You can get up to 3. I usually bring broth, I deter one, place him/her in a bed in one of the huts around while u find two more. I usually pick a master hunter/warrior/guard first, recruit right away to help me. Then I get craftsmans, laborers or porters. Use llama to carry one and then I carry the third while the first looks out for me on the way home.

you can up to 33 by end game. it's based on awareness lvl and boss completation and also server settings. i normally deter like 50-100 at a time and then just be really picky about keepers. just delete delete delete and only keep the best

sorry that is a typo. that is the flint tribe it's where your gonna want to start collecting chill proof gear. then you want to go to the claw tribe above that get double chill proof gear so you can clear mammoth and the colder area's
