Things I love about this video: 1. The extent of the collection (bison in bulk storage cartons)! 2. Climate control concerns in the refrigerated area (my archivist is showing, isn't it?) 3. Phylus cabintetsis 4. Emily's bracelet (seriously, that is some awesome hardware) 5. Campus orgy 6. This is probably one of the best shot and edited videos I've seen on RUclips.
"... but I have a fluffy orange boyfriend named..." Mr. Howl, as in the noise? Or is it Mr. Howell, like Gilligan's Island? Or... going out on a limb here... is it Mr. Howell, after the famous anthropologist F. Clark Howell? Inquiring minds want to know. =)
At least 50% of the time I spend on the Internet is watching high quality, educational content like this. I don't understand why anyone would every say time wasted on the Internet is waste.
Emily you are seriously one of my new favorite people. You should have a Brain Scoop tour sometime where you have meetups at various natural history and zoological museums around the country.
I would gladly spend days wondering around that place being shown every single exhibit! Not usually a museum-y kind of person but that would be awesome. Fascinating.
This show is awesome. Seriously. This is the kind of reality tv i want to watch. Emily is awesome and the whole team behind the scenes does an amazing job.
Like the top comments say, I think that this will be a great youtube channel for various reasons. Firstly, Emily is like the nerdy, zoologically inclined queen of youtube. Secondly, Aranda and Hank are editing gods, and highlight educational things along with hilarity. Also, it's something a lot of people are interested in yet don't have entertaining online resources about. ALSO, this will probably be good for their dept. Lastly, ERMERGERD, I LOVE ZOOLOGY. So glad Hank/Aranda support this.
I am so glad this place now has a channel - here is hoping with more and more interest the museum can move to a bigger place to display all those amazing creatures.
Hey Michael, I just wanted to say that I really dig the music on this show so far. Its a nice counterpoint to such a potentially morbid subject and it makes me smile.
If I ever went to this museum, it would probably become my second favorite series of rooms I've ever been in. Second to the archaeology lab at my university
I am so freaking stoked on all of this. Emily (it has been readily established) is totally fantastic, but I would just like to add that I love the production; the editing style, the cinematography(?) and the block letters, the way that the that the voice over/music is used. It's just really clean and I think it does a lot towards making the show really interesting and showcasing Emily perfectly (that last part sounded creepy, but ya). Thanks you guys, awesome work Michael.
You should do a "Stories With Emily" series (or some more creative name) where Emily tells stories about her experiences working in the museum, or just funny stories. I love her enthusiasm and passion for her work; I think she'd be a great storyteller!
I know most of these comments are in praise of Emily (which is cool, because she's AWESOME and totally deserves it. Fo realz), but I would just like to compliment Michael Aranda on his superb editing. I always like the style of the videos he puts together. Four for you, Michael Aranda. You go, Michael Aranda.
Holy cow, this is the best thing ever! Emily, you're so smart and talented and funny and you're a natural in front of the camera and WOW! I loved this. Can't wait for more!!!
This show is fantastic!!!!! Its educational , interesting , funny, and Emily you are just so captivating! I've watched it four times already! I will be waiting in suspense until your next installment!
One of the reason that people find you so amazing Emily (other then that you are obviously smart and funny) is that your personality is not what anyone expects from someone that works with dead things. Most people picture Norman Bates, not a bright, happy personable girl in a cardigan. DFTBA
This is my new favorite channel. I absolutely love zoology and Emily is so funny and a great teacher/tour guide person! I also love all the captions :)
It's so great how you are so excited by what you do! It really inspires me because I want to break into the science field (preferably in microbiology) after I graduate, and it's great to have role models like you.
I had to scroll down and not watch the bird room part, but other than that, I am way more interested in this channel than I ever thought I would be. I'm sure your enthusiasm is more than half the reason.
I ALREADY LOVE THIS.. EMILY IS SO AWESOME. It might be odd trying to describe how good this chanel is to other people without sounding like a crazy person!!
Ok. This is probably the best video I have ever seen. I can't even mention all the comments I have in just one comment. Loved it! Can't wait for more! :)
Poor bunny never got the fame of Soon Raccoon.

Love that they casually zoom in on the bugs as the mount each other. xD
I seriously love Emily. She's so chill and funny. Very charismatic, and I love that she loves everything about the museum.
Finally see the real brain scoop!
I'm so happy that this channel exists! It's obvious that Emily knows and loves her subject. The beetles were my favourite part :D
"... but I have a fluffy orange boyfriend named..." Mr. Howl, as in the noise? Or is it Mr. Howell, like Gilligan's Island? Or... going out on a limb here... is it Mr. Howell, after the famous anthropologist F. Clark Howell? Inquiring minds want to know. =)
This never got an answer, and because of that I am sad.
At least 50% of the time I spend on the Internet is watching high quality, educational content like this. I don't understand why anyone would every say time wasted on the Internet is waste.
Was this the actual time you said: "(...) it still has brains on it."????
At no time before that was it ever said in a published segment of dissection. Might be a good thing for "Ask Emily"
This is literally my favorite thing on the internet. Between Brain Scoop and Oddities, my life is complete.
Prehensile tailed porcupine?! You didnt take Kimosabe did you? 😱
Qupid VOneOhOne Haha. I love Kemosabe.
Emily you are seriously one of my new favorite people. You should have a Brain Scoop tour sometime where you have meetups at various natural history and zoological museums around the country.
I love how excited you are about working/volunteering in a museum! And how excited you got when talking about Archaeology! Keep up the amazing work!
Oh my god she's perfect, complete deadpan the whole time...hilarious and informative
"Phylus cabinetsis" -- worth watching for that alone... Thank you, Emily!
I need this job more than anything in the whole world.
And she is so adorbs.
I really like Michael Aranda's style. The jump cuts, typography, sound design. Pretty awesome.
So jelly of Mr. Howell. So cute, so charming, and so smart!

I love her. So enthusiastic and entertaining, with some education thrown in there!
I love that I live in a world that can provide me with entertainment such as this.
you have got to be the most interesting person one could possibly meet at a party. and clearly you love what you do. also your editor is humorous.
Meeting you and visiting that museum had just made my Bucket List!
I love this! The contents of the museum are fascinating, Emily is a natural on camera... easily one of my favorite new channels on RUclips.
I am SO exited ti watch this show. I can tell it will very quickly become one of my favorite channels.
I am so glad this place now has a channel - here is hoping with more and more interest the museum can move to a bigger place to display all those amazing creatures.

This is my favourite show and Emily is one of my favourite people.
If I ever went to this museum, it would probably become my second favorite series of rooms I've ever been in. Second to the archaeology lab at my university
this is the greatest thing. I am going to LOVE this series. Emily you are wonderful!
Emily you're so natural. I'm real happy you are now going to be making videos.
I am so freaking stoked on all of this. This is perfect. Haven't been this excited about a RUclips series in a while!
This is going to be one of my new favorite shows.

The bird room is my favourite so far, I hope we go through there slowly in the future
Guys, I visited this museum a few days ago and it is the coolest place I have ever been.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels on RUclips, really great stuff!
Holy cow, this is the best thing ever! Emily, you're so smart and talented and funny and you're a natural in front of the camera and WOW! I loved this. Can't wait for more!!!

Yippy! Brain Scoop is launched and HAPPENING! This is so cool.
I'm really not a sciency person. But watching videos like yours or Hank's on youtube has taught me so much interesting stuff!
So excited to see Brain Scoop up and running! Keep up the good work.
One of the reason that people find you so amazing Emily (other then that you are obviously smart and funny) is that your personality is not what anyone expects from someone that works with dead things. Most people picture Norman Bates, not a bright, happy personable girl in a cardigan. DFTBA
Emily, you are awesome. Never change, ever...

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Especially the bits where Michael decided to add captions
This is classic Michael Aranda. You guys make a great team. Never really liked bio, but the two of you are stellar. DFTBA!
Emily, you're such a good presenter! This was really interesting, can't wait for the next episode.
I had to scroll down and not watch the bird room part, but other than that, I am way more interested in this channel than I ever thought I would be. I'm sure your enthusiasm is more than half the reason.

Also, that brain scoop looks just like the microspatulas I've had to use in chem labs.
