  • Forged Bookmarks and texturing examples. Hand forged Beautiful Metal Bookmarks #video #youtube #maker
    Hello all, this week's little project is some forged Sheet metal Bookmarks. This is something new that I'm trying and hope you all like what I threw together today. I think they turned out beautifully. My wife is an avid reader, personally I read from necessity as opposed to pleasure like my wife. I prefer the artistry of films as opposed to literature.
    She actually mentioned the idea of making some bookmarks, I looked on RUclips to specifically spark some ideas and found a few.
    We will start offering these in our physical store this coming week and hope that they are well received.
    If you are interested in ordering, you can reach us Via email at
    Emptypocketsironworks@gmail.com these are $12.00 USD plus Shipping Continental US only.
    I am hoping to forge out a new Dragon head display so look for that in the coming vids. I will try to keep a steady pace with my Sunday uploads.

    I, like you, also prefer to only read out of necessity. My wife however is like yours, and loves to read. She is in love with these bookmarks. You did a great job, they look fantastic. I love the texture that hammer puts on. I am not familiar with the finish you used on them - can you tell me more about it? Thanks!

      Sure, it's trewax paste, applied while around 1000 degrees it absorbs into the steel top layers and when cooled becomes a rustic bronze. I then buff and wipe out all excess leaking a smooth water resistant non smudging finish.

    Very nice! I appreciate the warning to use thin steel so as not to damage the spine of the books. Also appreciate your repurposed HF hammer!

      Well he's finished and been shown for some time now. I opted to division the build via tiktok due to time constraints and my wife's health. And pending surgeries.

    What kind of.magnet is that?

    • @wrotiron
      @wrotiron  Год назад

      That is the magnet off of a Sony Xplod 15 inch subwoofer works extremely well I've seen other types of magnets from even larger subwoofers that would probably work better without the hole in the center thank you for the question
