when i heard rumors of move list getting cut in half(becauuse a lot of new players complain about them and hearing that law's moveset was cut in half) i was kinda scared that they would remove some of my favorite moves from king, but again they prove way they are the goats, my boy king is back with all his moves, better then ever
Namco ain't joking around with King this time! I DO see that most of the combo throws have been simplified this time, especially the Rolling Death Cradle. Though for me, it's not really about the input change, but rather the precise timing that goes into inputting these commands. I still have trouble sometimes trying to input the Rolling Death Cradle and other combo throws mid-game, so most of the time I cheese the inputs with my control layout to make things easier for myself and my fingers. Overall, I'm glad King's moveset is looking better than ever! Can't wait to get my hands on Tekken 8 when it releases!
I dig the throw chain change. Simplified some to make little Timmy feel better, but they have reduced damage compared to normal. But you can still do the legacy input for the old-school damage.
Guys, I know what he/you said, but what the digging is for when it's written right on the screen lmao ? That's just what I said, but nevermind I guess.
@@Anonymous-dg5je no no, he didn't mean digging as in having to look for it, "I dig it" just means "i enjoy/like it". unless you're meaning something else
Same. Those 3-button grabs always were a pain in my ass. Heck, with just that change I won't even need to use the simple inputs. On the other hand, I,ll still have to learn proper timings for the throws I couldn't do before and unlearn some other shit as well.
yeah I think they are there and they also deal more damage if you do the old version; i don't really play with chain throws personally so i might be wrong but i can see in the extra notes next to the moves there is a harder version, and it says it'll power up the moves
Ngl, I'm a bit dissapointed they stopped adding throw chains after Screwdriver(I think that came out in T5?). One of my favorite things to do growning up as a King player was learning all the chain grabs
I believe the animation of it was present in his Tekken Teg (1) ending cutscene, but I don't think it was added until 5. Weird! I believe 5 also added all the aerial throws.
You can throw input buffering out the window for King now. Ppl will be mashing out chain throws like crazy. If the easy inputs make the break window larger, cool. If not, then the legacy inputs are my way to go. They watered down King with this.
Did they remove half of the chain grabs? I swear, I don't see some of the extensions in the live game. The entire armor king (sleeper) chain from the cobra clutch is missing. Move 192 is now "reverse special stretch bomb" instead, for example. I tried inputting the command to no avail.
Only if you so the easy mode grabs like Backdrop & Reverse Special Stretch Power Bomb, scrub. And even if you do have simple inputs for those two specific chain grabs, you can still do the old inputs for the same'ol damage. In other words: Suck it up, gatekeeper. Or learn to do some actual grabs like Standing Heel Hold.
So now some Kings chain throws are simplified by just pressing one button per command? I see Rolling Death Cradle & Screwdriver is a multiple button pressing command but simplified as well.
Can anyone help me out. Just started in practice mode with King and after 4 moves off the combo move list, when I pressed square it would go into the heat activation two hit move… I waited for the heat bar to finish and it would just go straight back to the heat activation combo move with just pressing square once. Is my game bugged or am I missing something here?
Honestly, not a big fan of the rage art (maye coz the last shot felt underwhelming to me), id probably do a strike combo to a cyclone kick into a rainmaker (well its just my idea)
I've been practicing with king but I'm having trouble doing grabs. I'm having such a hard time pressing two buttons down simultaneously at the right time. I'm starting to feel discouraged... can anyone give some tips?
A tip: Set something like L3 to the 'Ki Charge', aka the input that presses all 4 'face' buttons (If you're on Playsation, Circle+Square+Triangle+X button) that way you can spam it when doing grab chains and get the full combo. You never have to press anything but that for the rest of the grapple chain. But on another note: Be sure to learn the initial 1 or 2-often single-input- buttons for certain grab chains and THEN spam the assigned button to finish a grab that so you don't become too predictable and people tech you. That way you also don't end up getting Dragon Sleeper from Arm Breaker's Chicken Wing Face Lock when going for Rolling Death Cradle, for instance. In other words: If you're aiming to do-say- King's Bridge from Standing Heel Hold you,ll still have to learn to press 1-2 +1+3+ and final hit the button you assigned to Ki Charge to first do Indian Death Lock. Then you can spam the Ki Charge button to do King's Bridge. If you just spam Ki Charge after Standing Heel Hold you,ll always get S.T.F. This may all sound daunting and complicated but it's actually quite simple. Don't feel down if you mess up, even I still screw up my grabs from time to time just with normal, non-Ki-button-assisted inputs and I've played King since Tekken 2. TL:DR Assign a button to hit Ki Charge during a grapple and mash it.
@@actuallystoked yup just 2+4 is the new combo extender air throw. Fff 2+4 is still the old combo ender. Also because it's 2+4 you can 1,2,2+4 when you get the right launch because the jab grab extensions count as the same aerial grab
@@_woblyleg_6857 In no way did I complain about getting grabbed, plus he has an unbreakable throw during his heat armored run. I'm not crying about it at all I'm just saying that seems pretty strong in a game where you normally can't extend heat
Maybe it has to do with how long the animations for some of the grabs are? Like that you’re not “losing heat time” for how many frames a move takes (im not sure just guessing)
Where is the simple input shown for RDC? The display and audio cue only shows the legacy input at 14:52. Some of the other chain throws do have a simple input option but as far as I can tell RDC doesn't. At least now they display the throw escape buttons; only took them 20-some years.
