The tour guide was not making any jokes on you. He is from the region and his Polish accent is slightly different. His profession is called „flisak”.
The river name is Dunajec. It is quite popular attraction. Good that you chose to go there. You only forgot your „cheap gloves” :)
If you live in Kraków, salt mine Wieliczka is a must.

I think this was the first time we have seen fall colors that were this vibrant and picturesque. I never imagined Poland would be the place we would see scenery like this!
We still aren't entirely sure what we signed up for, but it was so much fun! (though a little cold the last hour!) It was basically a Polish version of a gondola ride in Venice and the tours in Xochimilcho in Mexico City. I think.

Y’all are lucky. Normally, there’s no foliage left this time of year. Looks like it’s a long stretch of Fall weather everywhere this year. Same thing in Canada.

Oh, the gorgeous golden autumn in Poland. I selfishly kept wishing that you guys included more shots of the rocky mountain walls from the more narrow Dunajec River Gorge twists and turns...😉😄
Btw, Trzy Korony (Three Crowns) is the name of the mountain you featured in your video.
The raftsmen are always full of jokes and are great storytellers. Additionally, they speak in a local dialect. I also overheard your guide talking about the importance of leaving the nature undisturbed since this is a stricktly protected national park.
It looks like you guys missed the spa area of Szczawnica this time. I recommend a visit there in the summer.
Btw, another grear pierogi place recommended by a few other RUclipsrs is Sekret Smaku. It's just a little deli located in Stary Kleparz market in Krakow. Stary Kleparz is a centuries old market and definitely worth a visit. It's located just outside of the old town, past the Grunwald Battle Monument.

Kinda neat having a country on either side of you as you float along a river. That was an odd looking boat, but it worked out fine. The fall colors were so pretty and even though you didn't understand what the guide was saying, at least the ride was serene.

It's not a boat, but actually coup of them tide together, used only on mountains rivers in this region

This raftsman talks about nature and the landscape of a church from 1500 . , says that this is where tourists most often take pictures, that there is a strict nature reserve in this place and if a tree falls into the river, you must not remove it, but he was certainly not joking with you and hearing the laughter of fellow passengers, he told anecdotes in his specific highlander dialect different than the rest of Poland says a bit funny for the rest of Poland hence the laughter. It's beautiful there in late autumn, when the green of the trees turns golden and red, when you were there it wasn't there yet, this period is called in Poland - "Polish Golden Autumn". I once watched a vlog of a couple from Brazil visiting Polish castles, but they were most delighted with the colors of the trees during the "golden Polish autumn" they had never seen such a palette of tree colors because everything was green in their place.
