By the way, I know it's useless for GeoGuessr, but if you want to get baseline knowledge of China, there's a really good series of videos on a channel called Pere X that goes over every Chinese province and their capitals, and it gives etymologies and mnemonics for memorizing them. It's a great resource
How do you manage to write cities like "petropavlovskkamchatsky" And remember how you spell it. From Personal experience and watching like GeoWizard we know a lot of cities but the ability to spell them out is almost the hardest part. I'm Norwegian which adds a bit hardness to quizzes as the English word for some cities/countries are different. Like Tajikistan is Tadsjikistan. I dont struggle so much with Spanish speaking countries, but slavic countries is hard. like "Kropyvnytskyj" in Ukraine.
Damn, I'm brazilian and always get surprised when people from other countries know brazilian cities besides of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (for exemple Cascavel and Governador Valadares). Your knowledge is huge, man! I'm saying that just because it's my country, but for sure I'm amazed by all your Geography (and also spelling) knowledge!
I would have missed most of these, but would have gotten Mindelo - been there. Cool little place, so charming and the beaches on Sao Vicente, where we were the only people as far as the eye could see, were epic.
It's so funny in these videos you're so focused on the more obscure cities that you miss the big ones that I would have typed--in this video I'm thinking of Makassar and Sydney, lol
Some of my favourite quizzes are the "city closest coverage" ones, where you type in a city and the circle extends to cover the closest (10, 50, 100, 500) cities. Very fun and satisfying, but also not easy especially in some parts of the world (Japan, China, Brazil)
@@jakelyonsgeo port ma-qua-rie (qua as in quash), and I do not think that would have covered the spot you were trying to anyways as it is on a very similar longitude to Coffs Harbour (It also did not show up anyways with a pin, so the game must be using old data as Port Macquarie did recently hit 50k people). Newcastle would have been another good option there. Also just one more thing regarding pronunciations, In NZ, Whangārei would be pronounced f-ang-arey as in the Māori language, Wh is pronounced like an F
What exactly do you mean? I do a good amount of explaining in my competitive/duels videos, if that’s what your after. I also have several older country streak videos where I talk through each round fairly thoroughly.
My man did everything to avoid looing at the middle east, africa or china. Good job!
Your knowledge of cities is incredible, but I'm really amazed by your ability to actually spell them correctly! :D
Especially in Russian and Hindi…

I’m not sure why, but I’ve never had any real trouble with spelling - once I’ve seen a word a few times, I can spell it!
@@jakelyonsgeosame, I just kinda remember how the word looks written out or something? Idk exactly though
You got the confetti! 🎊
