    Personally I can now get 5 to 7hrs of sleep after spending 2years on less than 3hrs. Some nights I got zero sleep. It was horrible. I got suicidal😢. I never knew things will ever change. Acceptance is what leads to eventually sleeping again but to reach the level of acceptance is a tough journey!Hugs to everyone still having it tough

      Can you say more about how you got better?

      @DrZero07 First I gave up sleeping during day. My mind kept pulling me and reminding me am unsafe if I don't atleast nap but I refused to give in. Then I started living here now,in this moment. To mean,sleep is at night so no need to think about it . I had so much techniques that I had built around sleep for so long. I had to give them up! I said "Everything is" . If sleeplessness tries to take my life am here because I have tried everything I know how. Sleep felt like a chore before but when I surrendered that's how sleep happened. To be honest,It was a tough and a dark journey of my life

      @DrZero07 Also I had to address issues that made me loose sleep in the first place because I had left them hanging(in the subconscious)and got caught up with the anxiety around sleep. I think what made me recover is the peace I got while still in the storm. To be peaceful even in the absence of sleep,you eventually start sleeping and its gradual

      Acceptance is the way but I do agree that it can be a struggle when we don't know what to do. Congratulations so glad you are doing well.

    I can definitely identify with the feeling of running out of things to do when having the sleepless nights for so long. I've watched more streaming video and RUclips videos in the last six months that I think I have my entire life. However, I can testify that "befriending wakefulness" does work, but it takes time. I'm still having the iffy nights, but for me what winds up happening is that I'll have trouble falling asleep, I'll start watching a video or reading or whatever, and my brain "gets the point" that I'm not seeing being awake as a threat, and gives up and I wind up falling asleep. Yeah, I'll be tired, but I'm getting at least SOME sleep (4 hrs, 3 hrs, whatever). I haven't had a truly sleepless night, as in zero sleep, in probably a couple of months.

    Hi Christian. So I've I'm coming off cbti roughly 7 weeks and it's been quite helpful. I've not been told to let go of the sleep window and more relaxed with it. I'm noticing it's taking over an hour to get to sleep now where as on sleep restriction id sleep quite fast. The good thing is my brain isn't reacting in a negative way to how long it's taking to fall asleep. Before cbti if I was awake for over an hour then whole night would be bad. Do you think I should keep experiencing this or go back to a tight sleep window.

      Hi Dan, what feels more comfortable? less rigid? I would go with that. I would also say that if you know you are taking over an hour to fall asleep I would implement the "timeless sleep window" so you are no longer monitoring and take a more relaxed approach.

    Hi Chris, how about if every single night is a sleepless night for many months? I really don’t want to take any medications but this is endless.

      Me too. I've always struĝgled with sleep since childhood. But at the moment I am not sleeping more than 1 hour a night. It's difficult to do anything but lay in bed if you will disturb others in the house by getting up.

    Hi, I have a question: Is recovery basically luck? What I mean is that it seems whenever I sleep better for a while, it always starts with one okay night. This makes me less anxious about sleep the next night, so I can sort of ride that wave until I relapse. But when I relapse, obviously, sleep anxiety is higher, so it's really difficult not to fear the upcoming night. Since I can't do anything to produce or protect sleep-it just happens-it does seem like full recovery is basically getting lucky and riding a wave of good nights until sleep anxiety disappears. Do you agree? I feel there's nothing I can do to get better but get lucky.

    Chris, thanks, great video. Practical question: how were ur typical nights? I suppose u don’t watch RUclips videos or learnt to play the guitar the whole night?

    • @cristianzor_scs
      @cristianzor_scs 11 дней назад

      Typical nights were watching tv, reading, surfing the internet, and walks. Electric guitar was quiet since I was in a room by myself so I would not bother anyone.
