My daughter fostered a baby pig for a few weeks . Of course I was the piggy's feeding and cleaning maid. When she was hungry which was most of the time she would scream at me and bite my ankles. I grew to love her so very much. She loved to sit on my lap and cuddle. Pigs are not dirty but they do like a bit of mud. I cried and cried when she had to leave. 😢😢
@@janebaker966 she lives a happy life. With loving owners. Pot Bellied pigs make wonderful pets. You sound like a sugar or a troll. "In darkness let me dwell" sounds like an apt quote for you. I noticed that on your YT page.
'Theo' obviously loves his 'Mum', it was beautiful to see him running to her as soon as he saw her, how cute. The play tee pee's and equipment, particularly the little village are just amazing, I'm sure all the children who visit Mapperton will just love them. Love your videos, thank you for sharing your amazing life with us all xxx
Loved all of this - the pigs, the area for kids, the lambs. It’s a shame little Theo Three Spots wouldn’t accept the bottle from Luke (Luke was so enthusiastic) but at least Theo got got fed by Claire! Looking forward to updates!
When you earlier spoke of “wild pigs” some of us were thinking feral pigs like we have in the US in addition to domesticated strains. So I laughed with delight when they were Tamworths! A very respected breed in the UK with a lot of history there. You can turn off the electric barrier in a couple of weeks if not earlier and enjoy your Tammies!❤
Thank God your pigs are not like our feral pigs in the US. Otherwise you would be in big trouble. Love little Theo. It warmed my heart so much to see him running for his bottle. ❤😊
Just beautiful there Luke. The animals are amazing and you are so enthusiastic about it all that it makes me smile. Great job you and your team are doing. Hope you and Julie have a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday. 💕
Hi Julie and Luke, I am so happy Mapperton has stocked its land with livestock, these lucky beautiful animals will never see a butcher, everything you are doing in preserving the woodlands and the wildlife, is so wonderful, you two are amazingly the best. Love from N.Y.
Love ❤the pigs🐷🐷 now known as Sage and Onion. Can hardly wait for the pigglets to arrive!! Brilliant children's village taking shape. The Mapperton Movers are adorable. Watching Theo Threespots race to Claire for his bottle was precious. Your channel gets better and better.❤
Good Afternoon from Cape Cod. Great vlog! The pigs are wonderful. The children will be so happy with the play area. I saw a play area with different level stumps for stepping from one to another. It might fit in with the wild Mapperton Village. Kids seemed to like the balancing play. 😊
9:21 as someone’s who’s never lived in the country, I’ve always loved the way farmers think, but this is the true definition of working smarter, not harder. Sure it might take a little longer having pigs turn the soil then doing it manually yourself, but the energy you don’t need to spend and can use on other tasks is amazing. I will probably never need to use this info in my life but I still find it fascinating to hear about. Edit to add: I’m sure back in the days the pigs would also become a food source for the farmers or meat to sell. So you’re getting double your money or more then double since the land will be used to grow food for years to come. It’s just such a neat thing to think about. Haha.
When a local animal park closed here in the U.S., my cousin adopted a grown pig that size as a household pet. His name was Irwin and he had the run of the house. He would run to the neighbors' houses for treats.
I so enjoyed this video! I love the pigs they are a beautiful colour. Absolutely love the play area for toddlers and the bigger area for older children. Oh my gosh the little red wagons!😍what a fabulous idea❣️
The Mapperton pigs are adorable they are going to love it there so much going on at Mapperton children’s play area the wooden tee pees pull along trolleys the school house etc just amazing I love what you do for the community and Theo 3 spots isn’t he just precious I’m hungry but I want my mommy Claire there she is fabulous visit to Mapperton you made me smile a perfect Mother’s Day treat 😍👌Have a fabulous weekend till next time💖💖😍😍👌👌🌟🌟
I just live all things pig. I have never had a real one, but my home is gull of them . I jope all goes well with your new friends. I just love your podcast Keep up the good work. Find it very informtive. Thank for your efforts
Wow, Sage and Onion are beautiful!! Love all of the new adventures being planned for the visiting kids....such fun! That lost Mapperton village is fantastic! Imaginations will run rampant! Love little Theo, who clearly loves Claire! Wow...what a gallop! Don't despair Luke. C'est la vie! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Theo, Theo...come here 😅 absolutely love every minute, when you two are on! ❤ Sage and Onion are perfect names 😊 I think performers dressed in period sprite and woodland costumes, maybe masked would make the play area absolutely magical ✨️
Hiya from Devon U.K, we used to keep 2 Vietnamese Pot Belly Pigs, they were HUGE! The amount of food they ate was phenomenal! They were so loving aswell ❤❤❤
I could feel your pain - rejected by Theo. Maybe he doesn't like the way you smell? Roll around in the grass and dust yourself with powdered milk before feeding time? Make sure he smells you before approaching? BTW, all of the Mapperton team is first class. I am really looking forward to seeing the pig pasture evolve. Thanks for sharing.
@@HappyLife693 It's an option. Either that or take the bottle of milk along with a pail of the same milk formula out into the pasture. Stand upwind from the lamb and slosh the milk so the wind can pick up the scent of the milk. The scent of the milk may lure the lamb. It would be a good idea for the lamb to be fed by more than one person. Take turns feeding the lamb.
Watching Luke try to feed Theo Three Spots gave me a good giggle after a rough day. Listening to his running commentary (Things like, “The truth is I’m just not Claire,” and “Come on, Theo. It’s only me.”), and then to see Theo sprint happily to Claire who is literally standing still was a hoot. Great editing in this, btw. Comedic gold.
Love pigs - I have two pets of my own - they're such beautiful creatures!! Mine are called Daphne and Peggy. Love seeing all your beautiful Mapperton creatures xx
Pigs are not my favorite, either, Chris. The ones we had when I was young, were very mean when they had their young, but I must say these seemed very friendly. Thanks for the videos. I look forward to them every week.
They are until the one that is pregnant has her piglets. That otherwise nice friendly pig has piglets will try to kill you so be close to a fence you can scale quick or a truck you can dive into the truck bed of if in pasture - ask how I know.! My friendly show pig I had in high school chased me up a fence and out of her pen when she had her litter.
oh theo is such a cutie - lucky clair to be his foster mommy! love all the wonderful things you are doing for kids in the lost mapperton village so fun! my husband and i raised a few pigs while my son was in high school also chickens and cows and a few ducks. i love pigs so was nice to see the ones you now have. the wilding project is fantastic.
For the 20K visitor goal I’m thinking that contracting with big name tour companies like Trafalgar, Globus, Collette and bringing in 4 bus loads of 30-40 tourists per day (2 in morning and 2 in afternoon) for 4 days a week Mon-TH would yield quite a number of visitors.
That looked like a fun shape for the sandpit - will you be using a tarpaulin type cover to prevent cat's pooing in it and risking pregnant woman that ghastly disease that can lead to their unborn children becoming blind?
Now that they have added pigs to the Mapperton estate, it's time for a good old fashion American Texas barbeque with the pigs and cattle they now have. Maybe once a year on the 4th of July. Best way to control the population.
Curious what the square white boxes(?) in the pigs' area? Too short for shelter for them I think. And Claire, baby animals need the nipple pointing down!
Watching Theo sprint to get his milk from his foster mother warmed my heart and put a smile on my face!
Theo knows males are for play while females are for food.
I'm glad they added the last clip so it didn't end on a sad note with a hungry lamb 🙂

King George III raised Tamworths at Windsor. He was a big proponent of the breed.
When you earlier spoke of “wild pigs” some of us were thinking feral pigs like we have in the US in addition to domesticated strains. So I laughed with delight when they were Tamworths! Interesting to learn about turning off the electric fence for pigs.
Sage and Onion for pigs? 😂 Sounds as if Ben is ready to make some roast for supper.

Oh my gosh Theo is just so precious. Looks like Clare has the Midas touch.
I so look forward to your sharing your life every week. Thanks you!
I enjoy it when Luke can say something.
I adore the whole wilding experiment.
Awe, Claire has the touch.
Thank you for this.,
lovely and sweet
These are the best vlogs watching everyday life on the wonderful Mapperton Estate. Thanks a million!!!!
I agree with Chris---HORSES are definitely much better than pigs for being friendly with.
Greetings from Alaska! So enjoying the Mapperton wildlife!
You all need to get some possums and Racoons to run around o. The Mapperton estate!
So precious watching you with the animals. I just love you both.
The woodland area is great!
Gosh WHAT an episode! May be my favorite yet!!
Just beautiful there Luke. The animals are amazing and you are so enthusiastic about it all that it makes me smile. Great job you and your team are doing. Hope you and Julie have a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday. 💕
oh sweet theo...so good to see him looking happy and healthy... i love the name of the pigs...cant wait to see the little piglets.
I just love little Theo ❤! So sweet! Wonder episode! 🎉 I miss your opening music and scenes that you use to have!
I thought you might make the sand pit in the shape of Illinois since that’s where you hail from Julie! Hello from a fellow Illinoian.
Good idea

You can tell really easy which one is pregnant, I said to myself when the pig was coming out of the trailer that she was in the motherly way.

Bacon and ribs. I'd say riblets but that's saved for piglets
Chops and BBQ

Hallo 👋
I love the pigs!
How about 3 pigs instead of two named Straw, Wood, and Brick?
Here in Canada we have feral pigs that are causing damage to our crown forests. They are hard to control.

Awe Theo is cute
You need to put less paint on your brush. Less paint will avoid the bleed and give you a cleaner look.
If u get a 3rd pig name it ham and cheese
Shredded beef
Cooool❤🎉
Sage&Onion!
Love the stockmans,"dont know what name they are; dont know their age" but they are cute pigs. Make lovely bacon sandwiches one day,for your cafe.

Do sage & Onion have shelter?
