USC Visions and Voices 2022 Sizzle Reel
Thank you all for doing this! This album ranks among my all time favorites and will forever be a classic.
Hearts!!!
Patti Austin ❤❤❤❤❤ Q's goddaughter! 70+ years in the business! Living legend.....
First singer: "Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most" sing it way behind the beat, conversatioonally!! I'm learning so much watching your Master class. Thank you Miss. Austin
Last year a German Orchestra did a Curtis Mayfield tribute, and all I thought was wow BET... The US has so many talented singers and actors who are black and they keep pushing the same 5 artistes to are mediocre at best.
It was my honor to be coined “fierce” by Ms. Austin herself. I aim to channel her guidance in my future work! Thank you for this masterclass! - Lionna Romans <3

So blessed to see this❤
Give to the Seventh Day Adventist Church Organization some credit for operating Oakwood University.
WOW! What a treat to see the liner notes of many of my favorite albums live and together on stage! Thank you!
This vocal masterclass with legend Patti Austin and singers who participated was amazing! Ms. Austin is beautiful, talented, and a class act! I really enjoyed watching Patti and everyone sing and do what they do best!
Incredible production. Timeless!
Incredible!🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for doing this. This is one of my favorite albums to listen to, especially during Christmas.
Awesome event and most appreciative and proud of the impact Oakwood College, my Alma Mater, now Oakwood University had in bringing together the 2nd generation of Alumni’s children, which led to Mervyn, Tony and Claude coming together and intersecting with Quincy, Tevin, Will, Gail to bring us this awesome Album, my favorite Christmas album, that I can play year round and get the same esthetic reaction to the musical genius of voices, arranging, producing and engineering talent to create this album. Thank you
I have been singing Handel’s Messiah since I was a teenager in school choirs. I actually bought & listened to the entire vinyl set of albums several times. The same for “Handel’s Young Messiah” (1990) CD…then came “Handel’s Soulful Messiah” 1992. For the last 32 years that recording is played for the whole month of December in my home or car. I have bought CDs for my nephew/niece’s family to have for their Christmas Day music in their homes with my grandnephews/grandnieces to hear. A shout-out to Tony Shepperd from Riverside, CA. 👋🏽
Thank you Patti .. Amazing.
Awesome 🎉❤❤.. Beautiful, Timeless Voice..
Take6 is awesome. Hopefully Mervyn will arrange for them again
Patti, the vocalist genius, and what a legend she truly is ⚘️💖 Where would music be today without these wonderful, gracious, humble people. Still to this present day, I never stopped listening to Quincy and Patti. The music is heart-felt and yet so breathtaking. The music and Patti's vocals takes you on a journey and beyond. I feel so blessed & fortunate i was around growing up to enjoy that music "era" 🎤🎹🥁🪘🎷🎺🎸🎶
THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN A STAPLE IN MY LIFE FROM IT'S INITIAL RELEASE, AND REMAINS ON MY PLAYLIST TO THIS DAY! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for this. I play various cuts from this epic album all year. The Clark Sisters with Commissioned! Bomb! Please, some conversation about those groups and the process leading to the song. I grew up in a Hispanic American Pentecostal Church where we sang in Spanish and sprinkled in the occasional Black Gospel selection, and since the Clark Sisters and Commissioned were also from Pentecostal Holiness Churches, we counted them as OURS too. So much love for them. They were pioneers in creating a whole new sound and audience for grounded Gospel. Again, thank you!!!
YESSSSS!!!!! 🙌🏽🎉😍✨️
Awesome evening
Really great giving a shout-out to Thomas Whitfield.
Thank you for this 🎶 Merry Christmas ✝️ But Mervyn not listening to this album in over 20 years and Claude having never listened in its entirety is mind blowing 🤯
cannot stand that colonial flag of the united squatter states, not very punk
I really enjoyed watching this Master Class on Patti Austin. It was very enlightening and informative to see the creative process for the music I love listening to. I ❤ Patti Austin and have been listening to her music for over 40 years.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The sounds that inspired us and continues to. Thank you 🙏🏽
❤❤❤❤❤
A Christmas classic. Simply amazing.
This was just lovely! Thank you all, and especially Quincy for the love in the music 💝
The guy with the Winter Song will b3 good
The l question by the generation Z was quite impactful
Patti Austin would have so many stories
I remember talking to Mervyn after a concert that he did with Take6 at Morgan State University in Baltimore just before he left the group. When i asked him what was he planning, he spoke about his interest in reimagining Handel through the eyes of African American music. I thought that was an amazing goal, but the Messiah is held in such high regard, i didn't fully understand how he would even take the first bite of that huge project, musically, lyrically, vocally or philosophically! Several years later, I was in a Christian bookstore looking for some fresh music for my church and i stunbled upon the CD! What can say? Mind totally blown and the entire project gets played throughout the year every year! ",And He Shall Purify....!❤
Thank you all for this. I never stopped playing Hansel’s Messiah A Soulful Celebration since it came out in 1992.
Same here! I cannot get But Who May Abide the Day of His Coming out of my head and spirit.
Now, I see why he left Take 6. Initially, i thought it was for some arrangement problem. When you have 2 great arrangers in one group, it’s difficult to create space tp explore their greatness. But I see that M W wanted to do a lot of things he didn’t have time to do touring with Take 6
He’s such a genius!
One of the best ever! She is iconic and a musical legend!❤️🎁❤️
I wanna know, if Qunicy Jones were alive to see 👀 this, I wanna know what he would say???
Greetings from Argentina. Love Mev Warren Music.
OMG, I saw James Ingram sing that song with another female artist, and I literally felt like he was stalking her like a bull getting ready to charge. It was so sexy and I loved it! And I was right on point with what I saw.
This video was really great to see. Thanks for sharing! Btw, the 10 hour video from Tony Shepperd, I want that so badly! 😊
Right?! Whether it does turn into a documentary or he just wants to upload all that raw footage, I will watch every second of it! 🙌🏾 What a masterful body of work.
Would love to hear about the Clark Sister/Commissioned collaboration
Thank you so much for posting this. Music Nerds need more of these 🎶
O Thou That Tellest Good Tidings to Zion was arranged by Cedric Dent
Now this is what we call a Masterclass. Legendary trainer and talented students. That black girl in the second group needs to do something with Incognito, she has the sound.
that’s me- thank you!
#THANKYOU ❤️🇱🇨!!!
Only six comments? What the.... This is an amazing watch - the whole thing. Thank you for posting it.
