Debut album of the year. Five years in the making with years before that of session musicianship practice. That is all. What musical genius genes has father Pino unleashed in you..
Who else is here from Lorde's IG post? I love the sound of this song! Is that a Hammond B3 organ at 2:47? It reminds me of listening to my grandfather's cassette tapes from the 80s, in such a good way -- it's great to have new energy from such beautiful, timeless instruments. Also I love the mood in the lyrics.
There is so much going on in this song, you can hear 80s, 90s, and it's still contemporary, it will sound as good in 20ys time as today. That how you should compose. Btw: nod to the Boat that rocked is well appreciated. Great movie.
Just heard this song today at H&M. I had to Shazam it . When I saw who the artist was, I wondered if she was related to one of the all-time bass greats. Sure enough, she’s Pino Palladino’s daughter. Musical genius runs in their family.
Heard her performing live on Huw's Six Music slot earlier this evening. Cracking tunes. Been banging out the album since then. Mellow sounds that reminded me of being a young knipper again in the 80's. The tunes also complimented my cooking of the pasta dinner as I danced around the kitchen in a euphoric bliss...
Hoping for autographed cd's in the xlstore + limited blu-ray audio in collab with superdeluxeedition / sdeshop with hi-res digital master, hi-res vinyl master, dts hd-ma 5.1 & dolby atmos
I’m obsessed with ur songs but I do think they’d benefit a lot by being at least 4-5 mins long, “I care” is a good example, it’s duration was perfect, but the other songs feel like they need to go on just a bit longer.
I love her and this song but I totally think this is a valid point. I felt this track would’ve benefited from another full chorus at the end or a bridge before the second chorus. It is still really good and she sounds beautiful but it’s nice to see valid and contructive critiques! Fabiana can you give us an extended mix?
She is likely being forced by what the music industry has become thanks to TikTok, algorithms, our current attention spans, and streaming to keep songs short, otherwise she gets zero airplay. I hate it too how more and more we are not hearing bridge passages nor codas in pop; just verse chorus verse chorus. Her songs are best listened to as a whole in this brilliant debut album.
@@marilynpalladino923Ok, sorry. I think it sounds a bit too much like sequenced 80's synths for my taste. I like more real instruments in this kind of music.
@@weynagrom You have a quite good point if you have a broad perception of what disco is, but the original disco from the 1970s was played by humans. In the late 70s the electronically controlled rhythms began to appear, and disco lost much of it's soul. I love much of that kind of music too, but my comment was just pointing out my opinion that this song would benefit from human players instead of computers. It wasn't meant as criticism, just wanted to share how i think the song could be made even better to my taste.
It's great this "adult contemporary" thing is back in the game. Stunning album, and the only flaw is that "modern mastering" ruins everything, the maxed out loudness and compression makes it impossible to fully enjoy it on a decent hi-fi setup. I mean, it's 2027 already and all that stupid loudness warfare still goin' on?
Great sound. Flawless effortless vocals, great 80ies references (on Synths) The video reminds me of the movie The Fog with Adrienne Barbaeu & Jamie Lee Curtis (which would have been the perfect visual reference for this song). Styling, makeup and performance are very weak! She needs to work on her presence and presentation! We love introverts but this is pop! Great album but most songs miss an emotional climax. I will follow and see what happens after the debut 😘
I need to thank Lorde for introducing me this incredibly talented namesake of mine 💙💜🎶

Instant love
gorgeous! I love the album, does anyone else hear a bit of Solange in her vocals?
The best song I've ever heard
Dont listen to music like this... but this track just unlocked something within me

Same! H&M brought me here! 😅
Same happend to me 😂 i heard in h& m too
her brother is an excellent bassist, plays with a lot of the best british r&b/funk groups. rocco palladino.
Placement de produit 😂
Album of the year 🥰
Thank you Lorde
This song is so groovy that I almost didn’t notice how heartbreaking the lyrics are. You don’t see a lot of pop music about despair
i’ve been obsessed with this song since the album release

Usłyszałem dziś w radiu. Bardzo fajny kawałek, już wziąłem Panią na muzyczny celownik;) Gratulacje i Powodzenia! 🙂🌹

Amazing song but is there a version of the video without the grain FX applied?! It doesn't make it look like film- the saturated colours are enough.

i'd love a bridge on this song yeah

Good song that would benefit of human playing.
It’s all played by her

Man really has “disco” in his display name and is still critiquing the sound of humans playing electronic instruments? Okay.

If you look up the musical credits on her album, I think you'll find some pretty amazing 'humans' are on it !!
