Re: No bulging on the back of the target. Titanium tends to burn. You can see a lot of sparks when the 20mm round hits. So it may be that the energy of the hit goes into the burning of the Titanium on the front of the target instead of deforming the metal as you would expect on a steel target.
Just throwing this out there: The biggest advantage of Titanium over steel is that it offers only slightly less strength at a far lesser weight AND it doesn’t oxidate. So it’s a more premium material than steel but NOT stronger than steel.
Titanium and aluminum both oxidize quite strongly. It's just that the oxide layer formed protects against further oxidation. The oxide layer is what makes them hard to weld.

Titanium - well this explains how RoboCop survived so many hits
Znam da si udata
Legit, and RoboCop had angled armor. So even a slight angle would add just that much more to defeat
Terminator was titanium as well plus other unknown elements
Robo had a thin lamination of titanium that made him immune to small arms. A 20mm could and did penetrate as fired by ED209’s 20mm auto cannons
A10 would destroy them both :D
Pure titanium is quite soft. It must be alloyed with other metals to create an alloy resistant to penetration by projectiles.
