Today I help my Mom set up her new Lull mattress in her bedroom and we talk a new design incorporating more vibrant colors into her space. I score two awesome large vintage inspired framed botanical prints at Goodwill that fit perfectly into our Victorian kitchen. Cabin on the Cape is surely coming along nicely. We are beginning to work on the garden and landscaping by incorporating native plants. I give a sneak peek at what is to come in future episodes from kitchen countertops, woodstove and my first attempt at plumbing!

It would be so cool if you could show us pictures of your mother when she was young and wearing all those “groovy” clothes she wore in the 70s. That’s my era, I remember bell bottoms, granny dresses, hot pants and lace up gladiator sandals. Those were the days!

I love all your videos, but as a collector of vintage glass.I would never put it in the dishwasher. It causes it to be cloudy, and it can cause it to crack.Just put a little vinegar and water on it.And if that doesn't work, use a couple of denture taps. I love your mom and dad.They are so cute. ❤❤

I always use cheap denture tablets. They are great for cleaning fine jewelry, too. Only thing that is gentle and will get any crud off your diamonds or semi-precious stones- rubies, sapphires and emeralds. 😊
Vinegar is acidic, I just use good ol hit water and dish soap. Rinse with a little rubbing alcohol water, And dry with a cotton towel.

Sheila, my son confessed to me many years after, he was terrified of clowns! He had a sweet little stuffed clown, and his first real costume , I think he was 2, I made him a clown costume!!
My girls also hated clowns and didn't tell me until years later 😅

yup we call them "bridge cloth" as ladies that play bridge would use them on their card table.

Those square tablecloths were super popular back in the day for card tables. My 90 year old mom has a bunch of them for her “bridge-playing” buddies card games.

I love your moms stories! Selena purchase some adhesive felt rounds to put on the back corners of your prints and they will help stabilize it and protect your wall from scratches.
Don't forget to include your Dad in some of those videos, he may be feeling left out. 😢 Now about the art prints; I love them. They are perfect for the kitchen. But I would hang the Citris print about 6 inches higher, that would look better and give more space for flipping the light switch on and off. Then see how long it takes for Pete to notice it.😅😅😅

Funny story with my dad when my mum would buy a new dress that she thought she paid a bit more than she should’ve or she shouldn’t buy another new dress. She’d hang it on the wardrobe door so when she wore it dad would say you’re not going to wear that old dress are you? It worked every time he never noticed any of the new dresses🤣
I think Pete might notice the new pics the first time he’s in the kitchen for awhile. They are really nice. Great price!!
I love and appreciate the work in those appliquéd linens. I’d love to have the one with the yellow pansies. Maybe I’ll make one. My sewing machine will do it, but I only sew straight lines. Ha. It was my mom’s fancy machine. She was the seamstress. My everyday dishes when I got married were melmac. They had a white background with yellow, gold and orange shades. Kind of wish I still had them. I did keep the platter so that’s over 50 years old. I think I still have it. Some of the pieces were solid colored and others patterned. I think they may have had a flower design, but I’m not sure. The pastel cats are fun. Punched metal trinket box. Phlox is a creeper so keep your eyes peeled.
Just love the friendship between you and your Mom. Something I miss with my own Mom who has dementia and more bad days than good. Your channel brings so much joy.

You can use that like tacky Putty stuff and put it on back of the frame at the bottom and it will help keep it in place. So glad to see your mom today!
