This is a fantastic video. I grew up listening to this music and I even sang a few Ernest Tubb songs with my country band in the late 90's, early 2000's. Love this- thank you Gibson. I may need to take a trip out to see the new Gibson store and this record store. R.I.P. Ernest Tubb- and "Thanks A Lot"
I was in Nashville once to play at the Grand Old Opry and promote an album that I had played on. We had a day off and walked into Ernest Tubb’s and found our record for sale there it was quite a thrill.
Ernest Tubb was very instrumental 🎸 In giving the side musicians the credit they deserve - Ernest Tubb was a true country gentleman with a whole lot of Soul and a Heart of Gold
I love these on-destination The Scene series Gibson is doing. Mark does a great job as always - laid back and casual while simultaneously respectful and reverent, curious and inquisitive - and it is fascinating hearing details about these famous venues and locations in American Music History. Thanks, Gibson for carrying the torch.
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Kellen Antonio thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I really love Gibson TV. This one especially, because I started hangin' out at the 2 local record stores when my allowance provided the opportunity. I later got a janitor job at a local country radio station KTRB and found a treasure trove of demo 45's while cleaning out the attic there. I remember listening weekly to The Maddox Brothers and Rose played in the station studio live, before I worked there. Music is always in my head and the music of the artists Ernest Tubb gave opportunities to is always in my heart.
Followed you since Norms Mark you are doing a great job for Gibson now. I love the history and guys like you documenting it all for us.. and the t shirt is fire
Awesome episode. While I am not specifically a country music aficionado, I loved the story and history of the shop and it’s contribution to music history.
Too Cool! I worked in a Record Store when I was younger. Listen to music all day, sell music all day and talk to others about music all day. You meet the best people in Record Stores...That's where I met my wife!
Great video, as always! When I was in Nashville in 2019, I made a point to visit this store and buy some records. I could have gotten into so much trouble with the amount of great records they have! That, along with the items on display from legends (including some great Loretta Lynn stuff!) and the amazing staff make this a must visit while in Nashville! Plus you may run into someone famous here - just check out the walls while you're there!
Wow........ now that's a lot of great history right there...........thanks so much Gibson TV. I had intended to visit Nashville last year after the vintage guitar show in Ft Worth but that'll wait till this covid thing dies down a bit and the borders open again........looking forward to that. In the meantime............keep 'em comin'.
Earnest Tubbs was a legend of a guitar, banjo, mandolin picker ! Extremely talented and underrated. And w can't leave out Lester Flatt, as when they played together, it was really something else.
Great video, never knew of the store or its significance before, but I am educated now. Great that Gibson make this type of content and dont see it necessary to use it as a blatant advert for their wares. There has been some negativity around the company (and Mark) in the last few years, but this and more content like it can only be good for them in the long run. 👍
@@robertclarkguitar Robert ,So Good To See You,I Hope your Well,Hunter Would Love This ,He Has That Pick Of Ernest Tubb he wears Around his neck...See You Soon 🤘🖤😊
These are extremely interesting and enjoyable vids..no matter what the genre of music or art..history is history..you need to know it and its fascinating..keep'em coming ! Thanks Mark and Gibson !!
It's an absolute crime that the Ernest Tubb Record Shop was allowed to be sold off to real-estate developers, who then closed this legendary landmark down. The city of Nashville should have stepped up and purchased the business and building, which has been part of what made Nashville the country-music capital of the world, and a real must-see place for tourists. The city of Nashville should have stepped up and purchased the business and building. What a loss of country music history, what a missed opportunity...... AND a crying damned shame.🎻🎸
I just visited Nashville and I was extremely sad to discover that this store has closed. I'm shocked that this was not designated landmark status due to the history of this space. I'm hoping that the new owners do right by this space and don't just turn it into another fake honky tonk.
The Midnight Jamboree was the stage for big stars like Loretta Lynn and also for others like Ethel Delaney, Penny DeHaven, James O'gwynn and so many others. So sad the store is closing!!
for years I've been trying to get them to sell store branded record mats. but no luck yet. I collect those from record stores all over the country so maybe I'm a unique type of customer and there aren't enough of us.
The Ernest Tubb Record Shop is slated to close forever in the spring of 2022. The Shop is being treated like a piece of common real estate. WTF!!! America has no respect for it's own history anymore. Everything's about cheap ass dollar bills. We will regret this someday-but it will be too late.
Now this is how you respectfully support authentic heritage. Well done and thank's!
Ernest Tubb was a pure country class act!

Great job.

Now that's what you call a record store. It's great to see that it's still around .😎👏👍🤠🎶🎼😷😁🎼🎶🤠🤠 that's a great Mercury Records t-shirt.
I love this store! Last time I was in Nashville I stopped in and got all of these same stories from the same folks. Great people!
Awesome episode. While I am not specifically a country music aficionado, I loved the story and history of the shop and it’s contribution to music history.

As always Mark , FANTASTIC!!!! I’m a Les Paul player and proud of it !!
PLAY AUTHENTIC!!!
I found an album autographed by Mr. Tubb in my father's collection 🇺🇸
Thanks alot. This was a great special.
I'm not even much of a country fan and I loved this video and story. Great stuff thanks.
I went to Nashville for a get away last year and the record store was closed because of covid. Broke my heart.
My dad took me to see ET in the early 80s. Pretty neat to see tbis. I've been there. Always reconnects me with my dad
Gibson TV has been killing it with their vids, I just wish I could afford one of their guitars
I still have the Ernest Tubb coffee mug purchased there during our last Nashville visit in 2007.
Thoroughly enjoyed it Mark !! Thanks !!😎🎸👍
Very cool video who knew this would still be a cool place till this day

Fascinating 🤨👍
That place should of never closed, ever. 💔
Saddest thing I saw in Nashville a few months ago was Ernest Tubbs Record Shop was vacant with a realty for lease sign in the window.
Awesome Video Mark! 🤟🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎸🎶😎😍☮️❤️😊
Truer words have never been said.
Be better to your neighbors and you’ll have better neighbors!!
Great Footage! Love the Nashville scene. Is 'The Process' for Gibson Acoustic in the works soon? Looking forward to the episodes, cheers.

I was in Nashville week of August 1st and stopped by the store.. it was closed and store was empty
ERNEST TUBB IS THE TRUTH
I just visited Nashville and I was extremely sad to discover that this store has closed. I'm shocked that this was not designated landmark status due to the history of this space. I'm hoping that the new owners do right by this space and don't just turn it into another fake honky tonk.
I met Ernest Tubb at the Shy Clown casino in Reno,,Nevada.....Super nice guy....I was 8..._
Been there.... several times.
The Midnight Jamboree was the stage for big stars like Loretta Lynn and also for others like Ethel Delaney, Penny DeHaven, James O'gwynn and so many others. So sad the store is closing!!
Love it gibson....
how cool
A lot of great stories here..but wait...Dolly Parton played there when she was 12??!!! Wow.

I'm ready to talk regular, Rick
Sadly soon to only be a memory.
DO RCA STUDIO B ON MUSIC ROW!
Went in thier 2019
Did someone say "Dr. Epiphone"!

The jacket must be a security blanket for you! 😕✌
the Grand Ol Opry didn't want him on there at first, because of the electric guitar.
My name is also Rick.
Now Mark does know the true country electric guitar is a Gretch Nashville 6120 not a Gibson, right? :)
Hi gibson
Hi Tommy!
🤔No need to relic that store!
What a shame this ye
