I love how T doesn’t respect Arsene, and just puts on the pressure like normal. It must feel uncomfortable for Zackray, as Joker’s usually gets in the comfort zone with Arsene out, usually due to the respect the opponent will show.
He is a descent joker but mk is now
I kind of prefer the feel of normal joker because you can’t gun dash and recover as well with Arsene, but it definitely helps killing easier.

I guess Zackray didn't think T would go for links second swing on the f smash at the end since it was too big a gamble but T went for it anyway and it paid off wow.
T was actually smart because he was doing only the first hit of f smash when it hit shield. So zackray thought that it would happen again and dropped shield to punish faster, then T used that to his advantage and did the second swing to win the game
@@Matt-dp7ze Yea agreed it was well worth the gamble after he conditioned zackray by never going for that second swing.

T plays the opposite of every link out there.. First he plays really carefully, just nair and jabs, maybe up b. Then when the opponent is used to that, he goes for the insane and often risky Link plays.
He is not just a great Link player, he is just a great player overall..
According to my calculations, the nair avg on T the games he won was around 15 npm (nairs per minute), the loss was around 12 npm. More nairs = more win probability.
That makes sense to me
less time spent in disadvantage = more win probability

And they said "Joker carries Leo". Joker is a great character, but he's hard to master. And Leo is better than the other Jokers, because he adapt well.

@@thekdanes true but Leo has won majors with Ike, Lucina, Wolf and Joker. Most other players can only do nearly as well with one character.

I already know T had what it takes to beat Zackray. He almost did it at Umebura, and I'm glad he get to actually did it here.

I gotta say Izaw also understands Link, but while Izaw is doing good at bomb play, T seldom touched the bomb.

I'm a link main and T is my role model. The bomb wasn't something I ever used (didn't play 4 Wii/3DS) it was if I have a chance I'll use it.

using Mario in the beginning was a mistake, Zack should've gone with wolf or ROB
Eric Zackray may be trying to have fun, but he’s seriously trying to pick up too many characters. ROB and Wolf are great against almost the entire cast, so he could practice those. But, he’s also playing Joker, Mario, Sonic, and G&W.
think he went mario since he player with him recently in a tournament in japan

NOBODY plays link like T. Watching him makes me think I've spent way to much time on bomb tech. His link is all about nuetral pressure. What a masterclass in what this character can really do.
I do feel like it's missing a bit of arrows tho.
StephaneLevs arrows are not that good of a projectile
@@showmeyourmoves8551 but they can help change your timing. Its obvious when T is gonna use a boomerang but if you pull an arrow once or twice just as a mix up, i think it could have help a bit. Also, its pretty good to edge guard.

He is, but T has the potential to be the best player point blank. I so badly want him to bomb combo more.
Personally I think the player Ridoga is the best Link in the world but he doesn't get much exposure to tournaments.
@@dadonutinator cause they're overrated. Not saying they're bad but people are heavily overrating their usefulness cause they only see the rewards and not the downside. Z-drop has low range, loses to all hitboxes and bomb in hand takes away all of Links grounded normals so his options are limited. They aren't as revolutionary as a lot of people think they are but will still become more useful with time. T actually has used the bomb > fair 1 loop in Tournament before (vs Zackrays Rob for example)
rebels guard seems so crucial in this matchup... probably most joker matchups too but this one it seems do or die
He tried to parry that last hit of Fsmash to guarantee the kill. Unfortunately it didn’t go down that way, out standing game nonetheless GGs all around
that's so risky especially for link fmash since you can mix up the timing of when the second hit comes out
You can still get a punish for holding regular shield because link fmsash has relatively high end lag

He didnt try to parry, i think it was a full gamble on T's part because throwing that second hit leaves in complete lag so he make zackray think "nah hes not going for that second hit" and boom he won the gamble xD
Zackray just didn't think that T would use second swimg of fsmash. He didn't need to parry that just block that last hit 'cause Link's fsmash has a lot of ending lag

Zackary is really good at the game. One of the youngest pro players of smash. He’ll get to the top eventually and become a great. He seems really devastated after the match.

Why? You say that as if Zackray's joker is the hot thing right now, yet he loses regularly against good or pro opponents. He should stick with Rob and Wolf instead of pursuing the meta sheep mentality of seeing a pro player being mega sucessful with a character no one used before to then start using it and expect the same results just because you are "good"
if joker didn't get nerfed when leo was reverse 3-0ing people, he's not getting nerfed now.

I love Zackray but man props to T
I've honestly been pretty sad playing this game lately. Smash Ultimate has been pretty gimmicky to me and just not fun to play, but after watching T play, I've found fun in this game again. His Link is based around fundamentals and makes me feel excited to pick up the game to play because I don't feel like I'm just mashing buttons.
I miss zackrays wolf, feel like that mu is pretty good
nah it's even or slight advantage for Link. Wolf has to play really patiently with lots of lasers and tomahawk grabs cause Link can up b just about everything Wolf does on shield and also anti air him well. Wolf ain't a bad pick but Joker and Mario do better than him
Leon Saridakis I’m not sure about Mario doing well against link. His range loses hard to link and he’s more vulnerable to edgeguards. Wolf may have a bad recovery and get punished a lot, reflecting his projectiles is a great move against the links

2. His joker is probably 2nd or 3rd best behind Leo. He mains R.O.B. Joker is just someone he's good with
3. That's one of the best Links if not the best some would argue. You have to expect that type of masterful play by him

T and Zackray fought 2 times already last month . Zackray won both of those sets with Joker . His mistake was going Mario , not trusting his Joker which is his best character at this point . When Zackray used Wolf on T's Link a couple months back , it just didn't go well
Wolf is not as meta as he used to be after two consecutives nerfs. Wolf is still viable to beat certain match ups in high and top tier but that is pretty much about it. Consider it a secondary character for especific matchups. As a main character he sucks...
@@Yokai_Yuri Wolf's nerfs didn't really hurt him that much. Honestly, Wolf is likely one of the best characters in the game that reward raw fundamentals. Very easily solo mainable, it is just that Zackray lost faith in him after losing to Leo.

Dang, Zackray at the end looked like he took that really hard, but according to the comments, that's pretty typical for him. Humans are hard wired to have an almost irrational fear of loss, I worry that taking losses too seriously is a sign of a suboptimal competition mentality. Pros obviously want to get better and that means taking the game seriously and that means taking losses seriously as well, but "trying to win" is not even remotely the same mindset as "trying not to lose", and that's how we're hard wired to think of it. I hope he is mentally doing well

I like Zackray but he should stopped reacting like the world just ended each time he loses a set. I get the dedication, but that's just a game (especially since that didn't mean elimination here). Props to T, the guy really made the Link mains proud, we need to see him more often.

@@danieldancer4065 I get why you're saying, but I've seen many Japanese players this tournament being pretty chill and clapping or hugging their opponents when they lost. For example Raito, Shogun or Tea. But man Zackray with the constant sad face... (it was even worse when he lost later to Light). But I guess that's his age, he'll learn to control his emotions.
@@Intothemind I would say Zackray is the Japanese player who takes this game the most seriously. He's the only one who is always trying to counterpick against his opponent from the very beginning. That's some try hard stuff right there. The other Japanese players stick to their mains.
Zack is the best in Japan right now and having to lost to a fellow Japanese players still hurts especially at an international event
@@ericdragoification Being the best does not mean invincibility. Leo is the number 1 in the entire world and he lost to that megaman dude like twice I think? He did not get eliminated from the tournament, but he certainly went to losers until he learne the match up. My point is: Anyone pro player can lose to a very good player.
