  • In this video we're going to show you how to bring a shine to a crank hole cover. First we'll use a simple test to determine what the part is made of. Then, we'll show you the ideal rubbing compound - and that is 3M Perfect-it EX AC Rubbing Compound, #36060. Our next step will involve the use of TripolI buffing compound. The technique isn't shown, so here's how to
use Tripoli Rouge Polishing Compound (available at Eastwood): 1) apply it to a buffing wheel or polishing pad until a thin layer of the compound is evenly distributed. 2) Use the wheel or pad to buff the surface, applying light pressure and allowing the compound to do its work. You can also check out our Stainless Playlist. In our final step Wenol metal applied to a micro fiber
towel and was used in the final step to clean up the part.
There's still that pimples on the cap/door to the crank that you saw in the opening of the video.
That is easily solved by gently using a small ball peen hammer and a miniature anvil or punch. We'll show you how.
