    My latest company car is the Mercedes-Benz E Coupe, what was once dubbed the masterpiece in intelligence. 4 years after its initial launch, a facelift later, what does it offer? I clocked over 7000 miles in 3 months to bring you my verdict, enjoy!

    I also think across the board E Class the best car range going. Now my OCD with Mercedes why in UK you can’t get version with traditional grill (pointed star on bonnet) do think it should be an option, rest of world has Exclusive. Then Coupe is great, but design & this is OCD - rear window should have single pain of glass! I know I said it was picky, but that small divide spoils clean looks.

    Ive recently gotten a 2021 e450 coupe and have had the same dashcam as you have at 2:15 pop up once before, however I haven’t been able to access this dash camera since. I have full access to my 360 camera and front camera, however I noticed that the dashcam and front camera are actually different (dashcam angle is the exact same as the one at the previously mentioned time). No matter where I’ve searched online, I haven’t been able to find any answers on how to access this dashcam- with most sources stating that I should insert an SD card. However when the dash camera last appeared for me, I hadn’t had an SD inside. If you have any information on how I can access the dashcam, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

      The E220d engine is brilliant at what it was designed for. Superb consumption in a luxurious coupe. Is it exciting? No. Is it frugal? Hells yes. 37-38 mpg is good enough to keep the 53 IMO. Hey Daniel, thanks for watching :) the new car production is still in the dumps and wait times are still very long at pretty much every brand. Based on that I don’t see any price drops anytime soon. Look at the market. If there are many of what you want, that’s a sign to buy. (Lots of stock, or lots of the same car will drive competition and then lower prices). Hope that made sense?

    Hi - a bit late to the party as only just found/viewed your post and hence this late comment which I hope you will still read as I would really welcome your opinion. First of all, thanks for the great review and your starting and ending comment re the engine is what hooked me. I am looking to buy the E Class coupe and have always gone down the factory order route with my cars. But in these troubled times that is a bit of a waiting game and like another reviewer said, you dont get to max out the value of your part ex (another cake and eat it !). So instead I have been trawling the MB and other sites like Autotrader to see if there were any cancelled orders or ex demo cars that came close to my spec...which always started with a petrol lump.. So to get to the point I have found two new, already built, cars that are available that are in the right colour - almost (yes I am a fussy git on spec...) and are Night Edition Premium Plus. Here is the rub : one is 400D and the other is a 220D. The 400D is Obsidian Black and the 220D is is Graphite Grey - my absolute favourite colour.
    400d pros : more power, 4WD, 4matic suspension; 400D cons : the delta for those pros over the 220d is £13k, less economic, been sitting in a showroom for 2-3 months with lots of people jumping in and out of it (and why hasn't it sold...?).
    220D pros : best colour (IMO), cheaper to buy, more economic, enroute from Bremen and truly a new car; 220D cons - power on long runs. and is it also noisy under duress ? I test drove a 350D GLC a few years ago and it was like being in tractor, even under idle....Never thought I would even consider buying another diesel but beggars cant be choosers and I hear MB have refined their oil burners ?!.
    I will be making a decision over the coming weekend. Which way would you jump?. Thanks, and you have another subscriber regardless.

      @GoksCarLounge  2 года назад +1

      Hey mate, thank you for taking the time out to comment :) thanks for watching too!
      there is a lot to weigh up, its a typical battle of brain v heart, your heart will say go for the 400d but the brain will go woth logic and go for the 220d. I agree, graphite grey us beautiful! amazing on fuel and other than the badge on the back its the same look. if you REALLY need the 400d, as in power and 4wd then thats the one to go for. assuming you do lots of motorway miles up and down the country over wet and windy conditions. if like a lot of us its driving around in london with the odd run around the M25... save your money and take the 220d. hope this has helped! (the burmester sound system will drown out the diesel engine!) ;)

      @@GoksCarLounge Thanks buddy. You are spot on my dilemma and yes a lot of the journeys are going to be short around town stuff. We do that currently in a 1.5 tsi VW which is great but when we take a trip to the coast and get stuck behind a tractor…. We used to run two cars in case you are thinking why not keep the VW then…but that was when we could afford to and ‘my’ car was the long tripper with 6 pots… I have decided that I need to drive a 220d whatever MB to see if the power and noise reach acceptable levels before I jump. Will post my final decision for those facing the same dilemma… Thanks again.

      As promised : I decided to duck the 220D in the end. I was just not impressed with the way the power was delivered under full demand. The turbo was quite laggy and the sound from the engine revvy. And of course the 400d meanwhile sold...

    Would you recommend a 2019 model year of this car? They seem to be coming off lease now but that was the first production year of the mild hybrid/battery starter engine that bumped up the HP. I've seen prices hovering north of 50k USD so far but it seems it could go either way right now.

    steering wheel is huge downgrade..... those touch sensitive BS instead nice, real metal buttons...? not premium at all..... at least everything else is still NOT upgraded top their current interior... so it means still real HVAC, seat and door controls, touchpad.... i hate current (new) S or E class interiors.... show over usability.

      I think the noise insulation of my E-class coupe is excellent but at high speed plus the wind blowing in a certain direction, I notice noise that sounded like wind rushing in. It doesn’t happen all the time and my back passenger could never feel any wind leaking in.

      A used car is any car that has been registered. Rule Of Thumb: Once a vehicle has been registered, it is legally considered used. If the vehicle has never been registered (regardless of how many miles are on it), the vehicle is legally considered new. :) have a great day
