  • ** UPDATE 15th June 2021 ** - I sent an email to Cool Cabanas and they responded quickly to say they are sending out a replacement for the black cap end that broke - great customer service!
You've loved sitting under your Cool Cabana on the beach, but now you can also use it on the grass with this additional accessory kit. I got through what you get in the kit, how to set it all up, and some additional tips.

Probably should pull the sides out to make them tight so it doesn't blow away

When you add the second rod it does not lock so wind can take it up?

Hi, what do you think is better to get set up with a regular hammer or a rubber mallet with a tent peg remover hook?

Hi Julie, rubber mallet is prob a better option, less likely to damage your stakes, and also bigger surface area so more likely to make contact. Tent peg remover is a nice to have. A nice trick if you’re caught shorthanded is to use a spare tent peg to hook through the grounded peg - gives you something more to hold and pull on than trying to pull grounded peg directly…hope that makes sense

And a rubber mallet hurts less when you accidentally whack you hand or finger ... Just saying.

Do you think this grass kit could be used in a courtyard (between tile cracks)? 🧐😅

You would have to have a very fortunate arrangement of cracks! I guess you could use the grass central stake (cause it’s shorter) and use the sand pockets to minimise penetrations. Depends on the material in the cracks, as you still have to drive the grass stake a ways. Would be trying to find a solution without any staking required, like a pop up canopy with sandbags. I have a video on setting ip a canopy on concrete. Hope that helps!

Would it be ok to hammer the spike sand that comes with the original coolcabana?

Hey Nelson, sorry late reply, you could try the sand peg, but its quite long and unless the ground is very soft you might struggle, and it could sit a little unstable

That canopy looks waay too flimsy for my liking...

Hi Bruce, it really depends on how deep you get the stake, and on the ground type. It's obviously not the same as a steel gazebo, but you'd be surprised at how well if performs. Have a look at my cool cabanas setup video and you'll see it holding up on a breezy day on a beach. ruclips.net/video/v_BHWOBanFs/видео.html
