That yellow and white International Fleetstar 2070 brings back memories. When I apprenticed at Cummins Ontario back in the early 70’s a local fleet Walmer
Transport bought about 10 of those new. Not sure why, but they had Cummins NTC 290’s from the factory. We up rated them to 335 HP. It wasn’t one of those
“ Just put a bigger button in the pump “ uprates. We switched out the pistons, liners, turbo, and changed the stepped Woodfuff Key on the camshaft gear.
retimed the cam boxes. When the camera first looks under the hood, that white bar is the cab sub frame. The cab sits on that. It’s supports the cab at the back
on and airbag, but hinges like a radius rod up alongside the rad on both sides. If you don’t think that damn thing is in the way, let me tell you brother it sure is.
Even trying to re and re the PT fuel pump is a challenge. I’m glad they got away from that idea with the S Model. I drove a lot of those models you see in the
video, during the driving part of my working life. The one thing that surprises me is I don’t see any fuel stickers on the side of the cabs from that era.
Trucks would have one for every state the travelled in. The IFTA eliminated that down to one.

The grill on the Mack slab cab is called a grilldenser , the refrigerant passes through the tubes. I think KW used them first. Could be a Kyser product.

Do you know of any mid 1950s Autocar D-75s??? I'm searching for a 1953 - 1958 Autocar D-75 with the integral factory sleeper. Would appreciate any leads you or anyone on here might have. My Dad had one that he used to haul OTR Georgia to Chicago back in the 60s. I loved riding in that truck,... great memories. Looking to find one and doing a resto-mod and putting it back on the road as a daily worker.
