    Been to all of the same spots. So great to see them again and your description of each was the same as I would have done.
    Thank for the tip on the tide / current at Spots. Was not aware of that. Good to know.
    It is not the best diving but I have a thing for Cemetery Beach. Not the best diving but the beach makes up for it.
    Also Smith Cove is nice and Governor's beach is nice too. If you are super new to this and just want to warm up
    in front of the Marriott is an artificial reef with lots of fish.

    Top 5 Snorkel sites that are “free” and also have a Dive Shop/Bathrooms and restaurants: 1) Eden Rock 2) Lighthouse Point 3) Turtle Reef (Macubuca) 4) Cobalt Coast (now called Nova) 5) Sunset House. Stingray City is not part of this list as mask/fins are not allowed and a boat operator fee is required to visit this government marked area.

    Great video. I just came back from my first visit with friends. I wish I had seen your video 1st. We did the drive around the island to Rum Point but didn't bother to stop anywhere other than for a pic or 2. Would have liked to have snorkeled Spotts and the Wyndham, based on your video. We saw a couple Tarpon in the rocks at Devil's Grotto (adjacent to Eden Rock), but couldn't get close because they were so deep. Grand Cayman was a really nice vacation. If you get back again, I would highly recommend snorkeling at Macabuka or even Divetech at Lighthouse point. Instead of heading out offshore with the divers, turn right or left and follow the shoreline. It's a wall dive at this point and all the sea creatures are right at eye level. And make sure to unter each little cove along the wall. That's where 95% of the animals are. We did this about 2-3 times and saw tons of Moray Eels, a handful of Octopus, a bunch of Stone Fish, a ton of different crabs, and lots of other reef dwellers.

    The best snorkeling is at Lighthouse Point Dive Resort in West Bay, Grand Cayman.

    This was a great video! So helpful and beautiful footage! Did you bring your own snorkel gear or buy it on the island? Would you mind sharing the brand and type of gear you used? Thank you!

    • @jendoriott
      @jendoriott  5 лет назад

      We brought our own gear linked here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NUD3D5S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      Since this trip we have purchased other snorkel gear; we went to a local shop and got fitted for the right mask, and purchased the Cressi travel fins. We used this new equipment in Aruba in November, and it was much better. The linked setup was great for our first foray into snorkeling before we knew it would become a regular activity/passion. I'd recommend the link for a beginner/newbie

    Hey Jen. Just thought I'd add - It's really funny at the very beginning of your video, when your friend says to you - "There's a shadow on you" and you say, "Whatever - it's a free video." That's a great comeback. But it's your friend that is in the shadow - not you! That makes it even funnier.

    • @jendoriott
      @jendoriott  6 лет назад

      Oh man, it's so hard! My two favorites were Spott's and Cemetery. Spott's because swimming with sea turtles is rare, and Cemetery because there was so much variety, and it was large
