    When I hiked this in the mid to late 80's four years in a row, there was no bridge and no store, no place to buy anything. A lot has changed.

    Thank you so much for putting together this video... Curious, how was the weather when you went? I'm going on 3/20 and the forecasts seem all over the place

    • @TheTruth427
      @TheTruth427 Год назад

      Hey Derek, whatever you hear from all the weather reports, add 10 degrees to the campground. For example, when I went I was planning for night time temps around 28. It never went below 38 and was very tolerable. So, even if it's snowing at the rim, plan for it to be MUCH warmer down at the campground, you should be fine.

    Great video, thanks! Curious, with the 11 and timewarp how often were you changing out batteries?

    • @TheTruth427
      @TheTruth427 Год назад +1

      Great Q, I brought 5 batteries total (the longer lasting white ones) and I think I went through 4 of them. Basically each battery lasted about 2 hours I think...

    Your video is great, one question: did you use an application, map, Google maps or something like that to avoid losing your way?

    • @TheTruth427
      @TheTruth427 Год назад +2

      I did not...however you can use AllTrails, they have the hike. It's easy though, once you get past Beaver Falls, the trail is 80% on the right side and easy to find. There are a few river crossings. But again, use All trails (Campground to Confluence Hike)

    Do you mind telling us what kind of shoes you were wearing? Great video! Going in Nov

    • @TheTruth427
      @TheTruth427 Год назад +3

      Great question...So I messed up on the shoes. I wore running shoes but brought a pair of water shoes/slippers for water crossings. These water shoes were VERY flimsy like slippers and I cannot believe I made it all the way to the confluence in them. It was almost like going barefoot...felt every stone and rock and branch. It was a hassle changing in and out fo the shoes so I ended up just wearing the water shoes most of the time.

    • @TheTruth427
      @TheTruth427 Год назад +1

      @@flowerpower1980 if you're going in the summer, I suggest a good pair of water shoes and a side of flip flops for around the camp...I usually just wear good water shoes for the hiking and swimming. I used teva's in 2019

      because of the flood there was a huge amount of debris/trees down, etc. They let us burn to get rid of the stuff...worked out for both of us!

    Hey, are you willing to share some of your raw video footage? Need the parts with those packhorses being run up the trail. Hard to view them clearly with time lapse.
