These trains deliver absolute hellfire from its traction sounds!! .Hitting Approx 30mph in 14-15 seconds .Approx 37 seconds to 60mph. .Approx 100mph in 111-112 seconds (uphill somewhat it would seem so it could have been faster potentially, also likely limited by power restraints near max speed on these units specifically) It sounds smoother than older EMUs, but thats likely due to the mechanical parts being designed for everything to mesh , spin and operate cleaner and more efficient than older rolling stock like the class 321s. But it just depends on the style or design of the traction equipment. But that motor shaft fan hum was aggressive sounding‼️ (assuming these have forced air cooling motors with shaft ventilator, they likely do given the sounds and power output. 600kw per motor...WTF‼️❤)
The Clasd 745 are such incredible trains and I have been on them before especially when travelling up to Norwich and Stansted Airport from London Liverpool Street. I also picked up a Class 745 from Colchester to Norwich which didn’t took that long at all.

Very fast. And the thing is, they feel similar to class 701s at first. Very gentle off the mark but somehow are very continuous towards speed. You dont get thrown back by the accelerate and my driver in this vid went full pelt here.
How you find the motor sound? I think the sound sick. Theres alot you can hear but they arent overly loud. They hum alot at speed like 465s, But they are torque dense motors and are very heavy duty compared to your standard UK train. 600kw per motor..imagine 🤣🤣 and a strong gearbox to boot.
@@745ga its funny we call it that when the stations are so far away from each other, but it indeed a "semi fast". On the way to Liverpool street it stopped at a few stations. Mind you, I didnt notice any on the way to Essex. These are absolutely units of a train.
@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524 It called at stations a normal GA service would stop at, also the fact this was a /1 which has no first class unlike the /0s.

Still stands that they are some of the best intercity trains we have.

They dont take long as the acceleration is phenomenal so they hit max speed quite quickly, and then maintain it for a long time .

the IC service wouldn't stop at Witham, Chelmsford and Shenfield, Stratford is a exception since IC do stop there every hour.
