I dont plug my patreon in the videos because I want to keep the content pure and timeless. However currently I am accepting for support in the early months as i recently quit my day job to push this series as far as it can go. If you visit the patreon page, there is a video that explains my whole story. / boundarybreak

Always glad to work with ya, Shesez!
yeah nice job until they released the portal 2 episode and I am still angry about it
Daddy freako x Stip0 when?
i liked the fry avatar better.
There was too much fog
Couldn't see where the bird went
I guess you went to... uncharted areas of the game.
Planetesimal That pun is a fortune......
a Drake's fortune
He made this pun in the video tho
Yeah..... That's what I was implying.
testythetester I want to do that so bad.
0:39 Lol. I actually never knew that can actually happen, but that's because I never jumped into the water in that part of the game during any of my playthroughs. (Seen no reason to).
8:26 lmao legit best save in boundary break period
hhh
the pink texture (MATERIAL, to be more precise) is not "many developers use this color". it's literally a hardware thing where GPU itself uses this color for drawing meshes with no material, and it's only because hot pink is pretty rarely actually used, so it immediately stands out and reminds the dev "oh yea, I should give that object an actual material".
The technique seen at 2:00 must be something Naughty Dog use a lot. You never see a loading screen during the game, so they must be rendering in the next scene but hiding it from the player until the characters are teleported there for the next scene.
Zachary Erickson i don't think the original Zelda had any at all
Theta but it's nit used in the last of us
Its all a part of a feature called "level streaming". Most modern open world games (like the elder scrolls) use it. The map is loaded in chunks (called cells) and all cells are a part of a persistent level. Cells are loaded and unloaded as needed depending on where the player is at any moment. It causes lengthy loading screens upon initially starting the game, but allows for seamless transitions between areas of the game.
Zachary Erickson it's almost instantly though
Naughty Dog have always been pretty smart when it gets to removing loading screens or reducing how long they show up for (at least in single player anyway), in fact if you ignore the initial game load up the levels in their games usually have a 7 seconds or less loading time
Another mind-blowing episode. I've showed my 14 year old cousin some of your videos and he loves them. He slept over and I just noticed that you uploaded the Bioshock Infinite video, so we watched it during dinner. At first he wanted to watch something else, but towards the end he was totally flabbergasted by how deep your boundary breaking actually goes. We watched many more videos that night and his favourites are the Dark Souls episodes. Keep up the amazing work!
I'd love it if you did a boundary break for The Sims 2 Pets or Castaway on Wii or regular Sims 2 on GameCube/PS2/Xbox if you can.
Charles Teague or Urbz/Sims Bustin'Out on PS2/GC ^^
Oh I'd love a boundary break for either of those two games, for sure!
Ayyy new episode. Always nice to see content from ya!
It's also great to have a new episode of Boundary Break come out so soon too!
white void vs black void - yes, black is most usual, but the "voids" are actually manipulated more often than you would think, because they're usually the source of ambient and indirect (bounce) lighting, and the "color" of the void determines how these behave. so i've seen and used: gray voids, light blue ones, orange ones, etc... it's just that usually (for limited-size scenes) it's easier to get the atmosphere you're going for by having no global ambient+bounce light (therefore black void), and having all the light sources being "physical" (present in the scene), otherwise you have to think about how the ambient+bounce combines with your local sources, and such.
Excellent use of music there. I especially loved "In fact all we have to look at is that sunset skybox." *scare chord*
"Don't worry, we still have a lot of Uncharted territory to cover..."
What you did there, I saw it. That was a clever pun.
Great video! Super excited to watch the Uncharted 3 version of Boundary Break.
Please do another Batman Arkham game
That final zoom-out....such a beautiful shot. Also, It was really interesting learning how the lighting was done in certain areas. It really makes you think about how creative game developers can be. But hey, I loved the video man! Whenever I play a game now, I always wonder how a certain scene is made, or how something in particular works. Thank you for that!
my pleasure dude
"Much like Silent Hill, which is another game I'll be covering very soon"
My Boundary Break prayers have been answered!
Congrats on 200k soobs! I've been watching since 50k :3
i've been watching since 51k :p
Do the evil within boundary break
David Shaffer YES. That's one of the most scary and difficult horror games of all time! I'd love to see it boundary broken!
David Shaffer I just said that glad someone knows as well
Isn't that a PS4 game? Wouldn't Boundary Breaking be impossible?
spacegoon It's a ps3 game
spacegoon its a PC and Xbox as well
Great episode! I love being able to vote too!
Great timing! Finished this game a month ago and planning to play the other 2 on the PS3 since I don't have a PS4. Excellent video Shesez, as always. :)
Love your series! As a hobbyist game dev, this series really helps me to understand the tricks the pros use to build some of these more complex levels. Just wanted to put in a request for Bayonetta 1+2. I'd love to see how they do some of the massive boss battles and in particular how the entire first level works in Bayonetta 2.
Once again, great episode. Always look forward to your episodes. Keep up the good work
Thank you for uploading Uncharted! I'm a big fan of the series and also of your channel ❤️
When I first started watching this series, I was actually surprised about everything I missed in the various games I've played, Uncharted though, is the one game that I've waited to be boundary broken for a LONG time, I thank you and everyone who made it possible.
YESS UNCHARTED I've been asking for a while for uncharted thanks and nice episode
WOw I just found these videos of yours and they are really awesomee!
Killing it as usual. Keep up the good work!
Been waiting for this video and I'm not dissapointed! Amazing job 💕
Thank you for your great work and video content. I also enjoy listening to your voice :-)
Great video! I've been waiting for this. Can't wait for the second episode
This game blew my mind when it came out, Then Uncharted 2 came out... I legit could not believe how my ps3 did not explode due to the size, scale, graphics, weather/water effects, physics, and just all around amazing immersive game. Always will be up there as one of my top favorite games of all time.
I don't even play a lot of the games you cover on here, but I still love watching this type of stuff. Probably because I like noclipping around TF2 maps in GMod to find secrets the developers put there.
Nice video man, as usual!
These videos will never stop being fascinating, I love this stuff 🙌
I love your content, thanks for giving me a smile
I just love watching these videos. So satisfying!
My favorite youtube series. Keep up the good work.
love this series!
amazing :^O
Very cool stuff, good to know that you're doing an Uncharted 2 episode. I remember certain areas looking huge in this game, it's gonna be nice taking a better look at them
OMG OMG OMG UNCHARTED
Thanks Shesez. Great video as always.
Dude! When I sub you had maybe 15k, and now you're at 200k! That awesome man, keep the good work, love this series! love the Game Club Podcast too!
Mathieu Mercier - Gaming thanks for sticking around and supporting my side projects man
Just read your article in GameInformer. Loved it!
*THANK YOU* for including Alien: Isolation in the poll!
Love this channel so much!
Awesome stuff as always and great to see Freako doing more with ya. Awesome dude for sure. :)
I've been waiting for this for so long!!!
Btw thanks shesez for liking my comment!
I was just watching one of your episodes lol also I love how you make the boundary break logo on characters in the game sometimes
Good video! And great explanations. You could do Jak and Daxter series in the future, if you want and have time
Great, one of my favorite game series! Thank you, shesez
this is fun, was replaying Uncharted on a PS3, HEAVY on the contrast, still interesting to go back on it. Great video.
Another Great Video!! Can't wait for the Silent hill episode! :)
I enjoyed the tour of the closed off areas, along with the rest of the video as well!
that's a really neat workaround with the tunnels! I love the stuff you run across with boundary break, keep up the great work, shesez! (P.s. games club podcast is a lovely listen)
I love this series, please don't stop doing these.
Great video as always. I love this game and see some scenes for other angles is great. Thanks!
One quick question: did you use an emulator for this game or it was running into a ps3 machine?
Awesome vid bro
Nice video man
Uncharted 😍 thank u for doing this!
Your videos are awesome bro.
Love it so much good work 👍
Tomorrow I start my journey trough all Uncharted games, as I do every year. So this was just the video I needed!
i always look forward to see these episodes :)
This video legit made my day
Finally... Uncharted I was waiting for it..
Amazing... Thanks for this.
Fantastic episode, thanks!
Nicely done. It's fascinating that Uncharted is basically one big island, hehe.
OMG i can't believe that you finally are going to do a Silent Hill episode!
0:45 I never knew that about that!! Thank you!!🤘🤘
I like it when you allow the player the chance to see the secrets of a favorite game
Thank you guys work more than wonderful
Lovely video as always! Such a great game, and I always love seeing how developers tackle world-building and rendering budgets. :-)
But your introdution blurb is sounding very unnatural at this point, and I wanted to let you know. As in, the way you say it sounds overly rehearsed.
I start my adventure with this game, I bought my first console with that game without knowing what is that, and my journey starts ❤️❤️I felt in love with playstation and uncharted as my first game ❤️❤️❤️
Great video buddy 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
i swear i just searched uncharted boundary break 2 days ago and now u made this episode :D
Nice, loved this. We need mor PS 1, 2, and especially 3 and 4 boundary break games like this one. There's tons of them that need their boundaries to be broken, GTA V, Assassin's, L.A. Noire, etc... I love this channel and i still ask you please, when you can, do a boundary break about Far Cry Primal, i need to see those tallest glacier mountains of the game and of Oros, up close. Stay well.
Beautiful. Not just the game, this video too
I love these videos. So interesting and cool. I would love to see Boundary Breaks for games like Namco Museum Vol 1 or 3, Spiderman, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Twisted Metal 2 for PS1. Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy 10 on PS2 would be cool too.
Great episode, any chance of a metal gear solid 2/3/4/5? Them super long cutscenes always made me wonder what was going on in the background, especially Liquid Ocelot fingerbanging everyone from a boat in 4.
This game was amazing when it came out and it still looks nice today. Thank you Shezes for letting us see our favourite games in new perspectives.
Nice video. Do you plan also 2, 3, 4 and Lost Legacy? :)
Since you're going to do an uncharted video again, and while I know it's not going to be aimed at Drake's Fortune, it's still uncharted related. In your next video, I think that it would be great if you took a look at a shadowy figure that shows up in chapter 15, the treasure vault. The game directs the camera towards this character but we don't get to see it in detail.
Great work on these videos by the way. Your channel is fantastic.
Thanks for doing my request
Thanks dude for making this video. Do you think the p.t demo could be boundary broken?
Very impresive how real they make everything feel when your really just a few feet away from the void
Woah I honestly never thought of jumping off the boat in the beginning lol
Love your Channel!!!!
Please do overwatch though
Like always awesome video, it's super interesting :3
...................................Ok, I have to ask, Kingdom Hearts is still not possible to boundary break? :P
Was looking into some portal easter eggs and found your channel by accident, loved the content and watched everything, always nice to see this stuff you dont normally see in the games. Would love to see an outlast/amnesia boundary break, those games have some interesting stuff going on behind the scenes.
Ps: why no Darks Souls 2 boundary break?
Dark Souls 2 never had a proper debug menu nor camera. But i may put somethig together some day
And awesome content man
I love you even more for this.
Great vid :) Could you do the Telltale version of the Walking Dead?
I'm sure you've probably figured it out by now but paths and rivers ending in triangles is because that's a polygon - one triangle with a texture map applied to it. Any river or path that cuts off like a rectangle is either on the back end of a triangle, or actually two triangles joined together in the shape of a rectangle or square.
Similarly, for 2D textures used in backgrounds, if it appears within the shape of a square or rectangle you can be sure that that texture is being displayed across two polygons. If the 2D texture shape is bent, that's probably two polygons for each flat surface.
Wow this is really interesting!!
Uncharted??? YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤️
I think it's really interesting during that chase scene how there's culling for a mountain that obscures the immediate path of the chase that can be seen almost immediately after you take control of the no clipped camera
I absolutely LOVE that series!
The music gets me every time.
Amazing!
Love ur vids
thanks for the loveed comment Shesez
Can you please do this with What Remains of Edith Finch? I would love to see the level boundaries and what the characters faces look like. I love your content by the way!
Been slow to watch as never played any game in uncharted. There is a lot to see though. More than most. Glad you made this.
