Hilary Hahn is so confident with herself. It's very inspiring...(besides the fact that she is an incredible violinist!)

Hilary Hahn is one of the miracles ever lived on this planet, she has a very deep innate understanding with music esp Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Paganini etc. etc...and she is capable in anything.
And yes her programming to me has not always been a bit luck of the draw for someone like me, I have seen her doing something that I would not even consider music, but whatever she plays, I suggest that you SHOULD go, she is one of the greatest in history, and she doesn't need a Strad!!

Veeo Lin the depth of her understanding of music, programming and audience participation is thrilling. The world needs more public intellectuals in all fields. Hers is music. We are her benefactors.

What a great interview. Hilary is such a thoughtful person. We are witnessing a violinist who gets better by the year. Hilarys Mendelssohn violin concerto in e on YT is the best I have ever heard.

I have such respect for Hilary Hahn. Supremely talented, articulate, intelligent, and a class act in every sense.

She has a gentle confidence. Being the best in the world (which she is by my tastes), it's easy to be either cocky or present false humility. She seems pretty genuine and is always nice in interviews. She has such a gift for communication that I have hopes that she could turn great teacher in her later years as an old master a la Heifetz.

I would just like to comment that the interviewer is incredibly inspiring for me, because she is looking into the very heart and soul of Hilary. This is profoundly 'active listening', which in psychotherapy is essential to healing. Most people in life have never 'been listened to' so deeply, and it is touching, beyond words, to see that rapport, that sympathetic vibration, there. There is a harmony that exists at the energetic level, between the two of them -- something rarely spoken of. Literally, its like two magnets! And it reaches the heart level. Love it! Thank you. Hilary is pretty cool too, lol

Hilary is such a wonderful violinist so it is just fabulous to be able the hear the girl behind the instrument and what she has to say abut her work and her life. Good on you Hilary , you are the best. I enjoy all your performances on Utube and regularly play them over and over. You are beautiful too, and very easy on the eye

It's interesting to be able to see her hands in a non-playing situation. I'm fascinated by the hands of artists. They're definitely special!!!

I think I have seen most of her interviews but none of them asked what other style of music Hilary listens to outside of classical.

@Giarola77 You're welcome. It's good to know that provoking a little anger and getting one's anti-American prejudices flowing can improve one's language skills so dramatically. I'm glad to see your English is really pretty good.

recording contrasting pieces mmm i own the cd with the paganini and sphor violin concertos and they a re too similar, this is the only one cd that hilary did the same style and i could say the barber and meyer violin concertos CD is another one with similar style

@boomer4666 I think it's actually her, sort of writing from the violincase's perspective, at least that's how it appears. But I'm not 100%

No big deal. Get drunk, get laid and stop spend all your free time playing "World of Warcraft”. You will understand anything better. A grown person who calls itself "Ginsuchop the Night elf” . . . oh gosh. Why not Beethoven? Debussy? Berio? De Falla? Prokofiev? Villa Lobos?or Ginastera? Probably because you do not speak German, Italian, French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese etc. Well, in this case you can try Charles Ives, Hamlet or any other serious person. Go forward!
