    Perfect. Suggestion/tip: to complement your to-do list also add "In calendar"-list - which means that the card is planned in your calender a certain day (for example in gmail). In the gmail calendar you can place the task "night-time" to separate from time-blocked activities (use full-day mark) with different prio colors and when its done - mark it light-green, and move the trello card to "done". Works for me! :-) Simpletivity - great video as usual! Thanks.

    I've been looking for an platform to keep on top of everything. I've been using trello and recently tried jira. The one thing I liked about jira in Mac is that you can put a subtasks in progress and you can see that task in the progress board instead of having to go in project by project to see what's your current step. Love your videos!

    Hi, great video very very helpful. I do a lot of projects and they have similar but not exactly the same sets of tasks. Is there a way to build a template in s separate board that you can bring in all the related cards and customize for the project at hand? Do you have a video also showing how to integrate my Trello task into a calendar such as iCal, Outlook or Google Calendar so I have one source to see what I am working on in any week? I know you have a video talking about Task integration with calendaring, but can you do that with Trello?

    Fab. I’ve been playing with Trello for the last couple of days and I learnt so much in this video. Thanks. I have a quick question if I may - when you link tasks to a project and all the tasks are completed, does it automatically move the tasks cards in the done list if you only move the project card in the done list? I hope this makes sense 😊

    Hello I've been using Trello for a few years and one of the big issues we are having is that as we are growing, it is hard to keep track what tasks a team member is doing day-to-day. The way we assigned tasks is that there are boards which we are doing work for each of our digital marketing clients, and in those boards there are many cards and we tag the team member in a particular card to do the task. But with enough clien's being worked on at the same time, we don't know what that team member is doing today versus tomorrow vs next week? to solve this we created a board particularly for the team member where they will write down what they are doing in 1 board (So it's a board to manage the tasks they are doing another boards) but this is also getting a little blue confusing and I wanted to know if there's an easier way to solve this issue by possibly have a card copy to the team members whenever they are assigned to the task?

    Question: Once a project has been completed and all the cards are in DONE - what's next? Do these get archived or save for a repeat project?

  • @jbporter1
    @jbporter1 4 года назад

    How do you handle recurring tasks? Seems like most task managers fall short on the tasks that repeat “Every 2nd and 4th Thursday”. In Trello, I have a Recurring list and just use checklists 1st Quarter and add items that repeat. Example: under the first quarter checklist I would have a task “20200204 | Tue | Take out trash”. But that is a pain (and time consuming) to make. Any better ideas?

    Thanks for the Tips......
    Question?, I see you had the Butler at the time of the video.
    I am wanting to use Butler in the following way and wanted to know if you have tried this?.......
    Use the Custom Field Power-Up
    and Create Roles in the Custom Fields like...
    Manager
    Quality Control
    Admin
    Secretary
    Etc
    So I have "John Doe" as Admin and "John Doe" is a member of the Board.
    If I have Butler assign to the Admin if the label is made urgent, Can Butler read the custom field for Admin as {Admin} and it assigns this to "John Doe" since "John Doe" is in the Text in the Custom Field, but also is a member of the Board.
    This Way if the person changes in the Custom Field and they are a member of the Board, Butler will automatically know what to do and will not be stuck with a hard coded rule to "John Doe".
    Thinking Out Loud for your feedback......
    Thanks

    Trello is a great kanban-style task manager, but I've found it somewhat lacking as a to-do list. For example, the feature I miss is the lack of hierarchy so that I can group and structure when needed.
    Also, I think it's just better to create separate boards for each project, so that you can see their progress, which you can't do with attachments (unless you add some card tag to mark the completion of the task, but that would no longer be kanban, right?).

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  4 года назад

      Having separate boards for different projects is especially useful if they are large in size. For more smaller projects, having a separate board may be overkill and take additional time to manage.

  • @Anonnonon
    @Anonnonon 4 года назад +1

    I also wanted to ask, you mentioned that you prefer using Google Calendar for your tasks and todos and I’ve seen the video, the process is really good however you also use Trello? If so, there would be an overlap of todos and tasks between your google calendar and trello? Or are you showcasing Trello for demonstration purposes only? Plus if I had a small team do you recommend Google calendar or Trello or both?
    Thanks in advanced.

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  4 года назад +1

      Great question. Personally, I use Google Calendar as my primary to-do list. However, if I am working on a medium to large project, I will use Trello and manage my tasks there for that purpose.
      As for team collaboration, I highly recommend Trello. You will still need a calendar to schedule meetings and events, but your calendar will not be able to effectively be used among a team in this way. I hope that helps!
