By far the best and scariest snake I've ever seen in tournament. Shogun getting a respectable placing as well. Samsora adapted well, but he could have lost. Great tournament.
His movement with grenades is very good. But ally before he left I would say is the best and scariest snake, of course he is no longer with us and I would say shogun may be better than mvd and Salem.

Shogun improved his Snake tremendously from a year until now. He's incorporated grenades in a way you wouldn't normally think. It's amazing because average Snake players would chuck the grenades out but Shogun plants them at his feet and throw out down tilt not just to pick up the grenades but as defense in case oppenents try to come in. Nikita, up Smash and C4 planting becomes safer with the way he uses this grenades. Snake's meta can go up more thanks to Shogun.
A Snake with no fear of blowing himself up and using the grenades for offense and defense produces this kind of results. Shogun just needs to be less aggressive when he's being pressured and continue to wall in until the oppenents are vulnerable
Ngl, I'm a little upset that Shogun didn't upset Sam this time. His play with snake is amazing and reminds me of Ally's snake. It seems like the Snake meta game can learn a thing or two.

samsora got in his head with the comback and he started to mistime his grenades. he was slightly out of it for a few games and couldn’t consistently play his godlike perfect snake. samsora started capilizing on his mistakes and was even punishing him for messed up grenade timing. and samsora movement dodging nikitas perfectly timed grenades and c4 was insane samsora a god

Most of the people whining about shogun are probably just mad that they got 3 stocked by some shitty elite smash Snake, this is some of the smoothest Snake play I’ve ever seen
When you press b and then shield, you'll drop your grenade, which lets you pick it up like an item. If you pick up your grenade like this and then press B again, you'll immediately drop the one you picked up and get a new one. Shogun does this a lot, that's how he's switching between grenades so fast
Shogun is also jumping immediately after shield to reduce the lag from shield drop. Shield drop is 11 frames, but you can jump immediately after inputting shield to reduce that to 1 frame if done perfectly. The red shield doesn't even appear until frame 2, so that's how Shogun seems to be dropping nades instantly without his shield even coming up. The input is hold B, immediately hold Shield and keep holding until Snake has finished the grenade pull, and then jump as soon as possible for the fastest grenade drop. He does a lot of things from there, like regrabbing grenade (just press throw at the same time or slightly after jump), pulling another grenade often with B-reverse, Nikita, etc.
What Ive noticed is playstyles of this speed/technique seems to sacrifice adaptability for outright movement. As you see him adapt it slows down alot more. As for Samsora he just develops his further, Shogun slowly starts to focus his playstyle into a more direct pattern. Fighting BLucas and seeing Shoguns playstyle brought me to that conclusion, anyway

Shoguns movement is so good and his grenade play is so fast it is really hard to properly cook nades and add in a good nuetral at the same time
