There is a story behind that. It's one of the true improv anime, the 3D was made after the seyuu have done the scenes, but all of the talking is improv with a base scene structure. Kotaro Ishidate, the director, always do anime that are half/nearly-full improv, with results from good (Tesagure Bakatsumono) to average (Himote House) to dreadful like Naria Girls. But he is the only one exploring improv in anime as a structural part of it. In this is a true experimentator.
I really wish I could remember the name of one anime I saw *so many* years ago. The protagonist was a detective who wore a business jacket and pants, a tie, and *no shirt*. It was a mini-series of 3 episodes, and in one episode, the antagonost was a woman who could make peacock feathers come out of her back. It was so freakin weird.
Ugh anime audios really need to stop using CGI. Haven't seen anyone use it well. It's passable for like cars and robots but it's obviously still not part of the rest of the animation.
Interesting. I kind of figured every anime just targeted specific audiences. And if you didn't like it, it simply wasn't for you. Never really thought there were ones out there we ALL hated. 🤷♀️
My personal pick for the worst anime, is bondage game. It may have only lasted two episodes, but it felt like 200. Every minute made me contemplate whether i should use bleach or not, as well as making me want to watch something else. The other more obvious pick, would be boku no piko. But as horrid and as dumb as this may sound, i had less of a time watching that, than bondage game. Yes, it was way worse of a watch to me.
Glad i've never heard of them. Pupa sounds interesting though. I am going to crap on one of my fave manga's: "Saiyuki". Apart from massive gaps in the story, the anime is atrocious. Mostly fillers with a bit of the original story thrown in but nothing makes sense, the animation is stiff, nowhere near gory as the manga and the gore is replaced by the enemy bursting into pixels.
Hey, I love Superior Defender Gundam Force!! ❤❤❤❤ I grew up watching it on tv with my own eyes!! Back where I come from, it was glory on a Canadian kids tv channel called YTV back in the glory days!!! The only anime that wasn’t my cup of ☕️, is that “My Bride Is A Mermaid” series. When it comes to mermaid people and yakuza’s. Utterly psychotic. Every anime fans knows that. TRUE STORY.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! There was a manga called 'Superman Kintaman' back in the early 80s, and that was an awesome manga to read. Extremely funny and felt like reading a bootleg Dr. Slump. 🤣 The protagonists are bootleg Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Gundam, etc.. I'm not sure if they made an animation though. Another noteworthy anime was known as Yattodetaman. It's a super-sentai anime featuring a giant robot on each episode. The show always ended when the protagonist sentai robot cornering the villains after fight. Then the villains would say something extremely sad to make the robot cry (yup, it cries). When the robot turns around to forgive the villains, one of the villains always said something rude, and the super sentai would turn back with a bow to finish them all. 🤣 The robot the villains ride would then explode, then the villains would escape for the next episode while singing weird songs. 🤣 That was possibly the worst anime of all time, but I had fun watching them. 🤣
Ex arm not being in the top 10 or top 5 is a crime. Like sure it is enjoyable if drunk and for a bit, but it's just so so so bad. It also ruins a decent manga thats best aspect was its art. Also unlike some of the other picks ex arm is actual 12, 23 minutes episodes. Which just makes it so so so bad. There is nothing good in the series.
Yeah I'm doing my absolute best to try and not think about those questionable moans during that Dark Cat segment in this video....and I'm failing MISERABLY! 😭
My "worst" anime is super subjective and personal, but it's Plunderer. I'm just going to post what I wrote on MAL about this show, as my feelings on it haven't changed. This is my one and only 1/10 anime, but that's because MAL won't let you rate something a 0: "My low rating on this is partially a very personal one. The show is meant to be an ecchi comedy, but I feel it pushes it way too far. The main character is rather perverted and that alone is nothing new with anime. But there are a few scenes where they show him fighting to spread a girl's legs for a very uncomfortable amount of time. As one who's been through SA...and much worse when I was very, very young...this just brought it all back. I didn't expect this show to literally "trigger" me (many times, I had to turn my face away and I subconsciously had put a pillow between my legs to "protect" myself), but it did and I just couldn't finish it. Once I realized what I was doing with the pillow, I knew it was taking too much of a beating on my mental health and I needed to stop watching. But aside from my personal experiences, I felt it had a great plot that felt rather squandered. The two main women fight like high school girls for the main guy, all because he was "nice" to them or saved them, which was an eyeroll. But as this is supposed to be a fantasy world, I was very intrigued when a minor character tried to describe a "monster" they'd seen. Turned out, the monster was a frickin helicopter. That was unexpected! What the heck is a helicopter doing in a fantasy world? I really wanted to know, but for the above reasons, I had to drop this. It felt like there was a really good and serious plot that was spoiled by all the raunchiness."
@@abrahamlupis9354 I have never even heard of that anime/manga. Nor do I feel I need to do a history dive into every show before I watch it. I actually didn't choose the show on my own, a sibling was watching it, so I figured I would expand my horizons, despite my reservations against the isekai genre. But none of that excuses the content to me. A precedent for normalizing sexual assualt doesn't mean the show still isn't abhorrent. No, I'm not making any calls to action to boycott or ban it and if someone else enjoyed it, so be it (in fact, my sibling did finish the anime and I didn't say anything except that I'd dropped it). SD Gundam Force was actually shown in Canadian TV in 2004-2005. I thought it was gonna be like Gundam Wing but it felt like it was for the younger audience and I had no idea why it was being shown in the evening hours.
Just when I thought that all anime might be awesome with some cool stories to tell, I was wrong. Somehow it turns out that some of the studies that work on anime are just the same as movie makers. When there is a good movie, there will always be a bad one. 😔
I can't believe that Negima!? and Maduka weren't on this list. While I will admit that the Island of the giant isnects anime isn't very good, it's not as bad as some others. The manga is pretty good though.
Many of these I haven’t heard of, the ones I have I won’t admit too with the exception of the following. Black Cat and Psychic Wars. Black cat though bad (no arguments from me) is an October/Halloween watch tradition. It’s so bad I roast watch it. Psychic wars is also bad but I’ve seen far worse though I’m not even remotely upset about BC and PW being included on the lisr.
Its so bad that i'm Revolted by the sight of some of them. SD Gundam was part of my Pre teen times as Toonami aired it but didn't fully finish its series finale...
Watch me be the only Pupa defender here, but I don't think it should be considered the worst or anywhere near that. It's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but that's fine. Still not even close to being one of the worst, though.
Looks like some of those 3D anime were animated using Koikatsu... Weird thing is, I've watched some good animated shorts by people who used the game engine. It's not too difficult with all of the tools provided.
0:18 Never heard of this. 1:39 What the hell O_o? I have not heard of Rusted Armors. At least these 3D models seem to have expressions. The magical girl anime looks like VTubers fooling around. Is Ladyspo even animated? I wouldn't call it anime. I need to see more than lips flapping to consider it anime. 5:32 I would watch this on Newgrounds. Ninja Collection barely has animation. Why is it called ninja? Did they falsely advertise this? Ex-Arm has really bad animation. There are PS2 games that look better. The 3D models are apparently unable to make expressions so they have to make 2D characters that smile. 7:07 This 2D character smiles. I was laughing at how bad Gibiate was. The 3D models looks so out of place here and their animation is terrible and stiff. Wounded Man actually looks pretty decent for an 80s anime. I've seen 80s anime that looked like they were made in the previous decade. Tokimeki Tonight looks like an anime from the 70s. I barely noticed anything Vampire related in Vampire Holmes. In Skelter+Heaven I did not know it was possible for Japanese voice acting to sound this bad. 14:18 AAAAAAAAHHHHH! Pupa would be better if the story was more developed. I was actually interested to see what would happen after this lady impregnated herself with an inbred demon child but we never see her again.
I gotta say I was surprised to see that Gundam SD was also considered worse anime to me as I was able to rewatch the show I got I didn’t think it was terrible heck, I didn’t even know it had a second season when I started rewatch it
@@sb8369 As someone who is basically tied to the stern of that sinking ship with the manga, let me say this. Art wise it's great. Story wise, it's a mess. Mami's one of the most likable characters and Chizure escapes any consequences for her shit like she's fucking Houdini.
@@SupermarketSweep777that show had a good premise but a dumb execution, the show could be about different girls been rent for different people with problem's, instead of one guy with a bunch of problems becoming another romcom
I'd be willing to add Glasslip to this list. It had some stunning visuals and a solid soundtrack and even an interesting hook for a story arc. Which they then proceeded to do absolutely bugger all with and then had the audacity to state that it meant nothing anyway. It was such a disappointing experience that it lead to me implementing a "three episode rule" so I don't waste my time on bad shows again.
Oh dear god, Pupa... it was just gross. One of the only anime I actually dropped. Dark and gross can be alright if done well, but that just wasn't. It wasn't entertaining, it just makes your stomach want to turn. They played up the sound effects of the vore and I couldn't take it. There was no redeeming value. An anime with only twelve 5 minute episodes should be an easy finish, but I didn't want more. I wouldn't even recommend it as a prank.
Idk, I think the whole "it was your kind who invaded the earth" thing actually is a good twist. The descendants of the invaders have been there so long they actually forgot their own origins. I feel like that could have worked in a better anime.
1:07 Oh no...oh god, why does her head look so huge?! 😂 Everything about the layering looks so wrong! Add in the stock photo, realistic background compared to the 2D characters and everything about that scene looks horrendous 😅.
I don't care, SD Gundam Force is one of my faves. I will die on the hill that SDGF was wonderful - despite the animation being rather bad and Captain's Civillian Mode being nightmare fuel. Season 2 was darker, so not my thing, but I liked the humor. :P Tbh, I like the thought of the mobile suits being able to act on their own; It appeals to me more than people actually piloting the robots. I do eventually wanna try one of the other Gundam shows though.
The Inclusion of SD Gundam Force on this list is insulting. The show is honestly a lot of fun and not intended to be a serious Gundam in any way. It isn't intended for an adult audience and serves as a fun entry you can watch with your kids with few to no underlying themes that would either go over their heads or leave you having to explain a lot. While there is an overarch, every episode mostly stands on it's own making it so you don't have to have watched many if any of the previous episodes to enjoy them. No it's not your typical Gundam. Yes, it's often times silly for no reason other than to be silly. Yes the English dub is not great. And yes the animation style just doesn't quite hold up to modern anime, but it is by no stretch of the imagination one of the worst anime of all time.
My most hated is probably not a candidate for worst but Canvas 2, it's a harem anime where the protagonist was in a healthy relationship only to have nearly every other character keep trying to get him to be with his cousin, which happens at the end.
Sad that the studio that made 4 of these is also the studio responsible for the Neptunia series and vastly underrated JRPG - Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force.
Watchmojo and its' constant hatred of SD Gundam Force. They have made so many worst anime lists but they have never taken off SD Gundam Force off it despite that there are far worst gundam series that had come since then. Gundam Build Metaverse anyone. Also what's wrong with sentient Gundam?
i didn't think wonder momo was the worst(food wars/definitely fairy tail is "this should just be a hentai".) as the comic it was based on was good but would've preferred of the shiftylook(really wish it was still around.:3) works klonoa or valkyrie getting an adaptation though did like it & especially bravoman(was the best of them both comic & cartoon that should've been longer)
2:00 - 2:03 With the way the dub sounds, I can't be the only one thinking that this whole clip has a certain "Context" to it right? Especially with the line "Use your sword" 🤣
Interesting info that you can extrapolate is the most of the worst anime are horror, followed by sci-fi action and magical girls but not one slice-of-life or romance. Now, extract what you want from that.

@@JcDizon Nothing but Bakugan, those reboots of Beyblade & Battle B-Daman. Pokémon kept ongoing until they finished Ash & Pikachu after ‘Ultimate Journeys’ came to an end. Now these days, everything sucks.
To be honest, I'm OK with "SD Gundam Force (2004)". Not in Eng dub, but in JP with BGM.
"General Zeong" was a bada** monster.
Season 2 was freaking insane. Professor Gerbera was super creepy, ahaha. Though Zeong was a sight himself for sure.
My other interested:
- "Commander Sazabi".
- "Deathscythe", the Knight of Darkness.
- & possible "Kibaomaru".
The Zakus were funny as hell
Agree zaku.

That one 3D animated one about 3 little girls seriously looks like it was made in VR chat...
It did look like VTubers fooling around.

Me seeing pupa, the one anime Crunchyroll dropped like a bad habit, wasn't the worst anime ever 😮😅🤔
Interesting.
I kind of figured every anime just targeted specific audiences. And if you didn't like it, it simply wasn't for you.
Never really thought there were ones out there we ALL hated. 🤷♀️
Everytime I see Mars of Destruction I instantly remember the video Cj Dachamp did on it. That P90 part was hilarious as hell.
I was wondering if you could do a list of the worst anime of each year of the century so far
Ex-Arm, High Guardian Spice and Berserk (2016) are the worst anime I've ever seen
Didn't know they made an anime based on a Japan-only arcade game, Wonder Momo.
Must be running out of ideas. 🤭
The promised neverland season 2
Ex-Arm - I'm not sure if they were doing The CGI blindfolded when they made this.
My personal pick for the worst anime, is bondage game. It may have only lasted two episodes, but it felt like 200.
Every minute made me contemplate whether i should use bleach or not,
as well as making me want to watch something else.
Wow. I've only heard of two, Psychic Wars and that Gundam abomination.
After all the crap Whatmojo has talked over the years about Oreimo i am genuinely shocked it wasn't in the top 20
@@krizlad Oreimo has quality and fans support it
@@abrahamlupis9354Oreimo should’ve made the list or at least a dishonorable mention.
This is my one and only 1/10 anime, but that's because MAL won't let you rate something a 0:
"My low rating on this is partially a very personal one.
It felt like there was a really good and serious plot that was spoiled by all the raunchiness."
oh please, you should checked before that Plunderer is from the same author of Sora no Otoshimono so is obvious what content you would expect there
@@abrahamlupis9354 I have never even heard of that anime/manga.
I'm just sharing what I feel to be my personal least favorite show. It's okay if someone doesn't agree.
"THE ISLAND OF GIANT INSECTS" ISN'T SO BAD IT'S GOOD ANIMÉ, BUT IT WAS THE WORST YURI ANIMÉ FILM I EVER WATCHED... BY THE WAY, WHERE'S "SCHOOL DAYS", "FIREWORKS" & "GYO: TOKYO FISH ATTACK", ANYWAY? PLEASE DO THE TOP 20 WORST ANIMÉ THAT NEEDED A PROPER REBOOT OR REVIVAL, ASAP! LOL! 📺🙏🤣

It still blows my mind that several of these actually aired on national television.
My top 5 favorite anime
1. Pokémon
2. Happy Sugar Life
3. My Bride Is A Mermaid
4. Princess Jellyfish
5. Ouran High School Host Club
Princess Jellyfish? Happy Sugar Life?😮
SD Gundam Force was actually shown in Canadian TV in 2004-2005. I thought it was gonna be like Gundam Wing but it felt like it was for the younger audience and I had no idea why it was being shown in the evening hours.
Tbh vampire Holmes is way better than Holmes and Watson
Just when I thought that all anime might be awesome with some cool stories to tell, I was wrong. Somehow it turns out that some of the studies that work on anime are just the same as movie makers. When there is a good movie, there will always be a bad one. 😔
Let’s give an honorable mention to Handshakers.
I can't believe that Negima!? and Maduka weren't on this list.
While I will admit that the Island of the giant isnects anime isn't very good, it's not as bad as some others. The manga is pretty good though.
You didn't even mention how is Musashi Gundoh the guy has SLEEP BULLETS
As in he shoots you, but you don't die...sometimes in the head
Many of these I haven’t heard of, the ones I have I won’t admit too with the exception of the following. Black Cat and Psychic Wars. Black cat though bad (no arguments from me) is an October/Halloween watch tradition. It’s so bad I roast watch it. Psychic wars is also bad but I’ve seen far worse though I’m not even remotely upset about BC and PW being included on the lisr.
Idea for a video: This same countdown, but including only the hilariously bad shows that can be watched for laughs.
How about top 20 anime with the worst English dubbing of all time
Twinkle Nora Rock me has left the list
Some of these are guilty pleasures. 🎉
I gotta say I was surprised to see that Gundam SD was also considered worse anime to me as I was able to rewatch the show I got I didn’t think it was terrible heck, I didn’t even know it had a second season when I started rewatch it
Face it, Rent a Girlfriend needs to be on the list
That and Bludgeoning Angel and Oreimo.
Oh the coming Season 4 doing the Hawaiians arc will be the fiery plane crash that will cement it on a future worst anime list.
Rent a Girlfriend is not nearly as incompetently made as ANY of these other series. You simply don't like it
@@sb8369 As someone who is basically tied to the stern of that sinking ship with the manga, let me say this.
Only if the production community paid its animators more then some of series would of not ended up in the bottom of the barrel.
Top 10 Anime That Deserves More Attention.
Like Sonic X. Wait, does it have much attention?
Soul Eater and Yowamushi Pedal deserved more attention.
I think gundam show on this list, is guilty pleasure anime, haha
No Rent-A-Girlfriend? I'm surprised
Honestly am pretty surprised that Conception didn’t make it on the list. That had like 2.6 ratings much more lower than Rent-a-Girlfriend
I actually don’t think Island of Giant Insects is that bad. I’ve seen much worse in tv and movies. I’d rather watch it than Kartrashians garbage.
Where’s Berserk 2016 and Misfit of Demon King Academy Season 2
The story of Berserk 2016 was actually good. But the animation and the sound design could have been a hell of a lot better.
As a bad movie and anime fan since the early 90's, the top of my list is "Odin: Photon Sailer Starlight". It's just 140min of pure boredom.
Does anyone remember Dinosaur King?
I think so. Man, some people forgot it existed.

I'm surprised that the Powerpuff girls or Stitch anime isn't in this video
@@kennykasensouk931 they're better products than these
Thanks for reminding us how awful they’re.
Pupa needs a remake because I read the manga it was so different from the manga
I don't care, SD Gundam Force is one of my faves. I will die on the hill that SDGF was wonderful - despite the animation being rather bad and Captain's Civillian Mode being nightmare fuel. Season 2 was darker, so not my thing, but I liked the humor. :P
Tbh, I like the thought of the mobile suits being able to act on their own; It appeals to me more than people actually piloting the robots.
My most hated is probably not a candidate for worst but Canvas 2, it's a harem anime where the protagonist was in a healthy relationship only to have nearly every other character keep trying to get him to be with his cousin, which happens at the end.
to be fair is an eroge adaptation
@@abrahamlupis9354 True but not all eroge have characters that have had their brains replaced with mashed potatoes.

I had a feeling something I like would be on this list and I was right lol, superior gundam force
i didn't think wonder momo was the worst(food wars/definitely fairy tail is "this should just be a hentai".) as the comic it was based on was good but would've preferred of the shiftylook(really wish it was still around.:3) works klonoa or valkyrie getting an adaptation though did like it & especially bravoman(was the best of them both comic & cartoon that should've been longer)
You did a good job of creating a list that both made me laugh and want to tear my eyes out at the same time.
