Lmao that thing is a laser (literally)
PTSD kicks in
Takes me back to season 3 ranked getting 3rd party by a squad a mile away with charge rifles.
I mean you are not wrong but there are still pretty unbalanced weapons
honestly, have a high-dmg 50.bmg type sniper, and a lower cal 308 cal type sniper, make the 50 a 75% to oneshot, and make the bolt action a 30-50 dmg, or something like that. as i like the sniper in its current state, a hitscan, it FEELS rewarding not like i will miss every shot because i had one milisecond of lag.
"No netcode issues"
Siege: *chuckles nervously*
Well one is trying to be the new hotness while the other is forever jank lol
God I wish siege had good netcode or sound.
@@degenerationx90 Did something happen to it? Still remember the game having rare issues with sound and netcode. Though that was Echo and Hibana dropped years ago. Don't even recognize the game anymore lmao
Siege has been tested to have one of the better netcodes nowadays. Problem is it's VERY easy to detected slight delays in a game like siege especially with 1 hit headshots, and replay cams. If siege was a different style of game, people wouldn't be saying anything.
Tarkov: *melting from nervousness*
I'm gonna be heartbroken if this game flops. You can see that someone REALLY wanted to revive the gunplay of arena shooters and present it to a new generation of sweaty tryhards. There is more passion in this than any other BR, and for that alone it has my respect.
I am so sad I never got into arena shooters when younger, they look like the most fun shit but are pretty dead and almost impossible to get to anyway
@@EndOfExistence1337 diabotical is a new arena shooter and it got some interest, give it a shot I'd say.
Well kids are dumb AF nowadays and need everything to be fortnite so dont get your hopes up
More passion? Have you seen apex legends?
@@EndOfExistence1337 Titanfall 2 is being revived thanks to its steam release, it's one of the best arena shooters out there
Long TTK isn't a bad thing, tbh. Makes it so that you can't step outside and immediately be lasered like in Warzone or PUBG, which means less incentive to camp.
Yes exactly
Yeah, and it means you get more of a chance to learn from your mistakes in game, rather than getting one tapped and having to wait potentially 15 minutes to try again.
Long TTK is actually awesome in BR games, it is the top reason I enjoy apex more than pubg or warzone. Nothing is more frustrating than looting for 5 minutes only to get killed before being able to react by a guy camping somewhere.
It can become bad. You may never be able to win a 2v1 no matter how good you are.
Yeah I thought I hated it at first, but if you get used to weapon swapping it really feels like doom/quake/unreal/tribes. Atleast that the vibe I get, mixed with titanfall
Really good commentary. Just watching the game it felt like nothing had any real impact, and the sniper rifle issue is something that absolutely has to be addressed if they want to pick up any players from Apex or Warzone. One think I noticed that looks really cool is the lack of a minimap. Having to look at your surroundings to notice the degradation is a neat twist.
Yeah but there is a map you can open.
It has a press to view map only option.
A minimap you can see while you are running or fighing is the best thing you can have
And with a game that has this movement the game needs a minimap
@@mrlasanham4931 I respectfully disagree. With the way the map, like an arena, seems over the top littered with inferiors and even pretty intense cover on some rooftops, it seems likely you're very well meant to stop in these places to look at the map, which introduces a nice dichonomy between - Wall scrmabling, Rooftop leaping movement - And Having to find a defendable building/arena if you need to check your map. A thing which we don't even see seagull do, so it's not so important that we need a minimap.
And with how the buildings create these ant-hill like, vertical spaces, I don't know how actually beneficial it would be to look at at all times.
"this is my childhood" as a nearly 40 year old whose first fps experience was doom in 1994 and was a die hard unreal tournament(s) fan, that comment goes straight to the feels

Just remember guys, it's from the same team who brought you rainbow six siege. It could start out shit/massive issues, but a good concept and they work on making the execution better.
Also the devs that gave us ghost reckon breakpoint. So it could also be shit
@@gabrielov8027 No, Ghost Recon Breakpoint was developed by Ubisoft Paris, Hyper Scape is developed by Ubisoft Montreal the guys that made Siege. Two different Studios.
Too bad that doesn't work. R6 is a UNIQUE game, offering a unique experience you cannot find much elsewhere, even CS:GO. HyperScape is not unique, and you can play any of the currently MASSIVELY POPULAR BR titles your friends already play.
If this isn't working well, with good balance and well-made content drops, then maybe it might stand a chance. Right now it has to convince me to abandon my progress into Warzone to play this, and it honestly is not appealing at all. If I'm not going to play, I know two of my friends won't play. If they don't play, none of our groups will play this game because nobody will really want to play in a group. This happens to plenty, and why people stick to popular, widely available games like Fortnite, Apex and Warzone, that already has multiple seasons of content to work through.
@@DamienDarksideBlog R6 a unique game?
Lol siege is ass
just that fact that its an arena rpg and not a tactical shooter a-la Valorant is enough for me. Nothing's come close to 6s TF2 back in 2014

@@shehbleh8931 oof, those ruwin/tlr/platinum days were so incredibly fun to watch. I used to also remember watching Seagull's roamer VODs for hours. Better times
Why do you say that as if tactical shooters is the recent trend people are milking?
@@BrownieKuma72 I'm not saying it as if it's something being milked. I'm just tired of games like r6s/valorant (games with low mobility and low TTK) dominating the markets. I just want Quake clones back
@Anthony Hopkins he's talking about 6 vs 6 Competitive TF2
Love the huge Urban setting. Complete freedom from streets to interiors to rooftops using the movement style of the game seems so fun to watch. I love the intensity of a looty/micro-managey apex game but one thing is running through dusty plains is not nearly as fun to look at.
Edit: I love the Crown mechanic, that was a clutch win. And the way the districts collapse makes for some really interesting moments with how the buildings disintegrate.
Honestly I like the aesthetic appeal of the map and surroundings compared to Apex Legends. Looks very simple and has a clean design.
they use the map from AC unity and change it so its looks like from the future.
to me it feels to noisy for some reason and there does not seam to be that much thinking when it comes to the map design, it feels super generic in visual design aswell but that might be the point of it. not referring to the backgrounds and how the zone looks and dissolves, that is kinda cool.
it does feel like its a cluster fuck of info to the frickin frontal lobe (i know nothing about brians,im just saying this to emphasize how mind numbing it looks) i think if they fix the map itd become way better, at the moment i thinks apex is way better in terms of map design

“The fact that we have a hit scan sniper rifle in a battle royale game is a massive problem”
Charge rifle: *chuckles nervously*
Charge Rifle WAS busted back when it was introduced but I don't think it's very strong anymore. Hopefully Ubisoft can learn something from that.
It is not that busted tho. You get one shot and all the mobilty and hacks makes it hard to hit if you miss your first shot.
@@cpenner7086 The reason it was busted was because the map was terrible for loot dispersion and takes a lot of time to go from one loot to the next. It was more RNG than usual and with people scrambling to run half the map because the circle spawns at the other side then you will have these people getting toasted by squads that got lucky to find a charge rifle and they can't do anything to fight back with.

Hyperscape is a brilliant take on battle royale with classic Arena style gameplay with fully utilized 3d space and mobility. This is a game with tremendous potential and is shaping up to be possibly one of the best in the genre. At least it would've been hadn't I know it is being made by Ubisoft.

This game looks alright but the voice acting of the characters is terrible, I’m also not a big fan of the character designs. But the gameplay looks alright, definitely a fresh take on the loot system.
it just launched man. thats stuff they can add at any point. you dont need big titty anime chicks in an arena fps

I really really hope this game does well. It's so much fun and feels so comfortable compared to games like Valorant where it is constant 1000% brain power. The chases are fun imo. I was very skeptical on the feel of the game from watching others play it, but I actually feel that the guns have a good amount of weight to them. When watching it seems to light and floaty, but in game, at least for me, it feels really nice
like the new format bud, was fun watching you streaming this game
All pick ups and Arena Style Gameplay is all I needed to see. I'm going to play this for sure.

Oh
That was quality, hope this slaps as well as it looks like.
Everything looks great from visuals to movement, my only problem is the gunplay it looks like the guns either do so little damage or everyone has alot of hp, note that I haven’t played the game yet cause it isn’t on ps4
I love how it shows how many are left in the squad you're trying to kill
Btw another small (but noticeable) problem in this game is that because you heal overtime, you might have to hit time one an extra couple of times because they regenerated
Hopefully that makes sense

Absolutely love the huge urban Parisian styled map and as someone who played quake 3 arena and the 99' unreal tournament as a kid I can say that this could fill the arena shooter hole that's been empty for so long (I played quake champions but I had performance problems with it and the game felt weird for some reason). Keep in mind that I'm saying this just by looking at gameplay as I don't have a key because I don't want to spend whole day watching twitch streams so I'm going to wait for it to become available for everyone.
Ubisoft: hmmm, how can we reuse assassins creed assets in a new IP.....
looks kinda fun tho
which game?
@@manbat4582 unity
Lmao apart from the Parisian rooftops whats an asset flip? Isnt Ubisoft french?
@George Gombas That or just a similar aesthetic.
I mean they did build a scaled replica of the Notre Dame why not reuse it 😂
This seems more my speed. I grew up playing arena shooters like TF2, Halo, and in high school Overwatch, and while I do enjoy BR's at times, they're far closer to tactical shooters. I like many aspects of tactical shooters, but they're generally too slow for me. Titanfall 2 is probably the closest thing to a tactical shooter that I've actually loved and played a lot of.
If i have to be honest, as a guy who has mixed feeling for BR games, this game feels more like a TDM mode than a br which is a good thing. I love the game as a average FPS player in Siege, Valorant and Overwatch. I think hitscan weapons makes the game easier but thats just my opinion.
I would love to see an arena fps game that is based on show, and that will gather a huge amount of spectators as it was for example the Hunger Games movie series, with everyone watching waiting to see if their favorite player wins.
A map with traps and other mind boggling things that will force you to think besides having to have skill in shooting.
To keep the spectators focused, they should be able to be caught in the game somehow, either with voting, for example vote what npc to hunt the players, or trap, or hazard to activate, or betting? I don't really know I'm just throwing ideas here, it would be cool to hear the simulated cheers of thousands of people when you clutch and to other crazy stuff.
0:34 set in a futuristic video game world, kinda looks like Tron....
Ready Player One: oke (sad face)
Does anyone know why seagull has not uploaded in a hot minute?
They need stuff do more damage, with less firerate, so you can have a heavier bolt animation, make it feel heavier. Would love to see smg's, so you can parkour around and not just snipe
More SMGs and pistols! There should be way more games where pistols and SMGs are viable
This game looks reallllyyyyyy GOOD! I hope they work everything OUT!!! Iv been wanting a game like this for so longggg!!! I love apex but this looks so damn good.
Congrats on your second YT video Mr. Birdman
When he runs on roofs or metal surfaces Ubisoft used the same sound as Siege when you are running on metal lol
Thats why its in beta
Me in the beginning: “Is this a sponsored video?”
Me at the 8 min mark: “Lmao”
I totally agree with what he said at 9:00, my main problem with battle royale games is the lack of skill based matchmaking, meaning in Apex I can play alone as a low lvl against premade squads of people with 3000 hours in game and it's honestly so frustrating I had to quit, and I doubt devs want the new players to quit their games
but at the same time they want people with high investment to feel good and get a lot of kills, hence they throw a bunch of noobs at them.
nice overview, thanks mr. influencer for giving me that interest for a game
I seems pretty cool. From what i see there is not a lot happening on screen at all times and the colors highlight each other. one of the main reasons I don't like watching apex is because I find it hard to see at times, not really pleasing to the eye. The gameplay gave me the old H1Z1 vibes where its fast enough to be casual and fun, while also not being the fast paced fortnite and apex where many things come on screen seemingly out of nowhere. As you said the sniper sounds really broken and rifles sound useless.
honestly not a fan of the ui, having like 5 different colors on top of the colors in the real world doesnt really look that good. Some of the other design choices seem a bit dated too
Same thing for me: it looks BLEAK af. And just random. No real artistic direction, just looks like yet another Battle Royale with nothing new. Thing will be dying quickly.
Роман Мэрк nothing new... it literally has arena style shooting
I hope to god that Ubisoft can pull this one off because a fast paced shooter that requires consistent aim due to high TTK is exactly what I've been looking for, for a long time.
Quake?
My favorite load out is heal, skybreaker and ripper to make the soldier 76 set up, slot of the abilities in this are similar to abilities in overwatch lol
Love to see an arena shooter, hate to see that Dev's still don't realize movement abilities are almost always the single most over-centralizing and powerful core-aspect of any competitive game.
If they make movement abilities core yet have many variations I'd love it. Make one be tribes ascend style slide-acceleration, one as a temporary wall/platform making mechanic and stuff like that, it could be cool as heck.
@@UsernameCantGetMuchLongerCanIt *coughs in titanfall 2*
While it's definitely got potential, it's gonna need a metric _$#!+ton_ of polishing before it's ready to compete with the Big Three. Right now it absolutely _screams_ "indie game", not something from a AAA dev like Ubisoft.
I'm interested to see where this game goes.
the simplified inventory stuff sounds like a HUGE plus for me
Looks like it'll be fun on release, dunno if it will last tho
The problem I have with this game is that it looks a bit generic in general. The animations, movements, guns, powers, etc all look and feel very boring. Not that it is bad, but style matters to a lot of people more than just graphics and the way it looks right now is kind of a turn off even though I like this gameplay.
PixelLightShow Just because skill and gameplay is a focus of an arena shooter does not mean that stylization is pointless. Many shooters with similar gunplay work so well because they have that perfect balance of having skill behind what you do in game, and backing it up with appealing visuals that supplement what you are doing.
@PixelLightShow why don't they just make an arena shooter without bothering with graphics then? just have players be floating hitboxes, it should be just as good yeah?
Sobepome hate to break it to you but this is not an arena shooter.
There is an audience for both sides.
If a game hopes to be at all competitive, it should err on the side of worse graphics m, better optimized. Something like Valorant.
Agreed. It looks like they looked a lot at apex for some of hte game mechanics, but then just made everything ugly and look cheap without adding anything new. I doubt it will become more popular than apex let alone the other top BR's.
This my experience with gun play. My aim with the heavier guns (shotguns, sniper, explosives, deagle) has never been better on any other battle royal. I will say I have a problem with the heavy machine gun and the ripper but I haven't played for long so maybe I just need more adjustments with my sensitivity. The Abilities also felt very natural to me coming from many ability based games. The game to me looks amazing for FTP, maybe it's because I am not used to games that have such vibrant lighting (The character models are clearly ftp though). For me the ultra fast mobility is what I think sets this game apart which I love because it makes it very satisfying when running and juking the enemy. This for me is the most fun I have ever had in a battle royal and also the most for pretty much any game (Valorant is fun, but one of the reasons I stopped playing Overwatch is because people use abilities like babies with building blocks and that carried over to Valorant. People also will ONLY start rotating to the other site when their whole team died at the other point and their is 5 people on sight with bomb planted (Sorry for the rant)). For me this game is a 8/10, Only knocked down because though the abilities came natural, that is a sign that they are simple, which they are, but they showed that with that ball ability they aren't completely close minded so hopefully we will get more creativity when the full game comes out and further updates. Normally that would just be one point down, but the abilities are so simple its 2 points. Like cmon, Invis, checking through walls, a wall that blocks fire/LOS, a teleport, a heal, and a self shield. The only ones are unique/somewhat unique is the mine, the slam, and especially the ball. I feel like if the games other aspects are this simple, we could probably go to like 25-20 abilities before it gets to hard to track. If they focus on the abilities this game goes to a 10/10 for me, but if this game starts doing movement restricting abilities (I know slam technically restricts your movement with the knock back, but I have seen much worse than that, cough cough Doomfist cough cough Bridgette cough cough Hammond cough cough.), or even stuns, this goes straight to a 7, maybe even a 6. Btw, I do respect his opinions, just giving mine. It was a good commentary and you were fair to the game, unlike certain twitch chats that will call any game bad or a mobile game when its graphics aren't God of War levels of good.
I need and want more of these kinds of videos for a new game.
It looks super interesting with the arena style. Seagull touched on a few issues/worries I typically have with these types of games and he makes it sound like they could be major problems if not addressed. But let's hope they do some work before release and make it great.
2 types of people:
I really like this art design, i like the sleekness
this is so bleak and messy this sucks
I just want Team Fortress 3. It’s all I’ve ever wanted lol. I played TF2 for years, I was around in the comp scene before hats.. if competitive TF2 had been in its prime during the gaming boom, it would have been huge and I want to see it get the following it deserves. So yeah, Team Fortress 3 please.
Valve can't count to 3.
Will it be on console and what sort of price if it will be
the Aesthetics are great. Leaving everything else alone I love the "zone" mechanic's visual.
This looks promising and cool but knowing ubisoft it will be plagued with micro-transactions :(
Doesn't every free to play game have microtransactions.
They said they are going to change about that
Just looking at the game, it seems its trying to do too many things at once and has so many elements that just do not fit together.
Like guns and abilities? Look at valorant. High mobility and fast paced gameplay? Look at titan fall.
@@Nnexialist id say r6 siege than valorant about guns and abilities.
I feel like they need to add weight to some guns and you can make ars feel like hitscan or just make them hit scan but snipers need to have some drop and travel time and idk how they would balance the other weapons
So serious question, how is a hit scan sniper different than a Kraber from Apex? Does it not have any bullet drop or something?
A kraber has travel time and bullet drop. A hitscan weapon has no travel time at all and no bullet drop. For reference: The Charge Rifle and the select-fire mode Havoc are both hitscan. Hitscan weapons are just point and shoot with no requirement to predict enemy movement/adjust for distance so theyre very easily op compared to other weapons.
This is some of the worst voice acting I’ve heard. This is on par with old school fan dubbed anime.
I wonder how well this runs on like a 940mx min requirements are a gt640 which very low but is that for 60 or 30 fps.
minimum is often for 30fps 720p iirc
I would love to see arena games like Unreal Tournament or Quake have a solid and strong come back, hopefully we are heading to that reality
Third game, it was with my friends (they are good quake players, like ~1.5k hours in quake) and we made in total 53 kills...
I don't know if the game is in any state to add weapons, but I would like to see a chain-saw-sword or something like that. (it's a weapon that came to mind when I first saw the artstyle of this game)
damn, seagull is good at narrating... I'm speechless how narration and gameplay were seamlessly connected.
can you bhop in this game? can you do quake stuff?
9:22 I completely agree. In every single fps game that I have played, from battle royale to tactical shooters, my KD hovers around 1.4 . But, in this game, I'm consistently getting over 12 kills a game. Right now, it feels that there is no skill-based matchmaking at all.
a new game for Gull to wreck folks in! That crown gimmick at the end was intense too.
This game actually looks pretty fun. It's removed all of the bs filler that I hate about BRs (looting, running around a HUGE map for 15 minutes only to get sniped from a kilometer away, etc) and implemented some interesting mechanics that reduce the game time even more. That was my main problem with BRs: the games either take two minutes or upwards of an hour. Might try it once it releases
Kind of interesting watching the world digitize and delete but then this just makes me wish we got a full-fledged Tron game. I too don't think this will really go anywhere.
This is an excellent overview
That sniper's swap animation is trippy
I really want to play this game, but it says my display drivers are 17.0 and not 20.0 so I can't play. I've updated all drivers and idk what to do so I guess I won't be playing it
For me this game peaked my interest and i loved it straight away because normal br games seemed to slow for me but this game is super fast which i like. sniper needs to be blown out of existence tho
I agree the sniper being both hitscan and oneshot is too much
they should have like
one heavy sniper that oneshots and is projectile
one quick sniper that doesnt do a lot of damage but has super fast projectiles
and one hitscan sniper that does moderate damage and has a moderate recharge time
or something of the sort
the problem is that cause of the way that upgrading works the weapons must be fairly limited in number
but overall I quite like the game so far
Nerf the sniper damage or give it a huge tracer bullet path like the machina?
In my opinion I think you should be able to equip abilities before the match and there definitely needs to be a handgun or pistol and a neft to the sniper for it to be semi successful.idk
good to see Seagull, Dummy and Clockwork playing together
TF2 dinosaurus on the job
The TTK looks different from when I was watching jackfrags play it I don't if it's because he was missing alot of shots or if they changed it. But the game looks fun especially the restore you're teammate's system
Do we know if it will come out on console?
This just really makes me want to play Warsow again
it looks like a decent fun game, nice to see someone dare to try on a arena style shooter. but it does look like an asset flip game and that needs to change. and obviously the 1s hs sniper
I love the mechanics of this game so much. It would be so cool if they did this in a team-based, closed map design with weapons around the map. Wait a sec....
i do enjoy the fact that there is basically no fiddling around with attachments, or anything. its just streamlined the BR mechanics out of the game basically. which is sick
ADS is still unfortunetly requried though
I just really want a battle Royale kinda game where you play as a creature and you eat things and evolve depending on what you ate and if gives you certain perks and cons. Like it all depends on what you develop throughout the game. Maybe have some kind of adaption element to it where you can maybe mutate your arm or shoulders into plasma projectiles or ice spikes or something, ugh. Something like the primal Zerg. :(
This is great, please play more
What an insightful commentary on the game, made me fully understand the current situation of the game
I have been wanting something like this for a long time I enjoy fast-paced BR in a long time other than apex most games that are coming out are way to slow you have to hold a corner for 2 full minutes and the moment you turn away you are dead so I'm excited about this game and I hope it doesn't flop
Does anybody have an idea of when this is coming to consoles?
Is it gonna be available on PlayStation?
I wish seagull would review all new games, I love his content :D
