Like everything I have gotten from Genesis this information is not what I got on my car. This also applies to the Manuals. Dealer agreed there was a problem, and would get back to me. That was a while back.
Remote start is ending for Genesis. The 2015-2018 models used obselete 3G, known tk be ending in 2022 (they knew when designing that it would be obselete in 4 years at the MOST). 2018-2022 models use 4G, NOT 4GLTE (aka early versions of 5G - what most think of as 5G wireless). 4G will be ending in 4 years. 4GLTE will be around for a while and does not have a set discontinue date, but with true 5G here it's already an obselete technology. I've been very disappointed with my Genesis G80. Genesis took away my remote start (an $800 fix and a big reason I chose this model). The dealership told me they could fix this with a software update... this sounded like BS as it was due to a hardware issue but gave it a shot. Nope. Didn't fix anything and took away my ability to use Google Assistant as Android Auto no longer has audio output after the update. Had wide-spread front panel paint issues. Mine started flaking off 4 years in... unacceptablly short life for auto paint. That was a $2k fix. Transmission failure with knocking when shifting from 3-4 and 4-5. It was an oil regulator issue (don't know the real name. Some diaphragm which controls the flow of trans fluid) and the Genesis dealership twice recommended a full trans replacement to the tune of $4,500 instead of the $300 fix I got elsewhere because they actually looked. Genesis claims to give loaner vehicles, they claim to drop off and pick up for service - this is simply a lie. I have been asking about this at the St. Louis MO and Bloomington IL Genesis dealerships since 2017 and it's been up on the website as an option the whole time. It's only after you schedule a service and go in to confirm your pickup time that the website tells you there's an error. I'm calling, the Genesis dealership in the forms that this is not a service that they offer and it never has been. Just a flat out lie and has been 7 years of this claim on the Genesis website. My wiper fluid sensor has failed twice. I have 1% wheel misalignment from the factory. Reverse camera sometimes does not appear for 5-6 seconds (a long time when backing up). The adaptive cruise control is bad enough to set off it's own emergency collision warning and feels like you'll slam into the car in front of you when they stop, regardless of 1, 2, 3, or 4 bars of distance set. It starts braking far too late. The lane keep assist can't detect line son the road, and cannot handle even slight changes in direction, let alone a full turn. All on ramps or changes in line type (dashed to solid or double-solid lines) turns it off. A litany of other issues and just not a luxury car experience like Lexus has performed for me for years. Wanted an uncommon luxury sedan and was hugely disappointed.
