I still remember when I was in high school, 2003, my friend gave me this CD to copy on another CD. I was smart enough to save it and listen over and over again. And now after 14 y I still listen to metal :). Melodeath, mostly, but I still love to remember the good old days with songs like this.
When I got into music on my own, I started with Metallica's Master of Puppets, but it was Kill Em All that really sparked my music taste. I was convinced Metallica sold out on the black album. I grew up on that album, my dad always played it. Piles and piles of Metal albums later, I hear this live album. I realize black album isn't a total sellout. I even love Sad But True here, repetitive riff and all, there's something about the live version. also this is the best drum tone ever
So many layers on the original track I think...like the beginning of battery, they'd have to let it play over the speakers, which is fine for battery, but this is in the middle of the song and would kill the vibe during a live performance.
