I actually really liked otona, except for the horrible CGI monster and the Time flower, I still don't understand why only Nozomi was affected by it. Also, i think that Coco and Nozomi's wedding scene is probably the most hilarious in the whole franchise
Honestly, Otana is just okay. Nothing horrible but it has many disappointing elements. I’m not too keen in how Komachi was done dirty, how some aspects of Nozomi’s character is represented, the environmental being very misleading, and Bell is an insanely contradictory villain. That’s not to say there aren’t elements I don’t like. Splash Star is pretty underrated so I’m quite happy they gotten some recognition. And I agree that Urara and Karen have the best arcs by far (Though imo they seriously nerfed Aqua’s fighting skills. Anyone who watched her in the Yes 5 seasons or the first movie knows how much of a badass she is) I can’t say I’ll be returning this show fondly anytime soon overall, which is a shame but I guess I wasn’t too excited about it to begin with when it came out. Great review!
I haven't been able to see this series, but my hope was that the girls could be Precures again. I guess that didn't happen? Though I'm an adult, most would say too old for the Pretty Cure series, I'm one of those people who like to imagine I'm a Precure out there saving the world (yes, it's corny and I probably would be bad at it - but a person can dream, can't they!?) After watching so many Magical Girl shows, I just wish they would make one where the adults can be Magical Girls. It's incredibly annoying when the world has this mentality that only children can believe in magic and miracles when that isn't the case for a lot of grown-ups; speaking for myself, mostly. It would be very inspiring to see that even adults, who have long put aside their innocent fantasies, to find a reason to believe in magic and miracles again. This current world badly needs to see and realize that there is still hope out there that is bigger than themselves. Mahoutsukai Precure would be the perfect show to convey that.
I totally agree with you and so what if it is corny that you imagine ourselves as a Precure I think it is beautiful.I like to think because of our fave magical girls we want to be better version of yourself.I think it is a beautiful idea of an anime adult magical girl.
as someone who never watched splash star nor yes 5. I think the hook of watching them navigating adult lives was pretty entertaining, could watch a season of just that even. Though the antagonists were really lackluster, something I enjoyed was seeing the cures take a more proactive approach. I feel like if the villain had more going on with her in terms of lore it could've been interesting
There was a lot of things who were dissapointing for me; We don't really see the cures as adults and all they did was drinking at a bar, we NEVER saw as adult cures either which is sad, i didn't care about the pollution message or Coco helping another kingdom, Komachi was barely there, Mai and Saki transformed ONE time if i remember, the villain is not memorable or scary. It's not a boring show but could have been better if it has less side plots, an interresting villain AND adult cures. If i have to rate it, i give Otona precure a 6|10. Not sure i will rewatch it a hundred time like for Smile, Splash star or Hearthcatch precure 🙂
I wasn't expecting adult cures but I would've liked to see them solve their problems with adult skills, and not the magical powers they had as teenagers.
Shoehorning the Max Heart team at the end was probably the worst thing this show did. They are literally the anniversary girls and just getting them in a cameo for some damage control of the series is ughhhh. The rest was alright, I guess they could've improved a bit if they made an episode about Kurumi and Kurumi only. She could've tied the climate crisis with her dream of being prime minister.
I honestly don’t think Otona was bad and I personally thought it was an 8/10 for me. While I do agree with some of the criticism, I really did enjoy this season especially near the end of the show. Also idk if this is an unpopular opinion but I don’t really mind Nozomi ending up with Coco.
The whole reason this show was centered around climate change was because it was airing on some Educational TV channel while it was airing in Japan. I feel like apathy would've been a way better theme for this show to tackle with. Like, we even have the literal Shadows of human beings as the Monsters, it would've made more sense than saving the environment. I feel like an environmental theme would've been better for Healin' Good if it had a sequel season.
I feel like this show was a bit too ambicious for his own good. Bell's setup it's already pretty weird and since it doesn't have a lot of focus it ends up being kinda muddy. I think they should have gone for a more strightfoward villan, maybe just one that wants to destory earth with a magical kind of polution. They could still gives us the message about protecting the planet in a more strigthfoward way. I think the slice of life was handled pretty well (even for Komachi) and I like the incusion of the Splash Star girls since those two are probably never getting a sequel of their own (even if I'm upset they didn't inculde their faries) However I really disliked they included the Max Heart Trio. It messes with the canon by making you ask "Why did the Max Heart Trio never help the Yes 5 team during the origial series if they lived in the same city?!". And also how did the Yes5 team reconized Black and White, like they already knew eachother? Are you telling me the Yes 5 go go All star short is canon?! Lastly what the f**k are Nagisa and Honoka doing at the south poll?! Honoka still makes some sense because she might be a famous scientist or soemthing, but Nagisa!? What is she doing!? Teaching the penguis how to play Lacrosse?
The OG duo going to Antarctica was the most random thing I've seen. As for them knowing each other? I've long since given up on the all Stars continuity. I think it needed a simple villain, or no villain at all.
I am convinced this originally had nothing to do with pretty cure and I've seen plenty of Japanese comments on RUclips accusing marvelous of lazily combining multiple projects so they didn't have to dump the scraps.
The arcs I loved about Otona was Urara, the Splash Star girls and Karen ^^ The writing for other arcs could have been done better ^^ Great video as always ^^
Nice video I would say Otona Precure were alright or meh show . It pretty much the series where people would love or hate it . Urara , Karen , Splash star duo were my favourite characters in there series because they have nice development despite short amount of time . (I do feel bad for Rin and Komachi because they been sidelined even in their own centered episode)
I don't understand what Bell thought was going to happen when she got rid of all the people in the town. It would end up exactly the same as the vision from her future - abandoned and in disrepair. Was she intending to maintain the empty buildings by herself? Did she think the Shadows would do it? Her motivations make no sense and it really hurts the show in my opinion.
I actually really liked otona especially splash star eoisodes and i think wach of the girls struggles have been portrayed realistically also off topic but whats yiu opinion on the katest aipri ep i love tsumugi's song
Helpp I didn’t even know they made this 😭. It made me giggle on how they were like ya I have problems but the real problem is pollution. Also the fact that they turned into their younger self was silly. I wonder if they would do that to the other cures.
I was unfortunately not engaged with Otona even though I was intrigued with the premise ('cause finding where to stream it without paying is hard enough on its own). I'm a fan of precure despite having left the series for a while in favor of new interests. The show was a good concept, but the min focus clashed too much with what would've been a very nice epilogue to a great precure show!
I will admit that you didn't miss much. The show can easily be skipped by Yes 5 & GoGo fans. Outside an inisght into their adult personalities, there really isn't much to see.
This might be a controversial think to say, hope I'm using the work right but in Yes 5 and go go I never really liked Nozomi as a character or cure and in otona I still didn't really like her. Most of my favorite characters arcs were great I feel disappointed when rin and komachi didn't have enough time to shine. I still wonder why Nozomi wa the only one effected by the time flower like seriously I know she was the one who transformed most but I feel like the other girls should of been affected in some way. So it's probably a 5/10 for me. Especially because coco and Nozomi end up getting married.
I just got tired of seeing nozomi and her damn friends everywhere, especially since they announced very early that the splash star cures going to be important but...THEY WERE BARELY IN IT??
I agree, perhaps if the show touched on Bell’s targeting of individuals vs corporations and how she’s not actually helping her cause it would’ve been better. We’ve seen Precures redeem villains, and Bell could’ve been misguided by her misunderstanding of human culture and that would’ve elevated the show imo.
the monster is the only bad thing for me but the rest is good though it can be more done properly esp the villain arc (still kinda mad we're not getting adult version of the cure form)
Am i the only one who thinks Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom need a direct sequel? I think Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom needs a direct sequel and it will have the same structure as Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom, i want the Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom direct sequel to have the same structure as Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom. I need ask Toei Animation, Yoshimi Narita and the other writers that i want a direct sequel to Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom and tell Toei Animation, Yoshimi Narita and the other writers to make sure to add the same story structure as Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom in the Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom direct sequel. The Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom direct sequel will be the same as Power of Hope: PreCure Full Bloom but only much worse and more boring, more slower, more annoying and more repetitive than before.

Also, i think that Coco and Nozomi's wedding scene is probably the most hilarious in the whole franchise
I get that we were in Palmier Kingdom😭but why was he in fairy form???
I'm guessing she was affected the most cause she transformed the most times
bilibili got it❤
I haven't seen the show but I'm sad that the Cures reverted back to teenagers to transform instead of transforming as adults.
I didn't really expect them to change the iconic designs so I was fine with it. But I can see why it upset you
@@cureice I mean the way that they age backwards before becoming Cures again, but okay!

Glad you enjoyed it. I will be watching the Mahou Tsukai sequel, if only out of curiosity.
The pollution shade jokes got to me they are hilarious. And I didnt even hate the pollution angle in the show, the jokes are just that funny.
Thank you😂 It was pretty funny to edit too

I would be interested in a short OVA series following their regular lives.

I simply can't believe they paired her up with the adult man she met as a teenager. It's really gross.
