Nice camera! I remember taking off my goggles and to my surprise it was dark outside. The image in the goggles was still flyable for a few more packs due to the low lux.

Night flight performance is slightly worse than the micro Ratel because of the smaller lens. There's a little bit more noise. I'll post some night footage soon and link it in the description. I recorded some night footage but somehow it got corrupted so I was not able to import it into my video editor. Reviewer's curse strikes again!
@@leffler2 Also picked up direct from Caddx. I've added full size Ratel to all my quads. The 3" versions really need something smaller to help protect the lens. This is the perfect solution a baby ratel.

I love my 3 Ratel cams with 1.66 mm lens. Because I fly 16:9 and the 1.66 lens add extra screen on the sides (top and bottom not chopped off). With the 2.1 mm lens only the top and bottom screen is chopped off. Question: Can we expect a 1.5 mm - ish glass lens for the Baby Ratel to add extra screen on the sides?? That would make the very best nano cam today :)
Probably not. I don't think I would want a more narrow FOV. You might be able to swap in the lens from the EOS2 if you really want a more narrow FOV but I haven't tried that.
Not a fan of to much fish eye, so is there a lens of 120 degrees with less fish eye? I have one of these in a micro wing build, but I just haven't hooked it up and played with it yet.

Really really nice image on this one 👍 I like it. I may get one to go on my primo build I’m working on. Just got the rc nano 2 out in it but then image on this one looks sooooo good. And with the adjustable image it’s a plus 1 over the RunCam Nano.

So is changing the sharpness the only thing you'd recommend? If not you should do a video of best settings and compare to runcam racer nano on best settings P.s. lemme know if you're getting rid of one of the 15 micro ratels 😂😂
Yes, that's pretty much the only thing I would adjust... it really is almost perfect IMO. The RunCam Race Nano is terrible compared to this. Almost unflyable IMO even after playing around with settings. One of the worse nano cameras ever made. It's really bad.
It's probably to keep the weight down. Whenever you add more protection you add more weight. In ultralight builds more people will complain why they added a useless solid back that makes it heavier. No one is ever happy in FPV. Always people upset about something.
Yo, you gonna get some night time footage? Does this still have the starlight sensor? I've noticed the Baby Turtle doesn't handle low light as well as the Turtle v.2. Is it the same between the Ratel and Baby Ratel?

That's a special release and limited edition. I don't even have that one! I think it's just a lighter variation of the Baby Ratel and probably a better lens. You know more than me since you have it in hand and I don't.
I've never had any of mine freeze. I have more than 10. Maybe U'm just super lucky? FYI, I do know that a few people I helped with their freezing cameras installed them on builds where the BEC was not able to supply enough current. In both cases when they changed the setup the freezing stopped. So in the only cases I've seen the freezing it was due to user error.

Ratel works for around my yard at night with just porch lights. I think the baby ratel will still be good enough. Definitely going to find out!

No, you only plug that in to change settings. It doesn't need to be plugged in all the time.

I've never seen a lens of that size so I would say not likely any time soon.

You may want to try a lens from a different camera. This uses an M8 lens which is pretty standard.

The smaller lens inherently comes with a little less low light performance but I will post some low light footage and link it in the description.

Ratel are definitely the best FPV cameras.
Even compared with a DJI FPV camera, only the definition is worst.
