    London based Reuters has reported that Nigeria's major Dangote oil refinery is reselling cargoes of the United States and Nigerian crude according to its sources. It reported that the reoffer was linked to technical problems at the refinery. However a Dangote executive asked about the offers and talk in the market that the refinery is having operational issues affecting the crude distillation unit said the CDU is in operation. These allegations if they are true could worsen the problem between Dangote Refinery and the regulatory authority that had resisted pressure from Dangote to ban fuel import saying Dangote lacked the capacity to meet local consumption needs. This video examines the implications of this revelation by Reuters.

    The best way for Dangote Refinery to resolve all problems associated with its operations is to invite Independent International Refiners to run sample tests at it's Crude Distillation Unit to disprove all the technical challenge allegations of that Unit. If Dangote Refinery cannot present these empirical data, then it is over for Dangote Refinery.

    My man, just shift. Reuters is not in the right position to unveil the truth about Dangote and the government in Nigeria. The question is who are the independent suppliers of petroleum products and where do they buy? The markets should be as many as the petroleum products suppliers for market forces to play any useful role. Transparency also demands that entry to be a supplier is free and the list of the suppliers to be known as well as the sources of their products purchases.

    • @RadioTV595
      @RadioTV595 Месяц назад

      Bro,
      Theoretically, the free market is the only way to reach a pareto-optimal solution to the problem of fuel supply in Nigeria. But Mr. Dangote distorts the market solution by seeking to take the feeding bottle off the mouth of other suppliers and create a government-backed monopoly whereby na only him go chop, like in the case of sugar, cement etc. So, the other suppliers also have the right to fight back or sit there and wring their hands while their means of livelihood is taken away from them.
      If those suppliers have access to Reuters and their operators, fair play to them and let the best man win.

      Bro,
      A lot. Number one, crude oil is now going to be sold to Dangote and other refineries not owned by him. Good, so the monopoly Dangote is seeking will now not happen and Nigerians can only stand to gain. Number two the vlogger is vindicated in bringing the Reuters article to the Nigerian reading public. Number three, this whole issue has created an audit trail through which Nigerians can hold Dangote and others to account, especially in times of fuel shortages. They will now have to show explicitly that they do indeed refine the crude oil sold to them and not just trade it as Reuters had alleged. See bro?.

    All these issues surrounding DR operations, are like a big geopolitical cloud, the real storm is yet to come.
    DR is a major player in world order shift.
    The energy and fertilizers routes are going to shift deeply, money is going to flow to new places and the usual beneficiaries will fight back hard. American interests, european interests, nigerian oil mafia vs russian interests, indian interests, Dangote interests, average citizens of nigeria interests and african people at large.
    Never forget Nord Stream2. Don't forget what just happened to nigerin pipeline in Benin. Energy businesses (oil, natural gas, uranium, lithium) are bloody and messy. No top 20 country with world largest energy resources reserves is enjoying peace or stability. Exceptions are western countries and its allies.
    DR is not a sprint race. It is a marathon from Cairo to Cape town.

    Propaganda is like a rabid dog. It bites all around, if you let it. Reuters is an international media organization which has a duty to protect Western economic interests. European refiners stand to loose $90 billion in revenue from refined crude if local refineries are operational. Economic saboteurs within Nigeria too stand to loose a lot of easy money if importation of refined products from Europe is capped off. It should not be too difficult to put 2 and 2 together to see who the cheaters are.

    Bro,
    Same people who are ranting about Reuters "fake news" are the same ones celebrating when the same bearers of "fake news" award them Nobel Prize in African poetry which they know nothing about. Like someone wrote, this is a high stake global geopolitical game, and Reuters is there to defend their pitch just as the Nobel Prize poetry committee members. It is futile pillorying the vlogger for bringing the issue to the reading public and inviting comments. As for Dangote, I am not convinced that his aim is beyond amassing personal fortune or that he has the ideological wherewithal to carry the responsibility you guys seem to repose on him.

    Bro,
    Those commenting on this matter have clearly demonstrated what is wrong with Nigeria as presently constituted and run. They are all after the vlogger apparently for sharing Reuters article, offering his personal opinion and inviting comments. Pray, what can be more democratic and patriotic than that? Meanwhile, nobody is talking about the core issues- the true quality of Dangote's products and his demand for the Nigerian state to ban other suppliers in order to give him monopoly over fuel supply in the country. In fact all serious states have policies to prevent the existence of monopolies even when created by market forces and those policies are rigorously enforced for a reason. But in Nigeria, we are all supposed to clap together and proclaim Mr. Dangote as the best thing since the invention of sliced bread or be deemed "unpatriotic". What a farce of a country.
