Proof that being (or attempting to be) the first of something doesn’t mean its going to be good. You need to make something fun or something that players will enjoy in order (even if the genre has been either done never or thousands of times before) to be considered good.
It’s basically a game made by what is currently known as Sony Bend, yeah. Despite the gameplay Mark Cerny was very impressed with the PS1 3D engine that was created from scratch for this disaster and that landed Eidetic job at Sony.

The most tragic thing about Bubsy 3D is that 1996 release date really, because if it had been released like a year or two earlier it would have been forgotten, but having it go up against Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot really just puts into perspective how ass backwards the whole game is.

getting all rockets in this was hell, but when i learned there was a jump height glitch with the glide and select buttons, it made the non-water levels so much easier LOL don't do what i did (going for the good ending) unless you want a giggle from how wack this is
if you're recording/streaming/whatev in OBS you can apply some transformations to correct it being in 16:9 also lmao the absolute seething while bubsy talks about the platforms

If you want to see this control style done right for a platformer on the PS1, try the Jumping Flash games. 2 in particular were one of my favourite childhood games.

I had this game. I tried SO many times to play, and like it. It took until a few years ago for me to see some videos pop up that explained why lol. I prefered Croc over this as far as early tank control games go.
