I'm always in that illusions that I'm very open minded, I'm not so much as I think I am. Even though I love to learn something new or realize that I had a bias I didn't see before.

The number one most topical issue these days. Thank you so much.
    Very nicely presented.
    Trust
    Respect
    Empathy
    Vulnerability
    Courage
    Quality information.
    A tall order- but doable.
One point, though, when I emailed one of your authors on an issue- so that I would not humiliate her publicly in the comment section- where she wrote misinformation that diminished a country- where I presented the FACTS in which I was personally involved.- (my son was almost murdered in a third country) and that is more than a little memorable) THE CONVERSATION had me BANNED. So much for FACT CHECKS. PS- I was neither rude or threatening to her and she was supported without QUALIFICATION when she had misled the world on that topic). You chose to ban me from your community. SERIOUSLY. You imposed banishment- is that ISOLATION?
Your turn to apply your topic.

The problem isn't a lack of understanding of the opponent's argument most of the time. When people disagree with a more knowledgeable person with a well founded explanation or argument/refutation, it's just mostly due to plain ignorance, stupidity and stubbornness... usually brought forward by a religious upbringing/indoctrination.
Facts speak for themselves, a working system that verifies and validates claims, what counts as evidence and what doesn't. These are things most people fail to take into account.

What’s not to like? How could anybody NOT like this talk is beyond comprehension. There is an old adage that says that you can please some of the people some of the time but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. To that I would add, if you
ever do please everyone all of the time somebody…….somebody isn’t going to like it! There you have it. 45 people can’t be pleased no matter what. Don’t worry be happy. Lol J.

Fortunate One Consider my point of view. I am substantially unimpressed by her.
The racial torture on white farmers in SA is real. Is there any reason to believe that is not the case? There were many fake photos of children of syria, gaza as these things are flooded in social media to create a fad.
Oh she is talking about Snopes oh my bleeding heart! Snopes fact checked the baby in blue t behind fence then called it mixture, instead of calling it false or incorrect.
The evidence suggest wage gap is not 23% and not from oppression. Evidence suggests socialism has failed in all unsupported sceneries.
We need to be curious about why capitalism works, is there a coexistence potential for good governance and profit? How can we improve work environment for women without bankrupting organizations? How do we get people who have had an actual education instead of gender studies make and talk about policy?
There are thing I want to comment about this piece -
      a) form over content
      b) the virtue signalling is strong with this one ...

    • @DeathValleyDazed
      @DeathValleyDazed 2 года назад

@@SingingblissofRajat - Mostly agree with your analysis. When she moved on after explaining the injured child photo, I asked "so are you going to explain that farmer torture in South Africa is real or not?" Nope, just moved right on. In her defense she made a few solid points but overall feels more like a rah rah rah piece and if there is evidence based, scientifically proof of her concepts she did not cite references. I'm off to check here website to see if they've improved their fact checking protocols vs. being bought off or captured by contrary forces.

I think the point is presenting fake evidence can mislead the conversation and make both sides wrong and in turn this can lead both sides to resolve the actual issues poorly. While, yes it’s happening, mishandling facts can lead to extremism on either side. for example: one side can easily try to then sway this to try and persuade others to act cruelly in return and thus cause more innocent children harm (literally all of history;) and then on the other hand the other side can try to discredit, shift blame, avoid responsibility and hide behind ‘falsified over exaggerated’ stories.

That is correct, her example of the young girl reflected a pro liberal bias. She should have then used a pro conservative fact check. Once upon a time there lived in a certain village a little country girl, the prettiest creature who was ever seen. Her mother was excessively fond of her; and her grandmother doted on her still more. This good woman had a little red riding hood made for her. It suited the girl so extremely well that everybody called her Little Red Riding Hood.
One day her mother, having made some cakes, said to her, "Go, my dear, and see how your grandmother is doing, for I hear she has been very ill. Take her a cake, and this little pot of butter."
Little Red Riding Hood set out immediately to go to her grandmother, who lived in another village.
As she was going through the wood, she met with a wolf, who had a very great mind to eat her up, but he dared not, because of some woodcutters working nearby in the forest. He asked her where she was going. The poor child, who did not know that it was dangerous to stay and talk to a wolf, said to him, "I am going to see my grandmother and carry her a cake and a little pot of butter from my mother."
"Does she live far off?" said the wolf
"Oh I say," answered Little Red Riding Hood; "it is beyond that mill you see there, at the first house in the village."
"Well," said the wolf, "and I'll go and see her too. I'll go this way and go you that, and we shall see who will be there first."
The wolf ran as fast as he could, taking the shortest path, and the little girl took a roundabout way, entertaining herself by gathering nuts, running after butterflies, and gathering bouquets of little flowers. It was not long before the wolf arrived at the old woman's house. He knocked at the door: tap, tap.
    "Who's there?"
"Your grandchild, Little Red Riding Hood," replied the wolf, counterfeiting her voice; "who has brought you a cake and a little pot of butter sent you by mother."
The good grandmother, who was in bed, because she was somewhat ill, cried out, "Pull the bobbin, and the latch will go up."
The wolf pulled the bobbin, and the door opened, and then he immediately fell upon the good woman and ate her up in a moment, for it been more than three days since he had eaten. He then shut the door and got into the grandmother's bed, expecting Little Red Riding Hood, who came some time afterwards and knocked at the door: tap, tap.
    "Who's there?"
Little Red Riding Hood, hearing the big voice of the wolf, was at first afraid; but believing her grandmother had a cold and was hoarse, answered, "It is your grandchild Little Red Riding Hood, who has brought you a cake and a little pot of butter mother sends you."
The wolf cried out to her, softening his voice as much as he could, "Pull the bobbin, and the latch will go up."
Little Red Riding Hood pulled the bobbin, and the door opened.
The wolf, seeing her come in, said to her, hiding himself under the bedclothes, "Put the cake and the little pot of butter upon the stool, and come get into bed with me."
Little Red Riding Hood took off her clothes and got into bed. She was greatly amazed to see how her grandmother looked in her nightclothes, and said to her, "Grandmother, what big arms you have!"
"All the better to hug you with, my dear."
"Grandmother, what big legs you have!"
"All the better to run with, my child."
"Grandmother, what big ears you have!"
"All the better to hear with, my child."
"Grandmother, what big eyes you have!"
"All the better to see with, my child."
"Grandmother, what big teeth you have got!"
"All the better to eat you up with."
And, saying these words, this wicked wolf fell upon Little Red Riding Hood, and ate her all up.
