We need to consider specific angles, for making slopes, for example, slope at 20 degree angle, We can not just set a random height of 3 meters. If we apply your same method on another roof plan, we dont get perfect elevation.
Angles or slope will depend on the height of the roof. This plan is not applicable to all. Consider the size of your project and initiate your own angles and heights.

It will depend on the floor plan. But one thing for sure the main ridge will be the highest part of the roof.

Hi Tumi, All the values will depend on you. There is no restrictions in putting heights.

@@hez1711 When you put different values on any part of the roof, you must distribute the other values on the next angles (hip roof's) to cover up the whole roof.

Ang architecture kasi susubukin yung tiyaga mo at pasensya lalo kapag nagkasabay sabay yung mga pinapagawa na projects. Tip ko lang kapag may project ka sa isang subject gawin mo na siya agad para pag my dumating sa ibang subjects hindi ka matambakan at maging dahilan ng walang tulugan na pagpupuyat.
I can’t believe the 0.5 and 1.0 meters drop were taken arbitrarily! There is a computation using trigonometry for that. The 3.0 meters can be taken from your chosen height that’s correct but even that, you have to consider the required slope. Clay tiles for example require a Minimum slope. You cannnot just say 3.0 meters if your building is big. Are you an architect?!
Don't limit yourself doing complicated solutions of trigonometry and worrying about clay tiles for roof specification as your example. Random choice will be fine as long the aesthetic and strength applies. I can do 10meters roof height if I wanted too. Please don't use your book. Architecture is unexpected.

@@lesintocables2311 What if a client require you to have a 4meters roof attic. Then if trigonometry doesnt fulfill the client need because of some constraints still you will insist trigonometry. By the way I never had a problem building houses using my own roof proportions. And can do whatever you want. This is in real life not relying completely on the book. In short it is flexible and free. And this tutorial doesnt applicable for all the floor plans. You mis understood to think its a general use.
@@ARCHITECTCHANNEL there is math and trigonometry for all the things you mentioned. If Philippine architectural landscape is peppered with architects without math and science, that would explain why architecture in the country is for the most part ugly. Many of the best buildings and projects deploy foreign architects with their science and math, why?
@@lesintocables2311 You are going to far and out of technical knowledge. Best buildings not solely for architects. There is a lot of disciplines combined. By the way Im am telling you that Philippines GDP contributors are ofw’s. Most of them are professionals. Meaning to say they employed Filipinos because of intellectual advantage. Poor architecture in the Philippines doesn’t mean were lack of math and science. Lastly you can leave in my channel and create your own and teach students in your own way. You are too good to be here.
