    I used to immediately stop listening to people who'd advise me to treat myself with compassion and love. I always thought that it was some sort of spiritual mumbo jumbo that would not ever help me achieve my goals. I've finally come to the conclusion that the mumbo jumbo people have been right all along. Who else should be on your side if not you? If you get rejected, if you fail, then you are responsible for yourself. Realize why you failed, remember it's okay and look for another approach to the problem. There is no point in beating oneself up. When something stops working, find something else. It's that logical. Computers don't beat themselves up. They intelligently find solutions to problems.
    I am tired of being the nice shy guy who'd cringe at himself on daily basis. Your videos have motivated me a lot. I used to be able to ruin my entire day because of one single thought. Now I am finally mindful and free and can discern bad thoughts from productive thoughts. Thank you for your videos.

      The expression "Looking out for number one" usually has negative connotations but if you aren't taking care of you how can you take care of others. You could beat yourself up but never in the history of the world has that improved an outcome. Learn from your mistakes and live your life without the burdens of those repetitive thoughts. You are awesome my friend.

    Thank you Dr. Aziz. I have been struggling with flashbacks from a horrible event in my life 12 years ago. I realized the major problem
    Was I was no longer on my own side during these flashbacks. I literally googled how to be on my own side again. You popped right up. I thought “someone out there understands this.” I purchased your book through audible. I am on chapter 7. I would give anything to speak to you someday to thank you but Lao to explore this problem, I assume is PTSD. Anyway, your book and videos are having a tremendously positive impact on my life. Blessings
    Abby

    I have decided to be on my own side and accept myself for who I am. After much self reflection and also watching some of these videos, I have realized that I have an emotional compulsion to seek the approval and affirmation of others, irrespective of the psychological cost to myself. This I need to work on, the fear of other people!!!

    I took accountability,
    I've felt shame,
    I'm ready to forgive myself and move on
    Trying to be better 😌 learning from those mistakes
    I can only beat myself up so much
    I'm ready to walk in my power and really really try to change all the negative and false narratives I feed myself.
    I'm freeing myself from this burden
    My focus is on being a better person to others and owning up to my mistakes and having a confident mentality not a loser mentality

    Hey Dr. Aziz! Today was my first day at a new job. It involved being around a lot of new people. Along with learning new things and helping customers. I kept repeating this to myself today and it was calming. Also I was playing your videos in my headphones while cleaning. Thanks again Dr Aziz. I've been sending some of your videos to my friends on Snapchat.

      Colin Jackson That's ok man! I don't know who I am either but I thinks that's ok because I am working on it. Give yourself more compassion. Meditate. Keep watching Dr. Aziz's videos and I'll see you someday on the other side of the bridge.

    • @GetMoreConfidence
      @GetMoreConfidence  7 лет назад +1

      Colin, being kind to yourself and showing yourself love will help guide you to learn who you are. Just make sure you ask yourself why you are doing something you may not like but do on a regular basis. Perhaps you don't care for that activity but just got in the habit. It took me years to figure out who I was and who I wanted to be but I got there and so will you. Keep following the guidelines I lay out and things will come together.

    Hi Aziz! I held sort of a public speak yesterday and I think it went pretty well. But afterwards I still get those doubtful thoughts of ”was it good enough” and all that. I treat them with love and I sooth myself until I’m feeling better. But then they pop up again. When can I confirm that I’m done thinking of this event and move one to the next? And how should I treat those again upcoming thoughts that I just proved wrong?

    • @plompennilsson2427
      @plompennilsson2427 5 лет назад +1

      It kind of sounds to me like I should make peace with every single thought that pops up in my head. You have to be crazy in order to keep up with that. What’s the right way to treat negative thoughts?

    • @GetMoreConfidence
      @GetMoreConfidence  5 лет назад +1

      Acknowledge them and let them pass on by. The more you practice this the easier it gets.

  • @brilliantwriter4856

    How do you deal with hatred from others?
    In a healthy way?
    Especially when they stare? How can you react to starring?
    Thanks Dr. 😊

    • @GetMoreConfidence
      @GetMoreConfidence  4 года назад

      I believe this may be a case of overthinking a situation. If you're getting hatred from others walk away and don't associate with them again. If someone is staring simply ignore them. It's not a contest. :)

    It's certainly better than attack and defence and consistently plotting to sell yourself to others but is it doable? In both personal and business level everyone is interested in themselves so it's gets to how to do the advertising for goods.
