I bought into the 'avoid tax penalties' last cycle - but it's not worth holding onto an asset to avoid a 30% tax, if your asset is down 70%.
100%, although hopefully you can offset future taxes with some of those previous year losses!

it doesn't take into account 'taxable events' created when you sell though....
Good point, however it depends on tax jurisdictions and if you're buying native BTC or potentially a derivative. There's too many factors to give comprehensive tax advice but definitely something everyone should account for!
This strategy: 31,000% no tax, 21,000% w/taxable events
Hodl: 26,000% pre tax, 18,000% post tax (which you will have to pay in one lump sum in the end)
This is much better even with taxable events.
Make your own spreadsheet for your own specific situation and find our for yourself

This is beyond ridiculous and disingenuous. Everything in hindsight is easy.
Take action for an unknown future is near impossible to profit from. Which is shown by the evidence of most retail people losing money in the markets.
Give it a rest.
Do you not think at least some logical and unbiased easy to execute strategy will outperform pure investor sentiment and emotion? Clearly this strategy wasn't overfitted to buy exact bottoms and sell exact tops, as a jumping off point for new investors an approach such as this one is likely much better than blindly following buy/sell signals from other content creators.
