I left church Sunday and went to a nearby grocer. When I came out my key fob would not work for my keyless vehicle. I had to call a young man who is most always available in time of trouble. They were just about to leave the church so they came and rescued me with a little battery for my fob. God bless those who help us little “old” widow ladies.
I get yelled at, & you took his best friend away!!! (Lol. I'm laughing so hard, Tina.) Of course, he looks sad!! "I'm sleeping here, mom," so there. You guys crack me up! ❤❤❤❤
Please get your pups GPS trackers. They are inexpensive and pretty much guarantee that your dog will be found, because you can see where they are every minute. You already lost one dog, and Lester lost Sadie. With GPS trackers, both dogs would have been been found immediately. YouOnlr dogs could easily be stolen because they are so adorable. Only 20% of lost dogs end up being found, so trackers are worth their weight in gold.
No one, regardless of where you live, drives well on ice. ❤❤ Good luck with the bad weather. I'm praying for the south it is not too bad. So clod here it will get down to -12 tonight. Don't forget to keep your faucets dripping and sink cabinet doors open to keep pipes from freezing.
I had my dog spayed a few days after I had my hysterectomy. I took her outside so we could lay on the deck. I was laying on the deck dying and she was up jumping around as soon as her anesthesia wore off. Needless to say she did much better than I did 🤣 I pray you guys do well during the storm.

Me, too. Put ground venison in the crock pot to make chili. Put onion and colored bell pepper in it, tomato sauce, little garlic powder. We'll have frito pie.😋
The cold can hurt batteries as you may know in a car battery. The same thing happens from the cold it just doesn't want to start, and if it does, it's not like a full force.
I think you are right, Tina. I don’t think the battery has anything to do with it if it’s wired. Sounds more like a hydraulic issue because of the cold.
That vet office looks like the same one Kim used before. In Georgia, where I worked in a gated apartment complex, during freezing temperatures we always set the entry/ exit gates open cause the motor will indeed freeze up. Raniera's coat is so pretty 😊. Most times, I also use venison in my chili 😋 👍🏾.
Good luck with the doggie. I had mine spayed a couple months ago unfortunately mine developed anxiety so bad that she had diarrhea for the three weeks following the surgery. She’s a mini and they said sometimes the mini dogs react to surgery. But she’s fine now she’s full of energy. She’s a mini dachshund.🥰❤️

Hi Tina and Rob. It’s my Monday night I’m watching this in Lindsay Ontario Canada. It’s cold here as well -28 Celsius or -18 Fahrenheit right now. We also have 4 foot snowbanks. Our coldest will be next week. Hopefully she will heal up fast.after getting spayed.

You can use a crock pot with water in it for the chickens. We bought a second hand cheap one for the winter to keep the water from freezing. The hot plates don't last long . they rust and rot.
Its colder there than here. Our high is 35 tiday. It got down to 21 or 24 this mornkng. Thursday its suppose to warm up some and rain or maybe snow. Raniera is so pretty in her jacket and socks. Shes precious. Maybe its the cold thats making the gste not work right. Im happy you are staying warm . Becareful Rob driving and Elijah. Chili sounds so good. Stay safe and warm you all. ❤❤❤

Raneara’s coat is great but remember if her socks aren’t water proof her feet will end up colder. Just think would you rather stand out in the cold dry or be soaking wet and try to stand out in it. She could hear the water running under the ground and maybe thought mouse or something.
Easy thing to stop her from digging there till it settles is some chicken wire or a fence panel staked to the ground or if you could block them from the area as dogs always love freshly turned ground 😊

Even those of us who have driven on ice, prefer not to if we can avoid it. For me it usually happened while I was at work though and didn't know it was icy till I was already on it on my drive home. Right now it is -5 with a windchill of -37 here in Iowa. I really really hate winter haha. I'll take summer and the hot weather any day over the cold.

The cold will suck the juice out of the batteries for one thing but if you got power there shouldn't be any reason why you haven't got power into that gate.
It’s cold in FL too but not that cold yet! Neigbors with power gates like that have issues & repair folks out all the time. Let it snow ❄️ We have dogs that love to dig also! Chili, YUM! Just add some shredded cheese, raw onion, & hot sauce!

It’s 6pm here and -9 with windchill -16. I had to go out to garage to start my car and let it run alittle so it’ll be sure to start tomorrow am. Our schools were up and running today even though it never got above zero. Will be in Deep freeze till Tuesday afternoon it should be above zero.

Hi Tina its me again. The cone is a bit difficult to wear, but they sell donuts which is much better, its really a donut that goes around the neck and very comfortable.

In Missouri I bought a heated dog bowl and its very safe made for outside to keep the animals water unfroze.

Michigan here, we have issues with older/weaker car batteries when it’s cold out. Just replace it, a new battery should work.

She hasn’t ever done before that’s the first time so I don’t know if it’s because she knew we had just dug in the same spot.

I did the low cost spay and neuter program 11years ago in Florida. They were great with our 2 Border Collies. Very caring.

Ice is bad to drive on. But watch the north has is plenty of salt trucks to salt the roads and plows the plow the road to keep the roads clear.

It was -31 this morning in mid Alberta Canada. Too cold to go out, takes a long time for the car to heat up, happy for heated seats and steering wheel
I read you can put à very salty bottle of water floating in the trough won't let it freeze.

You can buy heated chicken waterer with the heater built in. All you would need is power or batteries depending what kind you get.
