it might happen sometimes when the pc just shuts off unexpectedly if this does happen again and again maybe replace the hard drive. cus it might be failing. eitherway, the best way is to ask someone who works at a computer store or maybe a relative who knows stuff like this, that way they can test it and narrow it down to the exact problem
It probably means that it found errors or detected some corrupted files in your drive and it’s fixing them. It’s usually fine but always backup your data. If this kept happening it means that your drive is dying and close to being puff. Also don’t fill your drive till it’s red. It will cause so many errors and kill your drive. Leave at least 15% of the drive free. Example: 516GB = leave 77gb free.
@@developeraryan2225 It’s for your Windows to function properly. Windows needs additional free space to run smoothly without any problems. Otherwise, your programs will behave strangely, data corruption and errors will be more frequent. Things like this will happen more often. Your PC will slow down as well. It’s also bad for the overall health of your SSD/HDD, speeding up wear and reducing its lifespan. So yeah, not good. Same thing with MAC.
i'm here before it gets recommended after 8 years

Like is this free storage used to hold the broken data of the file until the file is fixed or is it reserved for errors or bad sectors in hdd ?
