I’m a hairstylist. I use the “shave and a haircut” tapping pattern for the vibration tone for all of my clients. If I’m busy and not responding to other people, I’ll know it’s money trying to enter my pocket, and take a look.
That's so cool
I have learned so much from your videos - thanks for sharing all the knowledge.
Thank you! I always learn something new when I watch your channel.
So true
The podcast word search might be a life changing feature. Will save hours of time. Wow
I have set up automations to turn VC on when opening the relevant app and turn it off when leaving it… and hope the family is doing well 👯♂️
That hide my email was a revelation. Thank you 😊
I really like your office space and the way you set up your desk.
I never miss any of your videos or your newsletters, Tom. My nephews and nieces, who are probably your age, (I'm 62) think I'm the cool uncle for giving them the links to your material. Keep up the great work, and congratulations on your new family addition.
I love to hear stuff like this! Hope you continue to enjoy the content.
Like you I'm in my 60s. I blow away my nephews with my iPhone, chatgpt and mac savvy. Thanks are for this channel.
Wow. Just wow. I’ve been an iPhone girly for years and I’m realizing I don’t know much about my phone.
This is gold.
Thank you.
Thanks for your great information!
Safari is the unsung hero of the whole Apple ecosystem.
Totally agree. It just hums away in the background doing a perfect job
@@topgazza I never understood why people install so many Apps onto their iPads to access web content/functions that can be accessed via a browser like Safari instead.
Love chrome too much of the integration to Gmail, gcal, drive, etc
Every native browser is. Samsung browser is just amazing and allows to listen RUclips when screen is turned off.
@@eclecticaro Safari does also. The only way to get the RUclips App to do it is to subscribe to premium…
Excellent video, thank you so much!
Excellent video and well delivered.
Very helpful, Thanks for sharing.
Always useful content, thanks
Thank you, top notch information.
Great video, really liked these tips! Thank you. 😊
Using voice command for scrolling is life changing!! So nice to be able to put my phone on its stand and go hands free to watch reels and shorts..thank you so much!!
You are a terrific teacher. Thx.
Thanks, I always learn a bunch of things watching your videos
really helpful tips 🙌🏻 thanks
Very useful. Thanks
You’ve surprised me! That’s rare. Thanks, info and style much appreciated!
Your videos are excellent. Very well presented 👍
As always - really great content. Many thanks!!
Very useful one thanks a lot
Thanks!
Excellent video as always - clear and unhurried. Yes, I’ve learnt a few tips today so thank you 👍
Really liked your video, I did learn a couple of new features I will begin using. I just now subscribed.
There is a couple of things here I didn’t know, thank you!
The black and white color trick with wallpapers is nice. To crop for wallpaper size there is a much quicker way since 17.1 (I think). Open the photo, zoom in as you like and tap the then appearing cropping tool in the right top corner. (For your next video 😜)
I use my iPhone as a SatNav and by turning on Voice Control I can tell the screen to perform several (listed) actions such as “zoom in” or “page left” etc.
For more granular control I scroll down to ‘Overlay’ and choose ‘Numbers’. Calling out any particular number then activates the associated tap/switch
Hands free assisted control that works for any app
Thank you another very informative video. 😁.
Thanks
Some great tips, thanks again man
Super content and you always find some tips that I didn’t know…
Great video! The one question I have after watching it is: if wanting to unsubscribe from getting emails using hide my email, wouldn’t it be better to just delete that email address instead of just toggling it off?
Awesome video
Hey Proper I’m a new suscriber and to be honest. Your vids are really cool. 🎉
I use the Hide my email feature all the time. Best feature by far.
Totally top tips...ta!
Really good video ...
This was very informative. I liked the blk/wht and color wallpaper trick, the Apple Music lyrics view, and the hide my email. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏼✨
Splendid and helpful 🎉🎉🎉😂
🤗THANKS FOR THE PROPER TIPS 😁💚💚💚
Actually, if you wanna keep one tab open and close all the others, you don’t need to use that workaround just go to the tab view and press and hold on the tab and press close all other tabs. Then every other tab is closed except the one you held onto
Great tips! Never knew about the long press on the Safari reader button.
Another great informative video thank you 🙏.
I’ve been playing with ‘layering stickers’ on my iPhone. The only way to initiate the process seems to be by sending the base sticker in a message before layering the others. It would be good to know if there’s a way to miss out this step? Thank you.
Thanks for the Hidden Email tip. Never stop learning 👍🏻
Hide My Email is the goat
A side benefit of the guide to create custom wallpapers is that I haven't previously noticed the aspect ratio options when editing/cropping photos and videos. The option to choose 16:9 means it is so much quicker and easier to get rid of the black bars from videos I've recorded using the screen recorder function, so many thanks for highlighting that function.
The hide my email tip is a game changer
As always 1 or 2 items I never knew about!
Could you please do a tutorial of “voice over-Audio “in Accessibility section
Great tips, love the haptic feedback! Re the hide my email I used this once when buying some shoes online. It may be coincidence but these became lost during shipping and I felt it may have been because I did not use my usual email….. did I use it wrongly?
Super !!!
Liked and (already) subscribed. In Safari on the iPhone, ¿is there a quick way to get to the end of an URL in the address bar? Sometimes, I want to navigate a site by adjusting the path part of the URL but the domain name is so long it goes off the end of the location bar. If I try futzing with the selection tool to drag it to the end of the URL, I wind up accidentally triggering something else and wind up on a completely different screen.
Can you voice command the camera to take a picture? Hopefully without too much lag.
I have an up-to-date iPhone and the lyrics button you refer to is grayed out on my phone. I also don’t show the shared lyrics option either. What’s wrong?
Have you covered Automations on your channel? I recently set up some automations that forward any text message that matches a couple of basic patterns (contains a specific web site; includes my home address) and reports them as SPAM.
Thanks for all the tips. At times I wonder what are all of these for … I am surely too old school. As Apple puts them in, why isn’t it documenting too? Or are they?
Seems like moving the collections of tabs to a new group does not work if you have a bunch of tabs that are in Private that you are trying to copy over to a new group. Thoughts? thanks
It's not exciting by any means, but with my 15 PM, I use Double tap for control center and Triple tap for notifications. I forget about swipe down for reachability but I don't forget about the back taps because sometimes when setting my phone down, it will call up the back tap command.
5:55 I love the backtap feature. I use this when I go to church. I double-tap the back of my iPhone, which brings up the accessibility menu. I have a shortcut on it that when pressed, inverts my colors, silences my phone, silences my watch, changes my Home Screen, activates airplane mode, opens my Bible app, and opens my note- taking app.
I wish I had know about “hide my email” earlier 😢
Is that a Springer Spaniel ?
Is there a way to close all open tabs on the iPhone - not just on Safari?
Great list o'schtuff...wish I knew how to use hide my email before I have a zillion subscriptions ...might have to figure out how to change those to a new HME address
Great tips. Love the haptic pattern recording.
I thought lyrics have been around for ages.
Why do some RUclips videos have the Save option while others do not? This one doesn't, yet it should have as it's full of useful tips for later reference.
How do I keep my volume loud it seems to go up and down I want the volume load so I can hear it and if I want I can lower it down at my choice.
You used your Uber account as a Hide My Email example, but this appeared on the list not because you used Hide My Email to create an email for Uber but because you used Sign in with Apple for your Uber account. If it had been a Hide My Email address, there would have been an option to Deactivate Email Address, rather than the Forward To toggle switch that you recommended switching off if you’re getting unwanted mail at that address.
The back button touch how can I set that to when I tap it? I can shut off face ID so people would have to use my password.
One of my vibration is a heart beat
Hey Sir, do you have any idea why the haptic feedback just disappeared one day very much in the past when you were calling someone and you had the freedom to swing your phone while walking around and when the called one answered your call your phone vibrated to sign that you’re okay to speak(?). My English can be frustrating - and I really feel sorry about it, but I’m quite sure you understand my quetion🙏🏻🤞🏻😉
Thank you for your video.
Which app do you use transcribe podcasts as I could not find the transcribe option on Apple podcasts? Many thanks.
He's using Apple Podcast and iOS 17. The transcript feature is new with iOS 17.
@@arthendrickson4860 thanks I have both of those but I was trying with RUclips podcasts as I think the transcription service here could do with some improvements and I can’t see the transcript on Apple Podcasts
@@arthendrickson4860 Thank you, I will try again. EDIT, I see now, it's only new podcasts that transcripts are available for, still very handy though, thanks.
Visual lookup only works in some countries, still not in mine :(
11:11 No need to press the “Aspect Ratio” button after pressing the “Crop” button. Simply hit the “Crop” button a 2nd time.
I was amazed at what I experienced today with my 15 Pro Max together with the Airpods Pro 2.
When I received a Swiss-German message via Whatsapp, Siri (which is actually absolutely useless) read out this message, albeit with a strong accent, without any mistakes.
And what's more, absolutely understandable.
I mean, there isn't even an official dictionary for Swiss German.
WOW
Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
I really like the ‘Hide my email’ function. Is it possible to change my email to ‘Hide my email’ on existing accounts?
Let's say you want to do this on Amazon. First, create a hide my email address and copy it. Go to Amazon, log in with your regular email, and follow their steps to change the email address associated with your account. Replace with the Hide My you just created. Repeat this process for every site you want to. It's going to take a while, but worth it if you value that feature.
I was sitting opposite a butcher’s with a string of Greek characters on the front. I took a photo and looked at it, I found a Translate option and pressed it, the words of gibberish was translated to “Greek Butcher”, it was displayed in the same font and colour as the original sign. I lol-ed.
10:00 mins in. How do I correct mistaken lyrics?
Is it a Sprocker?
She's a working cocker
Noice!
I’ve got an Irish wolfhound, Apple thinks it a Cairn Terrier 🙄 or a Schnauzer 🤷🏻♀️
😂
Ms Rachael
Apple Music is so far behind Spotify
Or enunciate “turn off Voice Control” …
You allow me to justify the expense of being in the Apple ecosystem! TFS!!
The lyrics thing may not be a licensing issue necessarily - I’ve released music & there is a manual process for adding lyrics & adding the timing for lyrics to the song.
Some artists (or their team/management) may or may not do this for all of their music.
Good point. It's interesting that for some songs, the lyrics exist, but you can't share them...
@@ProperHonestTech I wonder if that’s a more recently added manual opt-in… or maybe they’re just rolling it out in phases 😄
3:12 so basically iPhone had circle to search b4 Samsung.
Talking about Safari, does anyone know why it keeps going to reCAPTCHA when I open a new tab? It’s driving me bonkers.
If you’re using a VPN it can cause the CAPTCHA every time.
@@Visqueezles
Appreciate your reply. I’m not using a VPN.
How do you use hide my email if the website needs you to verify the email address?
The email lands in your inbox like normal, as it's being forwarded to your primary inbox.
@@ProperHonestTech after I asked the question, I wondered if it was that simple. At least I wasn't afraid to ask a stupid question 😉
My iPhone battery is rubbish since the latest update, anyone else?
As a longtime Google Chrome user, someone convince me why I should use Safari lol
You shouldn’t… you should use Arc
@@braxtengarcia that I do use lol but not on my phone!
@@JessicaChungMN I love the mobile app!
Always interesting but.... I have an iPhone 8 How do I delete unwanted Wallpapers. I can't swipe up in the lock screen. That doesn't work. Don't say buy a new phone. 😀
You answered your own question.
Good video, little overselling it by calling them 'incredible'.
Apparently, Siri can now read multiple languages without needing configuration. When I receive a non-English message, it reads it correctly in that language.
You have a lot of sites for people to donate eh ?
Nope. There’s 3 where people can access the PDFs that accompany the videos. Don’t want the PDFs? Don’t pay! And continue to enjoy the vast amount of content I offer for FREE here on RUclips.
