Gold! The word in itself holds hope, joy, dreams, smiles, greed and addiction... We who vicariously live through your adventures, are on the 'feelings roller coaster' with you, Si!! 🤣 I have been excited, crushed and filled with expectation! Thx for the Scottish visit! 🏴 Let's do that again! 😉👍 hello from Denmark 🌸 🌱
My great-great-grandfather found panning tedious, dull, and boring (1848 at Sutter's Mill in Northern California). He decided to go down to San Diego and buy horses for $1 and take the to San Francisco and sell them for $100 to outfit other men arriving to go to the goldfields. That's he did well for himself
Si you are a true goldlarker going out in all weather's prospecting. It's interesting to watch and hear your excitement when you find a flake no matter how miniscule. Great video xxx
Interesting fact I just learned, Japan had a recycling drive for gold, silver and bronze for their Olympic medals. I forget the other stats for silver and bronze, but they managed to get 70lbs of salvaged gold. Nice one.
I honestly can't think of anything better than slumming it in a tent for a week in beautiful Scotland and looking for gold 🤩 It's been added to my bucket list! Looking forward to part 3! ❤️
This made me Want to go camping, sitting in a tent, in the rain… using Nature as antidepressing medicine, and then sleep so well .. love all your videos
The "series" is great and enjoyable to follow. The guitar music is chilled af dude love it, with the camping and drinking sounds like an all round great time
*Great goldlarking getaway Si!* The Gold Fever was palpable. Again, the packed sluice with garnets caught my attention😃 Thanks for sharing your holiday! Kindly🧡Dudley
Haha, this is great to watch! reminds me much of the first days when i began gold panning 19 years ago! Fairy dust, flour gold, fly poop and those flood gold flakes add up quick when you get onto a pay streak..Every placer gold miner knows nuggets are nice but flakes and flours can pay the bills! cheers!
It's always a good sign when the river swells somewhat, providing it's not dangerous to be prospecting, and those old bends is often where great gold can be found, especially if quartz is present and garnets, too. We loved your vid, again well edited with humour and larking around. We loved your Scottish bounce. Love and best wishes, Wendi UK. 🌻 ETA: Every little flake, every little speck of gold - all adds up!
Well done all. I have never had the urge to sleep in a tent apart from the creepy crawlies with my bad back I wouldn't be able to stand up again. The most important thing is that you enjoyed yourselves.
“Gold is the sun in the morning, gold is a 10 cent coin, gold is shiny, gold is heavy, gold is money, gold is honey, gold looks like fish in a bowl, gold makes the rich, gold is my favourite colour.” You guys are panning again. Stunning day. Peaceful flowing river ⭐️💫 thanks Simon
Hahaha! The bird at the beginning just confused my chihuahua like none other. Excellent job on that big chunk. Beautiful under the microscope. Keeping my fingers crossed for my own hunt today down in the wash near my house. #NoOneComesInMyHole. hehe. xoxo
Thanks so much Si for my Sunday entertainment! Love the sound of the water and birds in the background. Your videos are so well done and enjoyable. Finding those little bits of gold is exciting but those garnets make my heart sing. I can already see them wrapped or set into silver. Have a great week and please keep safe. 😊
Wahooo! There's gold in them there hills. Lol Great panning guys in my motherland Scotland. That thunder was menacing as it flooded our flats and I thought our car was going to drift away.
At first I thought it would be slow to watch becuase of all the panning. But even I was feeling relaxed and "therapized" listening to the river and watching the pan all of a sudden just turned into you swinging your detector, before I knew it I was not wanting the episode to end. Really liked the length. Your partner is a great personality, I wish I could do those things! Wheelchairs and metal detecting/river crawling just don't quite match up unfortunately. Good show sirs! Take care!
Another great day in the water !! My brother would pan when we went fishing in the Northern streams here. Love the nature , the water, and also the great music (when my brother played in our wilderness adventures, the coyotes would howl) Grand memories refreshed ! Merci x
Hey Si so happy you found your shovel. Rain is good luck. So, maybe you will find some more gold to go with what you have already. Hang in there. Joyce🇺🇸❤️
Gold and garnets to be found, can't go wrong there. Too bad weather was raining most of the time. Looks like it was a fun time and quite an experience for you.
It's so cool to see how proud you are with those few atoms of AU. proving it's not the amount that counts, it's the fun searching and panning the dirt. 👍🏻😊
We find garnets with our gold too in Arizona. Sometimes we find copper or turquoise in the desert too. It's amazing how excited we all get when one little speck of flour gold shows itself. lol
Super great thumbnail! That perspective!! And...your content really tugs on this old lady's fond memories of panning for gold in the creeks of Georgia USA! My dad was an avid treasure-hunter! Loving your videos as usual. Thank you Sy for a lovely adventure finding gold! The mother lode! Ha! It remains elusive....as usual.
Perfect Sunday morning that started in Gettysburg Battlefield Park, then on to Scotland to pan for gold, back down to a bottle dump near Manchester then finally on to an Atlantic Wall site in Scandinavia. All without leaving my living room. Very cool adventure Si 👍
Sounds like you've had quite the trip Jim! Thanks for joining me! Funny story, i went to Scotland (obviously), came home, then went to the shops round the corner and they had haggis for sale, reduced as well! So I bought it! Scottish haggis about 500 yards from my home lol
26:00 into video. That scene of the grey cloudy sky and the raindrops falling was soo neat! I want to make it a gif image for a cellphone or computer screen wallpaper. 🤩
Nice! Had a bit of gold fever after finding those big flakes! Congratulations Si!!! Now it’s starting to be worth all that work and never ending Scottish rain!! ❤️❤️

Great beginning and beautiful video shots. Simon, I swear you were trying to out talk your panning mate. 😂. Nice that you find new things and places to show us.
When I lived in Alaska We would always stop by a river on our way home from weekend camping and fishing and grab a couple of ten lb buckets of gravel and dirt. The kids would pan it out after school during the week and they almost always found 10 /20 bucks worth and one time found 300 dollar nugget from some trailing pile dredge dirt we grabbed.
Simon, I just have to say it, the biggest flakes aren't in those gold pans:) That is one heck of a lot of work for the rewards, you need NUGGETS! Great video dude, that’s something I’ve always wanted to do that and go to oz to search the desert haha. Really enjoyed it mate thanks for sharing atb Thomas
Very interesting Si, I believe that you could do quite well, if you could find a spot that shows bedrock, if you don't, you would have to move to much overburden, which would make the effort much harder!!!!!
Hahahahaa, as soon as you said "flaps" I knew a joke was coming :) To say nothing about Sean's hole! I'm loving this wee series dude, you make everything you film a joy to watch. Sunday afternoon, coffee, a doob and Si Finds. Happy days!

Cant believe I just watched 36 minutes of two grownup brits in oversize rubber overalls playing in the mud 😆 36 minutes well spent 😁

The sluice was called a "rocker" during the Australian gold rush in 1870s, but used exactly the same principle of washing gravel and sand

Go to Helmsdale in NE Scotland, good panning!
Was there a few years ago.....a few grains an millions of midges!
Your after a tip from me. Cheap artificial grass. Put it on of the sluice. Add another section. You can wash. But wait until dry.
Excellent video, this was fascinating, this guy is very handsome!
Simon,
