I think it’s particularly interesting that Barriss came into this era in a unique position: she had already turned on the Jedi by actively framing Ahsoka, but her motives were not the search for raw power, revenge, or hate - the emotions that took Anakin. Rather, she was actively protesting Jedi involvement in an an increasingly of control war and forgetting the original mission. Anti Jedi Council, but still a believer in core Jedi tenants. From this starting point it is appropriate that she would join the newly formed Empire’s Inquisitor Corp, briefly to see if they were truly about restoring order; as soon as it went to killing civilians and eradication of all Jedi, she saw the problem and turned back,

The actress that voices the Fourth SIster, Rya Kihlstedt, also portrayed her physically in Obi Wan

It's not just ice caves; caves in general should always be avoided. Nothing but trouble in caves. Giant spiders to acid slimes to mutant bears.

Barriss probably had a very uncomfortable realization that there were parallels between what she did in the Temple and what Lyn did to those villagers, with the final straw watching what happened to that Jedi; she decided that she had to get off the path she was on.

I felt the last episode hints that Barriss is possibly one of the original founders of "The Path" to save Jedi and Force Sensitives from being hunted by the Empire. She kind of like the Harriet Tubman of the Star Wars universe.

Good reaction you 2. I think, with these 3 shorts on Barriss Offee, Dave Filoni and his team of writers might be setting up a The Hidden Path Animated series, which will further explore the life histories of Barriss Offee and Lyn Rakish, along w/ a collection of survivors of Order 66, inc. Quinlan Vos and Asajj Ventress. Yes, like Marvel's Werewolf By NIght Disney + short film, give Us 1-hr. SW tales that tell strong stories in substantial formats. I still want Filoni & Team to give Us a 2-hr. Animated theatrical feature. With THIS KIND of Animation, it would be an EPIC cinematic experience. BTW: I loved the Morgan Elsbeth tales, as well. Those 3 chapters are also setting up things that will appear in Ahsoka (Season 2) and the rest of The Mandoverse. May The Force Be With You...

20:23 Historically door frames were built lower to keep heat inside of the building. with more modern ways of insulation that is largely done away with.
21:07 I really believe Barriss was part of the Path.
21:39 I did not catch that, good point!

I think Bariss also aged because she learned to force heal

I don't mind this format, but absolutely agree I would have preferred the short film style you suggested.
There was such a great story here, and they really hit with moments like Barriss in her 3rd being a mirror of the Grand Inquisitor in her 1st episode.
Not dissimilar to what they did having Morgan go from an unknown point and deacend into darkness to a point we do know her - Followed by Barriss at a point we know and climbing out of darkness.
There's so much I can see what or why behind the two Tales series - but yes, I think theu could have lifted the bar by dropping four 90 minute specials instead. Even if it took a little longer to get them out.

I like the idea of doing movies moving forward. For instance, Morgan's story of a child trapped in fire would've greatly benefited from some more time.

I don’t think Barriss died. She probably got help eventually from Lyn but they didn’t confirm whether he survived or not.

Someone pointed out her breath didn’t fog the air after her supposed death in the ice caves. I’ll have to rewatch that scene later to see for sure

@@TessaxMusic95 Yeah, she clearly stops breathing. That's probably why they set it in an ice cave in the first place.

Ok, want a real controversial take on Barriss? She did not bomb the temple. It was all a Palpy plot to discredit Jedi. Barriss was just trying to get Ahsoka safely into Jedi custody, where she assumed she would get a fair trial (actually a trial was not even necessary as the council could have felt her thoughts and known that she was innocent). Upon seeing her mistake, Barriss decided to convince Anakin and the tribunal that she had turned to the dark side and was the real perpetrator so they would release Ahsoka.
No need to get upset, it is just a pondering.

I think it's pretty likely Barriss is dead here. I mean, she literally died on screen. You can see her last breath. And Star Wars has force healing and crazy medical tech, but Lyn probably doesn't know the former and the nearest ship is across the frozen wastes. Dark Siders keep themselves going on rage and hate, but Barriss has already let go.

How is Bariss coded Muslim. Oriental seems far closer.

I never really picked up on specific coding before, but now that they mention it, I can see her CW hood and neck covering resembling a hijab, as well as the way she would meditate evoking Muslim prayer.

Because these two see culture and implications where there are none a good portion of the time. They make good insights outside of that, but they absolutely love going with 'cultural' insights and trying to make something it is not as well.

i actually was not interested in most of what happened in these 3 eps. Morgan Elspeth's epiusodes may not have been "new information" but the artistry that they were told with is stand out way better than these three.

How do you say you are recruiting for Sith Apprentices without saying you are recruiting for sith apprentices....🧐
Barriss having that "Wait are we the baddies?" Moment. 🤣
"The Cave, into it you must go."
    "What will I find there?"
"Only what you take with you."
    🤔
    Press❌️to doubt.
Add one more redemption arc to Yoda's roster of "not a jedi" 🤘🥸
