The more I listen to Tindersticks the more I love them. For about 15 years now. Not that I hate the latest pop girl in the charts but she is not for me.

No surprise that they found their calling in film soundtracks because you could create a film from any of their songs. (My favourite would be My Oblivion). They just create a mood!
i love live instrumental music. Especially the quieter type. subtle instrumentalization and a lot of emotional expression. in a lot of venues though that experience is dulled by the acoustics of the place and the garbage soundsystem. therefor i love popular music concerts in classical music venues since they are optimized for a listening experience and usually deliver. so i wonder: why the fuck are they using a sm58? there are so much way better mics out there nowadays. Vid is from 2018. Just because its been used forever? so annoying.
I don't think the performaces get's damaged by the fact he's using an 58. Guess he's used to perform with that mic, if he'd want to use some condens mic he would do so, but then he would need to adapt his micwork, which may be hard after more than 20 years of routine. Don't has to be, see no serious need there. Just enjoy :)

This is unbelievably simple masterpiece. This guy is genius.
Drummer is brilliant ... whole band has been bad ass for years, but this recent drummer is so freaking good. Ghost notes killing it.

It adds to the sense of imbalance and intensity, and just sounds so raw and on the verge of being overdriven. I think it works.
