They literally talked about it in the video. They will absolutely ban cards if they're too oppressive in the metagame, regardless of if a new set just came out or if a new set is about to come out. With how many sets there are nowadays, there will ALWAYS be a set in people's minds of "this might fix the format if we wait a bit." They're aware of that fallacy and won't let it sway their evaluations. There were no changes because all formats are in a healthy place right now, plain and simple. Once they're not, we'll see them take action.
My issue with the No Standard bans is that there are clear outliers such a Atraxa and Knight Errant as you have mentioned. You are predicting that rotation will be enough to nerf them, but if you are wrong then we will have to suffer another year with them because you don't do Standard bans during normal windows. I, 100%, expect Atraxa to cause the same issues, as you don't have to play Domain to play Atraxa.
Nadu clearly needs to go now, thats pretty obvious,. it was a bad call to leave it alone for the pro tour, but i understand you cant hit it without getting proper data first. I think hitting shuko just leaves room for this card to be broken down the road., please not another hogaak ban pattern, hit the actual problem this time pls. also one thing that is very noteworthy is the one ring being in nearly 50 percent of every deck in pro tour, as well as it being in most of the top 8 decks. I think the one ring has to go, as it creates way too much value with protection and just is an auto include in too many decks. (even more than lurrus was) another card that may have to go down the road is grief. now with necrodominance and ring both being in the format, plus the undying effect. i think grief just has no downside of card disadvantage anymore. and the turn 1 plays it creates doesnt allow players to play magic on the receiving end of it. and lastly the new sol land you guys made really does show some OP winrate issues with eldrazi tron, especially without nadu being in the format soon. in fact a few reasons above strongly justify a ring ban alongside nadu. I think these 2 cards getting banned is really what modern needs right now from an objective standpoint.
@@reccamancommander is official format and wotc maintains its banlist. rc is a remnant of times where commander was not yet sanctioned format and since only a fraction of people play commander as sanctioned format it is mostly irrelevant.

The meta is DOMINATED by nothing but aggro decks with all of them having above a 50% win rate! And its clear Andrew is a red simp smooth-brained aggro player which only makes too much sense given the current favoring towards aggro decks. Im tired of losing on turn 2/3 with the aggro player having 1/2 mana without me having had played a single spell. Its been this way for YEARS. And this rotation isnt going to change anything with some of the best aggro cards having been in the few recent sets. I started in Crimson Vow when midrange and zombies were everywhere, games lasted longer than 2-3 minutes and the games required more than "me play 1 mana spell, me play 2 mana spell, me play 2 one mana spells, ME WIN!". Its sad.
For me that is more of a best of 1 issue, in best of 3 standard is actually pretty healty with lots of different decks to choose, and they use the Bo3 data mainly because that's how the format is played in paper and sanctioned events. Monored aggro is not as prevalent in Bo3 because is very easy to sideboard against those decks, so its not really seen as an issue. I do feel we should have a different ban list for Bo1 tho, because the game does feel a lot different depending of the number of games per match, but I guess wotc is against that because of the confusion it may create or something like that.

The game itself can be confusing with the amount of text on cards now and stack triggers etc. I do agree BO1 is much different than BO3 and mono red would find it harder to compete but why the lack of attention for BO1? Some of their biggest content creators play primarily BO1 like CGB and Sonio etc. It’s like in an MMORPG such as WoW or Diablo. If there is a class spec that is over powered whether that be in PVE or PvP they nerf that spec. Why can’t we do that for MTGA? If mono red, boros convoke, or any deck for that matter is not only beating other decks by over 50% in BO1 but also played by the majority of players ruining the experience of playing other cards/decklists then nerf them. Create change in the meta rather than waiting for rotation or a new set to create change ya know?
