it was certainly not the "infinite war" anymore, the philosophy of upgrading beat out scrapping, the engagements got tighter and smaller and the ressource budget was tightened too. honestly i liked it, feels like the coalition scaled back the military expenses and downsized the prototypes to the new tier 2 units. like, it feels narratively correct to give the commander a smaller but with proper care stronger force to work with.
I can't fault anyone for not liking it, it's a very different game from the first. Fun, but a different kind of RTS. I'd have preferred it as a spin-off series so both 1 and this one could have their differences without changing the other. I'd certainly love a SupCom3, but more based on the first game, with a spin-off series based on SumCom2. It's a big universe after all.
It felt like RTS parkour with all the platforms, but with a fraction of the unit count and map size of the original which is what made SC1 so revolutionary - the sheer number of units you could deploy
Perhaps the upcoming “Industrial Annihilation” will be similar in terms of enemy numbers, but it probably won't have a proper story. And the buildings and units look like Lego...
Agreed but as someone who enjoys the concept and similarities of Supreme Commander and Industrial Annihilation, I'm looking forward to when the game is fully out. @GameIntrosFinales
Shame we shall never see Brackmen become the badguy he was obviously set up to become in the next game. Or that we shall find out what the “directive” QAI is talking about at the end of Forged Alliance.
I’m weird for preferring SupCom2 over the first one. I feel like it’s more honest with itself and focuses on its own strengths. A more… tightly designed package, it seems to me.
Also if there had been a third game, there probably would have been a fourth faction again and Brackman as a Villain, well he allready cloned himself twice i think, in the end of Supremme Comander in the Cybran Camapign it is mentioned that the commander that you play as is indeed a "child" of his a clone, oh yes
Now, this game, was "OK" just didn't "feel" the same as the original and FA. It was still good though.
I liked this one but my biggest gripe was how small the maps were. It made artillery very op
@@moldock40k Agreed, this is why I preferred the original SC and FA over SC2

was not expecting this, very nice
Wish there’s a supreme commander 3 in the future

try beyond all reason
this one would have been so good if the mechanics and units were tweaked just a bit, story and characters were quite enjoyable though.

Excellent
Helldiver vibes
Game was meh. Forged alliance was the best of the games

A downgrade from FA but still an OK Game gameplay wise, the Story though... its a good damn Anime Plot
