Like Knuckles I'll be taking a break from watching any hockey till the NHL season resumes. I stopped watching the All-Star game since the mid 90's & these meaningless games of the 4 Nations tournament will have just about the same intensity. No need to waste time & money on a over-hyped, cash grab event.
Mind you, NHL players have not gone to the Olympics since 2014 due to Bettman. Think some fans might be ramped up due to background geopolitical situations. It would be a test for the 2026 Winter Olympics which the NHL players are supposed to unless Bettman pulls another screwover. Have to say that Team USA does have a bit of an advantage with their development program which sadly is lacking in Canada. Hockey Canada has to think of something. A lot Canadian players end up in the US after they retire, especially since the 1970s onwards.
4 Nations > All star game… nobody will contest that. But my excitement level for 4 Nations is, maybe a 2/10. At least there is no repeat of team “North America”, thank god. Best on best always sounds good, but I wouldn’t want my allstars jeopardizing their health during a playoff push for a glorified cash grab.
Its not best on best missing Russia, its mid season and guys are beat up, stars are missing or injured, and it just seems like none of the players care about it.
Players are all beat up from the compressed schedule, it's really a half-assed attempt to make up for the lack of Int'l competition. Terrible planning shows a lack of consideration for the players.

Nope. It became a joke when a guy who's only played a few games was just added to Team Canada.
If the commecials are focused on sports betting, I definitely won't be watching.
