Jacob Collier: Music, Mindset, and Creativity

Five-time GRAMMY winner Jacob Collier is hailed as one of the most prodigious and creative forces of his generation. Since the split-screen, multitrack, viral music videos he posted on RUclips as a teen were discovered by Quincy Jones, the 27-year-old multi-instrumentalist, singer, arranger, composer, and producer has gone on to collaborate with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Hans Zimmer, Pharrell, Coldplay, SZA, BTS, Ty Dolla $ign, and Rapsody. Currently, Collier is completing a four-volume musical project, Djesse.
In a unique masterclass on music and the creative mindset hosted by USC Marshall professor David Belasco, Collier gives the audience a rare, intimate, and live glimpse into his art and process. From the piano bench, he airs his thoughts on music and creativity, shares songs and stories, and fields questions from USC students.
