@12:41 couldn’t you analyse the pollen for the green avatar, play it for its impending cost, get the token land and cast leyline for 1? You’d still have 2 mana left over and draw an extra card with beans.
im playing with emerias captain in essentially the same deck here only its naya instead sure atraxa is great but the red elf etb is 5 damage straight to the face while causing draws off bean stalks and while setting up for scroll shift to hit them again on their turn and to protect it while theyre trying to get rid of it.... being just naya has its upsides too bc youre able to play lightning helix and burst lightning and torch the tower to answer aggro i do however want to build a jund deck that takes advantage of overlords plus enduring courage to bring down the captain and hit immediately with haste from.courage but i havent gotten around to building it yet
It's Abzan (with a splash of blue) Day at the Slotherhouse! It's the last weekend of 2024, and I hope you all viewing this content are having fun and enjoying! And as always, Sloth, thank you for all you do! We appreciate you. 🤍💙🖤💚🪿🎉
Yeah, analyse the pollen is really powerful card, especially with all creatures in current standard that have game-winning effects :) Glad you had fun!:))
Usually it's good to mill them, but it depends, sometimes they miss beanstalks, so they are way weaker, sometimes you can get lost single one, and that usually forces them to play normally, or you can go full "get me bro" mode, where you decide you will endure all their threats - and mill them at 15-30 cards if you use Jace Control of any kind. Depends on situation, deck is strong, but it has weakspots :) They are pretty slow to setup, and before they get like 2 beanstalks they have finite value and can whiff, especially against high-value control decks
You either go faster than them (possible for the aggro decks of today and dimir kaito/curiosity) or you play an insanely grindy value game (caretaker's talent decks can do this). If you're in Orzhov they usually have no answer to big Kaya, but Kaya is way slower than Zur so it's not reliable.
Also, small Lili absolutely devastates a lot of beans decks. I have a couple Sultai and Temur beans decks in which I struggle not to insta concede when they go Lili on turn 3, and that they were on the play so I don't have the mana to three steps ahead yet.
I think it came from many many many years ago, where I was a little Sloth playing Final Fantasy 7, getting excited over fighting Omega Weapon (Emerald One was my favourite) :) It stayed with me until today :P :D

I see you figured it out later.

Nice deck Sloth! Analyze the pollen is a really good idea for this deck. The last game was hilarious haha

What is the counter to these bean stalk decks? When I bring stuff in I deal with enchantments it’s usually a big trade off when not vs’ing them

If you play golgari, maelstrom pulse is a hard counter to beans and leyline
@ I am Golgari 😂😅

i always said that analize the polen was an underated card
WOW I'm a week late trying this build, so good! May even give it a spin on Bo3
Why "Omega" when you are absolute Sigma?
