I was really curious when Kumbura came over, because she’s never struck me as one to seek out attention from her humans. August 14th, 2023. Hello to Adine and the herd family from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada . Khanyisa must be much bigger by now I hope everyone is doing well 🙏
I enjoyed watching this video and learning how elephants spend their day out grazing and foraging. I wish I could spend a day with them so I can experience that same feelings and emotions these lovely animals go through.
Great video as always. I love how the ellies react to Adine’s presence, always curious and respectful. They truly love her. I worry about Fishan all the time, if he’s well and don’t stumble on the uneven path. I worried the most watching Fishan and Jabulani in their power exchange. There’s nothing subtle there, they’re very intense. Khanyisa is so tall now. She’s not a baby anymore 💕🐘💕
The bulls really know where to put a tusk to gain power over their opponent, it’s definitely concerning to us too and we’ve had to repair the odd puncture wound, but it’s also so natural to them and necessary as still wild animals. Nature can be so tough sometimes!
Little Khanyisa is so adorable, sweet & beautiful all the time. 😊 I feel happy whenever I watch videos about her. 💜 I hope to see the elephants someday. 💜
(Debra) Yay, 47 minutes of my stars! It seems that when the ellies put their trunk on their eye or in their mouth, they are contemplating their next move. When Bubi did that, I think she was communicating with Zindoga and he came over to her. Their ears go out and they are debating the next step to take. Fishan had that look in his eye..."Hey, I can still hold my own Jabulani"." Limpopo certainly on babysitting duty today. Another great video...thanks Adine for your time and sharing your day! Bless all you carers and ellies!!

@@Babydux In India they just rescued a 60 year old enslaved elephant named Nina! She was terribly abused. Blind in both eyes due to the constant punching in her eyes to keep her obedient. I love these videos so full of elephant cameos, interesting topography and nature’s little things, and the highlight of it all were the words across the screen explaining to us, “Kumbura passes gas.”😂
Khanyisa is getting taller! Her legs are getting longer. It's really noticeable! She's a healthy, happy, growing baby elephant! I love you, Khanyisa! 💕🐘💕
Fantastic long video and perfect way to end a tough day. Lots going on here today. Bit windy out there and I don't mean the weather 😂😂😂 I think it's the first time I've seen Jabulani and Fishan face off like that but it's easy to forget that, as accustomed to their human family as they are, these Elephants are essentially wild. As one of Fishan's foster mums, I always feel concern for him although he copes so well. I just feel so drawn to him. Tokwe watching everything without making it obvious. No fooling her! Sunshine gets taller, Timi gets prettier. All is well. Thank You Adine and all the Team!! 💖🐘💖🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much for the care you provide the herd. I really appreciate the captions in the videos. It helps include the person that are hard of hearing. We enjoy it so much.
Thank you for the great video dispatch. spending some time with the crew in the bush getting caught up with our superstars all of them i see the carers have a big job keeping every body together keeping up with everybody, make sure everybody is behavingThe herds interaction with the carers in the bush is also amazing. usa
Elephants:- 'We eat the grass, we eat the plants, we eat the roots, we eat the bulbs, we eat the berries, we eat the flowers, we eat the shrubs, we eat the fruits, we eat the bark, we eat the leaves, we eat the trees. The humans do not seem to eat much. We have shown them many times all the good things to eat in the bush but they do not seem to get it. They only eat strange things they bring in bags. It is worrying sometimes. How can it be good for them?
Thank you so much! I just love it when you explain and point things out about the elephants; their physicality and personality ❤️. They are amazing and so are you for loving them so much!! 🥰💖🇨🇦
I just can't believe how cute and funny khanyisa is thank you for helping her and the hold elephant family I love watching them and can't understand why someone would won't to hurt them they belong here just like we do they where here frist and the large elephant are so beautiful khanyisa is the cutest and the most sweet heart baby elephant and she's also silly but I do love her that way please keep up the good work you and your caregivers are doing please send more🤩😍🥰

Hi Adine, I have just recently found your channel, and I have spent many hours enjoying the time you and your amazing team spend with these wonderful, loving, intelligent, and gentle Elephants. Bless you all.
They sure have to walk quite awhile to get the best food. Winter time is always so dry . I’m so happy Fishan is under good care and doing better. 🌟 thank you 😊. The Herd has the best caretakers in all of Africa ! 🥰. Thank you 😊. khanyisa and all the herd just love each other🐘❤️. And are sooooo happy 😃. They just love those rubs 💖. That was the best walk thank you all🤩❤️. Hugs to the family herd 🐘🐘🐘🐑🐑🤗. Xoxoxo ❤️ Be Blessed Always 💖🕊
So great to see the herd up close today. Limpopo was Khanyisa’s allomother today & it makes me happy she has several. Thank you, Adine for the extra time filming & loving on them & the carers for doing such a great job monitoring the ellies and surroundings. Question: is sometimes hard to get them to go back to the stables or are they looking forward for ‘rest time’. 💗💗 💗🐘🐘🐘 🐑🐑
Limpopo is certainly taking after her mother! 💗 The herd is excellent about heading back to the stables - they're probably thinking about all the bana grass awaiting them! 😂

So enjoyed this vid. Being a bit juvenile I thought Andine was so brave to follow Lundi’s rear so closely after Kumbura had just let fly! 65 and still giggle when someone “toots”!😆❤️❤️❤️
People! If you are not watching this then I guess your senses are jaded beyond repair and that you urgently require mood resuscitation therapy. As for me, this is pleasure past compare!
Thanks to everyone at HERD for the wonderfully loving care you give the herd! From daily milk to mud baths and blankets for sensitive albino skin to heroic measures that can save a broken leg and a life; nothing is too big or too small for you all. May G-d bless you each and all measure for measure and more!
When one of the elephants puts trunk in other elephants mouth to greet...ca they tell if other elephant is sick by the smell and do they show you signs of what they smell?
They can absolutely tell all kinds of things from what they pick up with the tips of their incredibly sensitive trunks - they use the tips of their trunks to explore and sniff and pick up scents that form part of chemical communication, deciphering odours from the mouth but also other parts of the body of other elephants - they can read into the urine, dung, saliva and temporal gland secretions for instance, and pass these on to the Jacobson's organ on the roof of their mouths for further deciphering. They are their own laboratories!
That foster Mom is precious, I wish I could give her and the baby a big hug. All of you working there with these magnificent animals are Angels walking on Earth. Thanks to you all for what you do.
Love the long videos showing the different adult elephants interacting with the herd and carers. The young ones interact and spend time with different adults, experience different vibes and personalities. But most of the time so much is going on, not just eating. Tokwe makes me feel so honored when I get to hear her gentle rumble greeting. I think tokwe, fishan, and Jabulani are my favorites. Oh, I think it's lundi that has the fullest, long hair tail of the females? Seeing the lower half of the elephants so much I am trying to learn their tails!

Sigh….I can go back to sleep with a smile on my face….thinking of you & the carers with my favorite Herd still safe & alive in this world.
Love reading the comments from everyone, too. I join them all in sending you love. 💖💕🐘🌿🐘🌱🐘🌿💕
Good evening you all ,it's great see you all with these beauties again.Where is Fishan going ? Is he lost.?
Funny when kumbura lift her trunk to cover her face. Shes embarassed 😅
My thoughts exactly
😂😂
This little angel is growing up so fast. It is so magical to see her take shape and grow into this strong beautiful 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
Wow, Bubi does have long eyelashes!. ❤ Zindoga rushing in like hey that's my mama so be nice to her. Lol
I thought that too!!
Is it me or is Kambura beautiful tusks getting longer.
Khensani the good carer who give the little ones have a very lovely life by the little ones thank you💚❤💚🐘🐘🌼🌻🌷For you Khensani🌹
🥰. Great start to my day!! Thank you 😊
I love these videos so full of elephant cameos, interesting topography and nature’s little things, and the highlight of it all were the words across the screen explaining to us, “Kumbura passes gas.”😂
On vacation but I need my daily time with HERD!
Enjoy your vacation! 💚💚
@@herdelephantorphanage I did! Thank you!!
Khanyisa is getting taller! Her legs are getting longer. It's really noticeable! She's a healthy, happy, growing baby elephant!
I love you, Khanyisa! 💕🐘💕
You carers are all absolutely 💯 great thank you for caring and loving these elephants, you are doing mighty great vital jobs ALL of you ❤️
Fantastic long video and perfect way to end a tough day. 💖🐘💖🙏🙏🙏
Thinking of you, Jan! 💚💚
@@herdelephantorphanage 🙏🙏🙏😘
Wonderful love seeing Khanyisa.
Thank you so much for the care you provide the herd. I really appreciate the captions in the videos. It helps include the person that are hard of hearing. We enjoy it so much.
Thank you for the great video dispatch. spending some time with the crew in the bush getting caught up with our superstars all of them i see the carers have a big job keeping every body together keeping up with everybody, make sure everybody is behavingThe herds interaction with the carers in the bush is also amazing. usa
I love the videos, so much to learn from the ellies and the baby girl is growing so fast! Blessings fr buenos aires, argentina ❤❤❤🇦🇷
Absolutely enjoy the peaceful eating and mingling among the herd, male, female and various ages. Wonderful to see.
Thank you all.

Hi Adine, I have just recently found your channel, and I have spent many hours enjoying the time you and your amazing team spend with these wonderful, loving, intelligent, and gentle Elephants. Bless you all.
Thank you for your herd work. Lol! I enjoyed your video they are beautiful ❤❤
Lots of love to you, Dora! 💚
@@herdelephantorphanage thank you ❤️ back.
Thank you all for your hard work
So great to see the herd up close today.
@@herdelephantorphanage For a second I forgot about the elephants intelligence 😁❤️🐘
Limpopo actually has beautiful front legs & feet!
I was laughing so much when Kombura passed gas and Adine's comment in Afrikaans. Thank you so much for the work you do Adine!
Adine, you are obviously wearing some 'elephant' perfume that Limpopo likes.
So enjoyed this vid. Being a bit juvenile I thought Andine was so brave to follow Lundi’s rear so closely after Kumbura had just let fly! 65 and still giggle when someone “toots”!😆❤️❤️❤️
😂😂 very risky indeed!
I was surprised to see Bubi come up to you!
LOL. Guess she is in a good mood.
You are all saints to be helping the magnificent animals with the gentle hearts hard to believe humans can treat them so badly
