Regarding your last comment about using Universal Control between a Mac and an iPad, you can also extend your Mac display to the iPad, making it a second monitor.

Some very cool features. Thank you. The sign pdf and universal control are amazing. I use my iPad pencil all of the time for Notes and other uses. This is very handy.

Thanks a ton for the last tip! I found if you go to the control center and click the arrow for the display and link the keyboard and mouse, then click to go to the display settings, just to the bottom right of the 2 displays (laptop and iPad in my case) there is a little arrow with a plus sign. Click that and you can enable "mirror or extend to" and extend your desktop to the iPad! This will come in handy when editing my photos and video while on the road in my camper van. Cheers!

Great overview including a few things at the beginning that I didn’t know about. Signatures input will be a big help making things much more “authentic” than iPad/pencil. Personal Voice appears to be available in Scotland.
I’m really surprised that you are promoting Clean My Mac. Because it runs constantly in the background it slowed my iMac down to the point where it became almost unusable. Deleting it was a real chore! I’d never install something like that again and many youtube channels say it’s unnecessary.
I respect your comment. My response would be that I honestly have been using it for about a year now, and the only experiences I've had with it have all been positive, so I stand by what I said in the promotion.
Agree with you and I am surprised Tom promotes this. I used to have it many years ago and had issues only. Since I deleted it everything is fine.
@@josefhab8095 You're surprised I'm promoting something because you had issues? That's like saying "I don't like cornflakes, I'm surprised Tom says he likes them." You've also not given any usable information here - just 'issues', that have apparently been resolved by removing CMM. As I already said, I can only promote (or not promote) based on my personal experience, which has been entirely positive.
I’ve been using CMM on multiple Mac devices for a few years now. We use 2 x MacBook Air (circa 2015 & 2017 respectively) a 2015 MacBook Pro and a 2021 MacBook Pro (M1). We have had ZERO issues across any of these devices, nor any IOS versions. I don’t think Tom would ever undermine the integrity of his channel, nor dishonor his audience, by promoting a problematic product.

4:31 Many mobile providers in the United States also support WiFi Calling For Other Devices (WiFi Calling On iCloud-Connected Devices). If you enable it on your iPhone and then confirm the setup on each of the other devices you want to use it with (other iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches), you’ll be able to make and receive calls with your iPhone’s mobile number as long as those other devices are connected to the Internet, even if your iPhone isn’t nearby at all. This works by allowing those devices, for example an iPad, to connect to the same WiFi Calling servers from your mobile provider that your phone does so it can use the provider to make and receive calls on your behalf, without your iPhone nearby. One handy use-case for this is using an iPad to make and receive calls when your iPhone is dead or unavailable, and it’s especially useful if you have a cellular-enabled iPad with a plan, so you can make and receive calls on your iPad without your iPhone while on the go.
I use Universal Display daily and sometimes with my MacBook and iPad as extra devices so it’s like having three screens going.
Great video! Can you also use the continuity camera with the iPad Pro? It would be great to correct for the camera position.

Great tips and great Rodecaster Pro II 🎉😅 I don’t use some camera, photos and scan docs tips because I don’t like to share all metadata attach to photos. Or I miss how to share with cleaning metadata option ? All my tests show me that metadata are preserved.
As always another very helpful video. One semi-related question During the airdrop segment, at 9:35 to be exact you iphone displays a series of contacts (the top row) that you have pixilated. I must have turned something off because I don't have them displayed on my iphone. How do I enable/disable them from appearing? Thanks.
Going off topic slightly, I have an issue which I can't seem to crack. I have recently transferred all my applications onto a portable SSD but I can't seem to be able to get any software updates. Do you know how I can achieve this? Thanks for the great work!
As a visually impaired person, would like to be presented with a video utilizing all available options, hacks for the Apple eco system. I utilise some but navigating through the various Apple systems is exhausting visually and a bit frustrating. Your channel is one of the best, very concise, educational and entertaing.
Live captions? Holy cow…this will be a game-changer. 😊 oh, I've been using Clean My Mac from day 1 (or thereabouts, like before it had a number in its name). It really is great tool.
Nice little known features...what would be great would be the ability to copy a subject and paste it into another photo. And while we're wishing, how about auto column width to reveal the longest file name while in column view in finder windows when you hover your mouse on the column.

I've been using Windows continuously from Windows 2.0 to Windows 10 (I refuse to use Windows 11), but when Apple released OS X 10.4, I was shocked to see how much better it was. Since then, my main computers have always been Macintoshes, because I found that they helped me get work done twice as a fast (because of the very intelligent multi-layer structure of OS X/MacOS, reminiscent of the Unix philosophy).
I created my Personal Voice using my 2018 iPad Pro and then share it across all my Apple devices through iCloud.
„universal Control is a game changer“ - when it bloody well works!!😮 One day it‘s fine, the next it doesn‘t connect at all and it‘s really frustrating. Bit like Car Play. Any reason why Tim? Always check the Apple ID, etc. Grrrrrr. Mind you, it could be just me, of course. Nice video however. 😊
I tried creating the personal voice on my MacStudio (2023), but it crashed halfway leaving no trace of what's been done. Sounds familiar? What do you recommend?
You'll just have to try again I'm afraid. I did this on my M2 Ultra Mac Studio and it worked fine first time. Took a few hours to process but worked well.

Continuity camera is a struggle for me 6 my Mac mini m2 and ip14pro max is on the same network
It is interesting that on Sonoma I cannot use iphone as continuity camera as my Mac mini does not recognize the phone at all. The only solution is to plug any kind of web camera. After that you can choose between web cam and iphone. Pretty silly. If you want iphone as web cam on your mac, you must buy a web cam. I hope an update will fix it.
I agree with “Clean my Mac” at how good it is looking after my Mac laptops and desk top computers (I wish they would do it for the phones and pads!) I too have used for them for years at (least three machines! ten years or so) . I wanted to ask as I have a Mac mini M2 and use my TV as my monitor (bluetooth mouse and keyboard) can I still use my phone (14 pro) as a microphone and camera remotely ? I enjoyed you content keep up the good work

It could be the background, or lighting, or simply the camera.
Tom, Guys. Can anyone help with Air drop issue? It used to work very well, but for last few months I can't transfer big files like 2-3 Gb. Mkv files, video. iMac - MCB - Iphone. It shows processing but at the end it collapses and says not finished. I have all machines up to date all set ups is same as it was in the past. Now I have to upload these big files to Cloud and download to Iphone. Thanks for any intel. Very appreciated.
Is the issue both ways, or only in one direction? Have you tried using large files that aren't MKB files? I don't see a reason why the file type would be the issue, but would be good to rule it out I guess?

When I try to do calls on other devices I get a message, FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID.... I'm pretty sure I did this. How come it doesn't work?

One bad thing about Universal Control is it requires Wifi to be turned on, even if you are using a hard-wired connection. From what I understand if you plug your iPad into your Mac with a cable it should use that connection instead of using it over wifi, so why the requirement? It's the only reason I need wifi turned on on my laptop when I would rather have it off, it's annoying.
It’s the same with unlock the Mac when wearing Apple Watch. Must have wifi. Stupid imo.
Is there a risk that hackers could steal the voice files for fraud? With AI developing faster than we can control it.

Keynote is a very good slide deck software to be fair. It's just that it's no longer software I have any use for. From what I recall though, it's typical Apple - easy to use and makes things that look very slick.

@drefue so because my experience doesn't match yours, my advice is "bad"? The world doesn't work like that I'm afraid. I've had a positive experience with CMM, and did plenty of due diligence before promoting (like I do with every product). If you don't wish to use it, don't use it.
I wouldn’t like to be associated with clean my Mac, the reviews online are terrible.
1,700 reviews on the App Store, overall 4.7/5. 10.2k reviews on SetApp, overall 98% positive rating. Some unhappy folks on Reddit, but show me a product that doesn't have that. I was, and continue to be, happy to partner with them.
